I’m going for it!! Already applied for business license, procured a domain name, wrote a business plan, talked to existing clients (I’m a restoration carpenter/supervisor). Studying now for 107. Your video turned me onto the Enterprise/thermal aspect. Thank you!!!
Hey there Kevin! I’m just now watching this video and am interested in getting started myself! How has your experience with this been going? I’d love to hear a progress update!
I just passed my Part 107 this past Wednesday. I will say that your videos have been helpful on understand what the possibilities are in the drone industry. Thank you for your time and knowledge.
I want to say a huge thank you! I'm a part 107 pilot who flies for a search and rescue unit and I've asked my DJI Enterprise vendor for a demo of the thermal many times and they never accommodate. So this is great info to let me know it's capabilities.
Thanks for this. I am the "drone operator" for my fire dept and we are just about to purchase this very drone. So the more videos on it the better for me!!! :-)
Awesome! If you have any clout, suggest using the link in my description! I don’t get commission, but it still does help the channel by driving traffic there!
In have the Enterprise Dual and will be upgrading to the Advanced very soon. In order to get the most out of this drone AND be successful using it in your business I highly recommend the ITC sUAS Level 1 Thermography certification. It's an outstanding course and you will never look at a thermal image the same. So many people have no clue what they are doing with a thermal camera especially when you are doing radiothermic analysis. Understanding how emissive or reflective a surface is makes a HUGE difference in understanding what you are actually seeing.
Our fire department just added an M2EA as we begin to add/replace equipment in our cache. Very capable and improved over the Advanced Duals we have with optics, thermals, and ability to split screen. Smart controller is also a nice addition. I'd encourage you to discuss NFPA 2400 with the Fire Chief. A relatively new guide for the fire service on program development. He may also consider applying to Firehouse Subs grant program. As for both, we found having both 107 certified pilots as well as COAs provide the greatest benefit for our program (6-ish years). Pearland ,TX has great experience with COAs. DJI geofencing can be a pain but once you understand the unlocking process (and have a public safety account), the issue decreases somewhat.
I’m currently in the Nondestructive Testing field. I mostly do industrial gamma radiography. I’m am also a part 107 commercial pilot. I have actually built a custom ultrasonic thickness drone capable of measuring the thickness of water towers and large pressure vessels. I have looked into drones with thermal cameras, and the only disadvantage to this drone, is that DJI stopped using FLIR cameras. FLIR tools is an invaluable resource when it comes to analyzing thermal images. Hopefully they will develop a similar software suite. It would be very useful having such a small and portable drone with more capability. I have personally owned the Mavic, Mavic air, Mavic 2 pro, and the DJI FPV drone. So using this would be extremely familiar. My main passion is FPV drones, as I have built over 40 of them. Currently I use my commercial pilot license for dynamic cinematic footage, which DJI drones are just not capable of doing. Camera drones do have their place though, and this is definitely one of them. Definitely looking forward to seeing all of what this platform is capable of.
I just bought my first drone and I am working on a degree in unmanned systems. The idea of doing inspections and helping other organizations as a side gig sounds awesome. Time to put in some fly hours! Loving the content as well!
First of all thanks for putting this video out. Second I've been following you channel for a while now, I've learned a great deal from your different videos about the industry and drones in general, and I wanted to just say thank you.
Will be very interested in seeing more of the thermal footage in fire and rescue situations as I am trying to get one of these drones as a proof of concept case for the fire and rescue service I am an on call firefighter for. I have talked them into using my Air2 for now!
Thanks a bunch. I knew this was coming for a couple of years, and I'm still languishing. I guess it's just age, and trying to figure out how to be useful. This is such a great area to find things to do, regardless of cash ambitions. I have the Mavic Air 2, now I wish I had bought this drone, because I like the area of searching for people, animals, etc. That really appeals to me. But I better do real estate first, and there's a lot that around here. Anyway, great job again by you!
I fly a M2 enterprise dual. I am discovering that two new batteries will start the “safety” discharge in 3 days. Makes it very hard to be on standby for a search is one needs a hour to charge a battery first. Have you experienced this yet with the new one?
just watched your video very interesting, the Port Authority of NY and NJ was looking for drone operators for bridge inspections a couple years ago. i am doing real estate sales and definitely do have a need for a drone like this thank you for all the information you have provided
Great video, Russ. As usual. Two topics I'd like to see in your follow up to this. 1) Mapping capabilities, and 2) uses for the loudspeaker. I assume it's not to play Ride of the Valkyries (Wagner) while surfing. 😀 Just thought of #3: what drones compete with this one?
