Gout is a type of arthritis that involves sudden pain, swelling and inflammation of the joints.
People with gout experience sudden and severe attacks of pain, swelling and inflammation of the joints
These symptoms occur when there is too much uric acid in the blood.
This uric acid then crystallizes and settles in the joints.
If you have gout, certain foods may trigger an attack by raising your uric acid levels.
Trigger foods are commonly high in purines. When you digest purines, your body makes uric acid as a waste product
Now, This is not a concern for healthy people, as they efficiently remove excess uric acid from the body.
But, people with gout can’t efficiently remove excess uric acid. Thus, a high-purine diet may lead to uric acid accumulation and cause a gout attack
Foods that commonly trigger gout attacks include organ meats, red meats, seafood, alcohol and beer. They contain a moderate-to-high amount of purines
However, there is one exception to this rule. high-purine vegetables such as asparagus and spinach, do not trigger gout attacks.
And interestingly, fructose and sugar-sweetened beverages can increase the risk of gout attacks, even though they’re not purine-rich
Uric acid foods to avoid:
Avoid high purine foods:
These are foods that contain more than 200 mg of purines per 100gm or 3.5 ounces.
You should also avoid high-fructose foods, as well as moderately-high-purine foods, which contain 150-200 mg of purines per 100gms.
Here are a few major high-purine foods, moderately-high-purine foods and high-fructose foods to avoid:
All organ meats: These include liver, kidneys, sweetbreads andbrain.
Game meats: Examples include pheasant, veal and venison.
Fish: Herring, trout, mackerel, tuna, sardines, anchovies, haddock and more.
Other seafood: Scallops, crab, shrimp and roe.
Sugary beverages: Especially fruit juices and sugary sodas.
Added sugars: Honey, agave nectar and high-fructose corn syrup.
Yeasts: Nutritional yeast, brewer’s yeast and other yeast supplements.
Foods that you Should Eat:
You can consume low-purine foods
Foods are considered low-purine when they have less than 100 mg of purines per 3.5 ounces (100 grams).
Here are some low-purine foods that are generally safe for people with gout
Fruits: All fruits are generally fine for gout. Cherries may even helpprevent attacks by lowering uric acid levels and reducing inflammation
Vegetables: All vegetables are fine, including potatoes, peas, mushrooms, eggplants and dark green leafy vegetables.
Legumes: All legumes are fine, including lentils, beans, soybeans and tofu.
Nuts: All nuts and seeds.
Whole grains: These include oats, brown rice and barley.
Dairy products: All dairy is safe, but low-fat dairy appears tobe especially beneficial
Eggs
Beverages: Coffee, tea and green tea.
Herbs and spices: All herbs and spices.
Plant-based oils: Including canola, coconut, olive and flax oils.

Is the dress gold blue/black or white/gold?
Good information. At least there is some thing in veg to eat, otherwise doctors advise to starve. If a person is diabetic then there is nothing to eat.
Can’t eat red meats or sea foods but chicken is fine.
Tushar Dal, gobhi, peas.... Kha skte hae kya🤔
My doctor just said to avoid soyabeans and all related products with soya.
Sir High uric acid me mosambi le skte hai kiya
Is it ok to eat salmon fish and prawns??
I feel the information is half truth …. All legumes are protein based, especially beans, chickpeas, black gram. Similarly spinach and tomatoes should be avoided too. Eggs are high in protein….The informer here, has included their intake for ppl having gout…wrong information
you are right, doctor suggest my mother not to eat spinach, tomatos, meat and legumes
Yes
Uric acid is due to purine not protein.. know the fact first..
To piggyback on what @hillstraveller5352 pointed out, purines arent proteins but nucleic acids (what DNA is made of). High purine foods are just food which have a lot of cells, and cells contain DNA. Seems like there's less cells in veggies in general.
Eggs have never bothered my gout
Did they say asparagus is ok.i dont think so.and studys on high fructose its actually worse then red meat
bhai main bhra ka junk food khati hi nahi hun na oile cheez khati hun only ghr di sabji khati hun fir kaisse ho jata hai aisa

