Daytona boots, brilliant stuff that is. Very very expensive but totally worth it. They last forever, if they get damage after ages, just send them in for repair. There is hardly any damage I have heard of, which Daytona in Germany is not able to repair and they expilicitly offer that repair service for all their boots, even the ones from the 70s can be sent in to be repaired today ! They still have all the original leathers on stock just for those purposes. Maximum security, extremely comfy, insane quality build, life long repair service ( for a hefty charge of course ).... it is just worth the price. Warning: wearing Daytona once, you will never wear any other boot. Great vid, grats + all the best.
Fantastic review. Straight to the point. I’d not really thought about this before but this has really given me a bit of inspiration. Thank you and have sub. Best wishes from Yorkshire
Just stumbled across your review. I'm 5ft 5 with only a 28 inch inseam and fancy a new bike later in the year but sounds like these boots could open doors to high seat bikes! 👍
They really do allow you to ride bikes with a tall seat height. Even better if the bike has a narrower seat. Problem is when you take them off and literally fall back to earth.🤣🤣 Worth every penny though as I’d ruled out the likes of my r1200GS until I bought these boots and I fit it perfect.👍🏍
Nice one Dave, I bought a pair 6 years ago when I returned to biking and they're still showing no signs of wear. As you say comfortable all day long and totally waterproof. The only very minor downside as you've found out being that raised insole makes gear changing and braking a bit strange at first but you soon get used to it. I'm glad I bought mine😉
@@wilder17 I don't have any problems on my GS but can't say what they'd be like on a sportsbike. They did take a little getting used to as my heels are quite a bit higher than the balls of my feet with them on but I soon got used to them. They sell them at sportsbikeshop and they accept returns so you could get them then try them on and sit on your bike without marking them etc to see how you get on? www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/98183?gclid=CjwKCAjwn6GGBhADEiwAruUcKpEUJUqMaeqjiLDuhXkNxYCk4vwQxIVaoneGT6QyA3PwJj0XpMlv1hoCmLAQAvD_BwE
Great review Sir, I have been wearing the same boots since 2016 as I am vertically challenged with 30 inch in-seam. They definitely give me that added bit of reassurance and have not let me down, not even once, in regular torrential rain during my commute.
My wife got the short version of Daytonas exactly the same reason, for that extra hight. After they arrived and being able to see their quality in real , I need to get me the pair of Arrow Sport GTX. So far I had them for just over a year and commute almost daily...they are worth every penny! If you are in market for new boots please consider them, they are very understated and specially for sport boots I would daresay updated in terms of design but honestly I don't care. Also good job on the review!
Hi Dave, At least you paid for them which goes a long way on recommendation.. I will be looking into them next year when I ditch my existing RSTs. Over 600 subs now and rising, keep the reviews coming, they are entertaining as well as informative. 👍👍👍
It’s a wonderful garage. These boots are the boss. For me the best money can buy. Love them. Life’s short, just buy the bike. Then go buy the best safety gear money can buy.
I've been wearing them for many years after they were recommended by colleagues in the Met Police. A bit expensive but worth it and if the soul wears out you can send them back to the factory for a repair.
Great review Dave, I was confused how they can lift your feet so high as they don't look that chunky in the video so had to hop on the internet to do some research, that is really quite incredible. I already have some Daytona boots, I should measure how thick the heel is on them to see what the difference is vs these.
Ok, now with some time with the Daytona M-Star GTX motorcycle boot. What is your impression now? What's good and what is bad? I'm also a short inseam rider here, 5'4" 28" inseam 136 lbs. I was looking for a boot that will help. Is this the one? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you Richard
Hi Richard, I love them! The only thing is that they are very tight on my calf’s but hopefully after more wear they will stretch even more. They still look as good as new as I bought the Daytona care creams. I’ve been caught in a few heavy rain storms and my feet have always been the dryest part of me. Definitely worth the money so far.👍🎥
Hi Denzil. Yes they are true to size but with boots I always order one size larger as I often wear double socks in the winter. The slight problem is that they are tight enough on my calf muscles but I’m sure they’ll stretch in time.
I just bought these. Excellent quality. One problem, I can’t zip them up. I have tried every possible method, position and even tied a chord around upper calf to pull zip together, and that doesn’t help either. So have thrown them in disgust…..😢😢😢😢 A short arse at 5 foot 8…..lol. Am 5 foot 4 with 27 inch inside leg. That’s a short arse.
Ah I had the same problem initially until I realised I had to loosen off the Velcro at the rear of the boot to make more space. Hope this works as mine are even better now than they were when I bought them.
@@WheelieGoodTV thanks for the tip. I feel the long zip is on the wrong side, should be on inside nearest engine of bike. I did eventually get them on, 15 minutes each!! Think I look out the pliers to have more leverage on the zip. 😂 Best wishes.
Fantastic review…..I’ve just ordered the new shorter ones, the Max Sport after seeing this. Got to ask…..I know you’re in Ireland but you must have lived in the North East! The accent is puzzling me
Thanks. They’re even better now I’ve owned them for a while. They’re a lot softer and they still look brand new. Can’t fit them under jeans but no problem under textile trousers. Absolutely love them and they’re great for walking around when I get to a location.
Hi Dave, Did you have to change the gear shift to accommodate these boots?. Or do you ahift normally?,I have brought a used pair from Ebay but they haven't arrived yet.
Great stuff. I presume you meant 7mm (not centimetres). Nice collection of motorcycles. My SWMBO foils my ideal n+1 motorbikes at every turn. That said, I'm very happy with my 2012 GSA1200. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Michael. Yeah it’s actually a 7CM lift with the instep and the base of the boot. Superb for riding bikes I always dismissed because of the tall seat height.

You call that short!? I'm 5'5"! I'm trying to flat foot my Harley road glide.

Well Google them then rather than looking up a UA-cam video!🤯🤯🤯
I wouldn't call 5'8" short. That height is quite average. You must live around very tall people.
Well that’s great to hear. I am constantly referred to as shortarse. 🤣🙏