Okay, as I sit here and drool over this drone, I gotta tell ya, holy crap! $6500.00 bucks! But like you said “If you’re interested in making an investment “. Which would make this drone a great investment for anyone looking to start their own business. I should really get off my rump and get my 107, I’m 63 y/o now and this would be a really good business adventure after retirement. Now, to find the best Part 107 course 😁 Great video my friend 👍 Ya know, I’ve been watching you since you’ve gotten your first Mavic (I bought mine soon after) and have watched you grow your channel over time, keep up the great work 👍
The M2 Dual thermal has a very low res thermal correct, and the M2EA has the 640x480 thermal? The dual seems like a waste because at night in the dark without the visual camera, its almost useless where a 640x480 you can actually make out a decent image.
I believe that if one is going to start out in a business utilizing drone photography, the price tag of this drone is going to mandate that you absolutely MUST HAVE thermal imaging for what you do. It's also a bit of an adjustment going from 4k resolution in the visible spectrum with even a Mini-2, to seeing a very low resolution IR picture from both DJI and Autell when it comes with that kind of price tag. Definitely a niche product.
I'm sorry. I feel I need to apologize to Russ. I didn't mean anything negative towards Russ or his business from my previous comment. Kudos to him for building his channel to what it has been in 4 years. I don't know much about his business other than this UA-cam channel. Living only hours away, maybe someday we could cross paths and find out more about his business. It was just frustrating for me to see this video. Don't get me wrong, it was very educational. Like I said in my previous comment, I'm just trying to save for a mini 2 at $650. I'm hoping to get some sort of business going, but that might be a struggle with a mini 2, but that's all I can afford (and quite frankly, what I could only hope would convince my wife that this might work). So to see that there is this type of drone that would amplify a business is out there, but costs $7,000, is frustrating. Yes, I understand it will take a ton of time to build up a business to be able to afford this drone, and I hope some day I can. Very well done, Russ. I always enjoy your videos and hope to soon be flying my own drone. Thank you.
I have the Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual. I can see the design difference in the cameras. But, other than that, what is the difference between the Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual vs the Mavic 2 Enterprise Advance?
great video! I have been flying recreationally for 3 years now and have decided I am missing some money opportunities so I have studied and taking the 107 test next Friday. One of my interests have been helping local law enforcement and fire department which I already have a great relationship with and do other volunteer work for. As soon as I am finished typing this I am going to check into this drone to add to my current drones which are the M2Z, Phantom 4 Pro and Mini.
Very timely Russ! Was recently looking into a sUAS Thermography Certification as I work on my business plan. Would love to see more from you on this drone.
The video was nice. Thank you. However, I don't know how practical it is since it doesn't appear you can purchase a mavic 2 enterprise advanced thermal drone anymore. There might be one or two come up for sale once in awhile but they are not readily available.
So if you actually start getting paid work, it would be something I think most of us would be interested in watching you do. Could you imagine a new VLOG channel of 51drones going to different job sites and flying his drone commercially, it would be worth watching and would most likely inspire more people to become 107 pilots. That would be cool.
hey man what are your thoughts about the m30t? im looking to start a business and this may be the drone i start with. any recommendations on obtaining jobs with this is much appreciated!
Awesome video, Russ! Definitely would be interested in more videos on this drone. That thermal camera is very impressive! Looking forward to more videos on the Enterprise. Speaking of which….I have a Star Trek dad joke….What did Spock find in the toilet of the Starship Enterprise? The Captain’s log!! 🤣😂🤣 Sorry, brother….couldn’t resist!
I haven't seen a video on an actual Business Back office on how everything progresses when you have the data. Seems if a person has a full size SUV with maybe 1000 watt solar panels and a 1000 watt inverter with battery, All the various batteries and communication devices including a printer and Point of sale device (If needed). Maybe a small fridge for Water and Soda. Could be done without having to run the vehicle to keep chargers working. Also carrying a 10x10 popup for shade. The Panels could also be used to monitor the Vehicle battery or two.. Almost feels like an Insurance Adjuster mobile office kind of setup. Do you have an Idea what type of Editing software is best for client Data information to be handled? I'm actually pretty excited about what your sharing. The side jobs that aren't thermal would all be available and conference attendance is there as well. What a great business for a Licensed Pilot...
Thanks for the run down. I’m studying for my part 107 just because I plan on using a drone for my channel. This has opened my eyes to a whole new world of possibilities. Could you give a run down of how to do certain types of drone jobs and maybe rate the difficulty?