My first gout attack was 28 years ago so I have studied gout extensively to find relief.
I m having this gout problem
Having pain in feet 🦶 fingers
My gout never spike again after consuming raw green coconut water (it's a coconut that have low meat but high volume of water inside it and on the upper shell part, it got a little bit red on it, also i drink the the coconut water that is not sold in a package, but rather in raw form, straight up from the tree) everyday, and i think it even lower my gout.
how to remove gout permanently from body ?
@@TravelTheWorld000you can’t all you can do is manage it. Once you get the gout you’ll have it for the rest of your life but it’s highly manageable with a proper gout free diet.
I get at least one small attack a month it’s so annoying it lasts usually 48 to 72 hours. I get the attack in the same spot every time my left foot in my big toe and I worry it’s going to cause damage overtime. I have slowed down on how bad the attacks are by following the gout diet but I still getting them but not as bad. Sugary drinks gone alcohol gone sea food gone red meats gone processed foods gone. It’s hard to get away from a lot of the foods because even the good foods still have sugar. But I now drink water a lot to flush out my system I am now a tea lover sugar free tea of course and milk I eat more chicken because I can’t have red meats. Tart Cherries help with the inflammation especially during work hours I haven’t missed much working days only once so that’s good. If you are someone that is living with gout it sucks but it is highly manageable it’s all on what you eat and a little exercise helps as well.
where are you from
i too get this uric acid attack
may i plz know if u have good doctor to cure this
@@veenamotiyani4013 I’m from Canada I’m 33 yea my doctor told me to cut back on sugar and stick to natural sugar he said that was my big trigger of flair ups. He also gave me the gout diet which I’ve been following. Water helps if you can switch up your drinks to mostly just water and milk or tea or sugar free coffee then your golden but I found water flushes your system and helps stop gout from happening. This is manageable with the diet. Since I made that original post I haven’t had a flair up in months.
mere bhi aise hi hia
Most pulses and beans are not good for uric acid u need to take advice from expert
No need expert advice that is just waste of time..just check quantity of purine in food and decide.. do excercise and be active..

Can you tell me aboit knee? My right knee is swollen and my Uric acid is 6.4(female). How long it takes to be fine.
Don't cut copy paste without proper research.. you said soya can eat but soya increases uric acid.
Alcohol is my problem. I need to slow down on my drinking. Trying to stop completely but it's hard. And YES I have an alcohol dependence. So it's bigger than just gout. Lord help me.
We kept talking what food to avoid.. why don't discuss about what food to eat? Thank you
Foods that are okay eggs , chicken , any vegetables but be careful with beans , any fruits again be careful with pineapple it has more sugar then any other fruit but it’s natural sugar so it should be okay , milk coffee and tea are okay just don’t add sugar or creamers , ham is okay , wheat is okay stay away from white bread , rice is okay brown is better then white , soups are okay , chips are okay , cereal is okay but be careful check labels if it’s high in sugar don’t eat it.
Stay away from high amounts of sugar like soda and fruit juices , red meats , sea food , alcohol processed foods like hot dogs. Stay away from from sweets like chocolate , candy , cake , cupcakes , cookies.
My uric acid is high 7.3 .... Doctor suggest me don't eat red meat eggs daal and potato.
The information provided here is highly misleading do not follow it, most of the things mentioned in the video are not good for uric acid and can significantly increase the levels of uric acid specially beans and nuts and spinach, cauliflower, eggplants, tomatoes etc.
আপনার ইউরিক এসিড কমছে কি? কমলে কিভাবে কমায়ছেন প্লীজ বলবেন।
Beans should not use
Too fast and not very clear to remember the exact food's name effective in high uric acid.
Tomatoes are not good for gout I experienced !!
Nuts is high in uric acid
Mushrooms big no no!!
Milk.. Beans... & protein food is not good for gout & uric acid
Information provided is not completely correct as tomatoes, spinach, egg, legumes are included in food we can eat instead of food we can't eat when having a gout. So I will advice to consult a doctor rather than searching videos.
Kehna kya chaahate ho?
This information is highly misleading, how on earth are you suggesting to eat all lenitals and dry fruits and even spinach? Almost all forma of lenitals are high in purine so is the spinach and nuts

All nuts and peanuts are high protine contains,
TOTAL WRONG INFORMATION
Purins and proteins are two different things.
Purins are the cause of gout.
Proteins are an important amino acid used by the body to build fx muscles and create DNA within your body.
Nuts are low in purines and an important source of protein, particularly if you are not eating meat or fish.
Calorie high only.