What's really got me stumped is your link to the drone takes me to their site and it shows this drone, DJI Mavic2 Enterprise Advanced selling for $6500.00??? Great video BTW. Thanks
Yes, that is the price. Due to the thermal technology and ability to operate the attachments. It’s not a drone for enthusiasts. Also, that is not an affiliate link.
Wow ive only just spent $5K on a M2P with a flymore combo pack & some other accessories & now comes this, increadible dam I hate tje speed @ which technology moves.
how do you keep the batteries charged all the time? I've always heard that it's not a good practice to charge the batteries and leave them for days on end. But if you're "on call" with an emergency service, it seems that's exactly what you need to do. I have charged my batteries thinking I would fly over the next day or two then the weather turn bad for a week or so then when I could get out and start flying then they are only about 70% or so. So if you're with an emergency service how do you keep your batteries ready to go at any time?
Thanks for the video. I spent a lot of time researching this drone before purchasing it a few months back. There was not a lot of videos in English and not a lot of comparative footage. "Real job" stuff has kept me from "drone job" stuff lately so I haven't put the hours on this that I need to nor have I put the services out there just yet but that's coming. Thanks again for the video and definitely looking forward to more in-depth reviews of this model.
Man? I got to tell you. The quality is always crazy good, but this was on a whole other level! Bad enough you got me to get the Nanuk case for my M2P. Now you got me look lustfully at this bird.
I have been Contemplating this drone for our farm, but never thought of using it to assist with the fire department. My dad is a board member on our fire district, I may as him or the fire chief if they would be interested in having someone to assist with this type of drone. the fire department is mostly volunteer, so it may be beneficial.
hi my friend, we are looking for a drone with thermal vision to find ilegal hunters in a protected natural area, how log can it fly from the operator this drone, and perhaps you have some advice or recomendation to do. cheers from Uruguay. all the best, Miguel.
Great video Russ. Keep up the great work. This makes me more motivated to FINALLY get my Part 107. I’ve got a Mini2 for “recreational purposes”, waiting on the Mavic 3 release. Do you think the Mavic 3 will be released as an Enterprise Advanced model.
My two main gripes against the Enterprise is the Geo fencing. Unlocking can stop your operations dead even if you operate as a first responder agency. The second is the lack of intelligent flight modes like follow and point of interest/circle. Not sure why DJI withheld these on this unit. Our fire dept is going with the Autel Evo2 640T v2 for these reasons.
Yes, the geofencing unstableness is a major issue that I have experienced myself. As for the flight modes, I really don’t need them for operations with this drone. However, I think they could be added very easily with an update.
You can submit your department COA and have DJI authorize you to unlock everything . They will send you back the process to do it on the smart controller. The request should include the drone information on all drones you want to have the restrictions removed from.
Show me as much as you can about this drone, Russ! Also, if you’re able, I’d love to see a comparison between this and the Autel Evo 2 Enterprise equivalent
It is not possible for that price. The FLIR or thermal alone costs around that much as is. Thermal imagery is not necessarily advanced technology as its been around since the late 1960s, it is just very expensive to manufacture. We visited FLIR and it is just flat out costly tech.
Hi Russ, I'm bummed I bought my enterprise edition last year and the thermal version then was horrible so I got the other version. Now of course this comes out. You can't win no matter what always another drone coming. ALSO NO FPV FOR RUSS??????????? I was surprised
Hey, need some advice, I am a home inspector, level 1 therm, been using Mini 2 to inspect roofs for about 6 months. Thinking about buying a mavic 2 dual (160x120) just to start with thermal drones. Then get the Advanced if it goes well. Are the accessories the same for the dual and advanced? Would this be a mistake and should I just bite the bullet and pay the $7k for the advanced? Thanks
Are the flight restrictions the same as every other DJI drone or does the Enterprise gain some special access? I'd invest in this, but it's already tough to fly in some places even with planning. I don't mind the process, but doing something at a moment's notice may be a problem. I've been denied some authorizations because my flight was less than 24hrs from the request
The "Enterprise" label does not grant it any special access when it comes to air space. The same restrictions apply and the same authorizations would be necessary.
If you look at the numbers, whatever the price of these drones, licensing, advertising (Web sights and such) it really is a very low start up Business that needs relatively low training and certification.
RUSS, YOU said that you are usually piloting the mavic2 pro. I have been dealing with an issue with a battery. It won't charge stops and one blinking green light in addition I can get it and place it in the compartment and automatically turns itself on no button push and hold? Dji had me send it to a local dealer but said batteries were not covered. I only had the drone 2 months. What ever they did it worked for a bit. But I started to blink again? I only have 23 charge cycles on it? Would you happen to know how to reset the battery ?
I’m going for it!! Already applied for business license, procured a domain name, wrote a business plan, talked to existing clients (I’m a restoration carpenter/supervisor). Studying now for 107. Your video turned me onto the Enterprise/thermal aspect. Thank you!!!

Hey! I just wanted to ask how you came about getting that job?
Now that I have spent the money on my mavic 2, the new Mavic came out, and now the Advanced...I'm gonna cry!
What new Mavic?
Thanks for this. I am the "drone operator" for my fire dept and we are just about to purchase this very drone. So the more videos on it the better for me!!! :-)
Awesome! If you have any clout, suggest using the link in my description! I don’t get commission, but it still does help the channel by driving traffic there!
So awsome!!!
how much demand for this is out there these days?

You build your own cinematic drones?
DJI has drones to create cinematic footage. Look at the Inspire series and the Mavic 3 Cine.
Add Matrice series.
Soo much money! When I win the lottery I'm definitely getting all of this..Thankyou for all of your information.
Quick question: FAA says you gotta stay away 2000 ft away from wire towers
Do you get a waiver to do inspection to get that close?
Thanks in advance
Will be very interested in seeing more of the thermal footage in fire and rescue situations as I am trying to get one of these drones as a proof of concept case for the fire and rescue service I am an on call firefighter for. I have talked them into using my Air2 for now!
Yes, Interesting and very good seller
Thanks a lot for your enthisiasm and information, your english is perfet for me (french)
Thanks a bunch. I knew this was coming for a couple of years, and I'm still languishing. I guess it's just age, and trying to figure out how to be useful. Thank you! Real estate is a wonderful start and a great way to build up your savings!
Hey Russ, That E Bike is cool. I keep seeing it and they are fast and clean. love it!
I fly a M2 enterprise dual. I am discovering that two new batteries will start the “safety” discharge in 3 days. Makes it very hard to be on standby for a search is one needs a hour to charge a battery first. Have you experienced this yet with the new one?
I use my enterprise advance for land surveys and bought 4 extra batteries.
Do you use the RTK?
just watched your video very interesting, the Port Authority of NY and NJ was looking for drone operators for bridge inspections a couple years ago. i am doing real estate sales and definitely do have a need for a drone like this thank you for all the information you have provided
Great video, Russ. As usual. Two topics I'd like to see in your follow up to this. 1) Mapping capabilities, and 2) uses for the loudspeaker. I assume it's not to play Ride of the Valkyries (Wagner) while surfing. 😀
Just thought of #3: what drones compete with this one?
Great questions! I will do it!
Valkaries is a good idea..just saying..
Now, to find the best Part 107 course 😁
Great video my friend 👍
Ya know, I’ve been watching you since you’ve gotten your first Mavic (I bought mine soon after) and have watched you grow your channel over time, keep up the great work 👍
Have you used it for your first responder interests? Or are you just saying that to satisfy DJI’s product reviewer conditions from West Taiwan?
I haven’t, as they haven’t called me at all. I am ready at a moment’s notice to assist with anything!
The M2 Dual thermal has a very low res thermal correct, and the M2EA has the 640x480 thermal? The dual seems like a waste because at night in the dark without the visual camera, its almost useless where a 640x480 you can actually make out a decent image.
this is something i meed to look into .
i like the havoc inspection part..
Thank you.
Russ, great info. Looks like a very nice drone. Will be watching for followup posts.
How great would it be if you could swap cameras. One drone and clip on DJI cameras for different uses.
Hey does the Autel EVO II Dual 640 Compare to the Mavic 2 Enterprise? The price is much less for the Autel.
I have the Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual. I can see the design difference in the cameras. But, other than that, what is the difference between the Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual vs the Mavic 2 Enterprise Advance?
Nice drone for $9000. Did you get this as a freebie, or do you have to return it? What do you thinlk about the Matrice 30T?
ive been using one for last few months.. love it.. but will we be peaved when the mavic 3 Enterprise Advanced Thermal Drone comes out :(
Hello, does Mavic enterprise have Radiometric or Non-radiometric thermal imaging? Thank you
great video! I have been flying recreationally for 3 years now and have decided I am missing some money opportunities so I have studied and taking the 107 test next Friday. Great vid! Just what I was looking for. Awaiting your next in depth UA-cam vid about the Pro 2 Enterprise Advance. Thanks!
Thank you drone 51 after reviewing this got to get one thank you
Great video on a very capable drone - yes, please for sure to more on this subject..

And a bunny!!!! 😂😂 great video 👍
very cool presentation thanks. I like to have one Drone. how do Get a grant help to purchase the drone and start my own buie ss any suggestions?

Awesome video as always Russ and I can't wait to see your next video on the Enterprise Advance and what this bad boy can do

Ha! Well thank you!
Very interested in seeing more video. Thanks for the info.
So, flying over the water may make you lose control on your drone?
I have a question for you, would you consider using the DJI Simulator as ‘fly time experience’?
Good video Russ. Be great to see more about this drone.
How would you be able to do crop management with this drone? Would you need to go through drone deploy or something similar?
Russ that was a great video, and I would definitely like to see more videos like that.
Keep up your great work and reviews.
Thanks! Lots of time into this video!
Is now possible change the emissivity?
I have been Contemplating this drone for our farm, but never thought of using it to assist with the fire department. My dad is a board member on our fire district, I may as him or the fire chief if they would be interested in having someone to assist with this type of drone. the fire department is mostly volunteer, so it may be beneficial.
Absolutely! Keep watching, as I plan to use it a lot in this way!
hi my friend, we are looking for a drone with thermal vision to find ilegal hunters in a protected natural area, how log can it fly from the operator this drone, and perhaps you have some advice or recomendation to do. cheers from Uruguay. all the best, Miguel.
Great video Russ. Keep up the great work. This makes me more motivated to FINALLY get my Part 107. I’ve got a Mini2 for “recreational purposes”, waiting on the Mavic 3 release. Do you think the Mavic 3 will be released as an Enterprise Advanced model.
Anything is possible!
@@adat26 Hi, Chris. is there an Link for that case?
Follow the POI is for fun.
Not pros
Is this drone compliant with that new drone stuff that will be here in a few years?
I'm not sure. I think so.
Hey, is this drone using the new smart controller or the old version?
The old one. The SC2 is not compatible with this drone.
Really useful and amazing video! I think this is an amazing business opportunity for folks!
When you are providing imagery for insurance companies who is analyzing the shots?
Show me as much as you can about this drone, Russ! Also, if you’re able, I’d love to see a comparison between this and the Autel Evo 2 Enterprise equivalent
hello.
is it possible to change the range of the minimum and maximum temperature?
thank you.
So I hat was the top price point?
great video. thank you
A Great Presentation , Thank you .
I have a noob question for you…..does the smart controller increase the flight distance of the drone over the regular cell phone controller?
No. It’s actually less, unfortunately.
@@51Drones thanks for the info (and the videos), saves me some money for now……cheers
By any chance do you have any information about where to purchase thermal drone under $3100?
It is not possible for that price. The FLIR or thermal alone costs around that much as is. Thermal imagery is not necessarily advanced technology as its been around since the late 1960s, it is just very expensive to manufacture. We visited FLIR and it is just flat out costly tech.
I have wanted one for three years
Hi Russ, I'm bummed I bought my enterprise edition last year and the thermal version then was horrible so I got the other version. Now of course this comes out. You can't win no matter what always another drone coming. ALSO NO FPV FOR RUSS??????????? I was surprised
Not yet anyway
What am I looking at for a price tag?...
Thanks
Don’t get the dual! The thermal is worthless. I just met with 2 law enforcement that currently use the Dual, and they are upgrading to the M30T
@@51Drones hey, Appreciate the reply but seems they are back ordered everywhere I look…
Excellent Video Russ!! Awesome Drone!! Please Include The Cost Of The Drone In Your Video.
I never do that, as pricing is a moving target. I always have the long term in mind when publishing a video.
Great video,
Really educational video .. Thanks 🇮🇪😀👍
Does it fly in rain?
Do you need a license to operate this drone?
How is it for surveying?
Can Mavic 2 Pro batteries be used on the Mavic 2 Enterprise?
Yes.
what editing software do you recommend?
Pretty cool I would like to add law enforcement use purposes you can map
crime scenes
At what websites can I find jobs for aerial inspection?
I want this drone for SAR work, but I need to work on some capital first.
Blue Thunder without the helicopter. I need it!
This quad has been out a little while hasn't it? Why am I seeing a couple videos about it suddenly? Am i missing something?
Yes. They are running a marketing push for it.
Love too see more on the app and the drone
Good video Russ, thanks :)
If you look at the numbers, whatever the price of these drones, licensing, advertising (Web sights and such) it really is a very low start up Business that needs relatively low training and certification.
Word to the wise. If you plan on making a living with this Enterprise drone then you will need to purchase two. You always need a back up.
Oh that’s a new one for me! Sounds like a quite faulty battery! I have no idea, sorry!
