- Go wild with stripes! Can you believe this #naildesign costs pennies?!!...yep yep!!! The cost is practice and practicing #stripednails fun! Don't be afraid of trying stripes, it is a technique like anything else starts off frustrating and over time this #nailart gets easier! I start with a black chevron french mani and begin layering each stripe. Purple stripes, pink stripes and lavender stripes all toppled with mirror pigment dots i created from chrome powder and topcoat to create the perfectly striped diva nails! Nail art can be frustrating and this design is on the harder side, but it is a technique that is so fun once you get the hang of it. I don't try and sell products but with striping nails, the brush is more important than most any other thing. If you are having mass problems getting your brush to lay over the nail as you stripe it might be your brush. I only ever found 1 striping brush that worked for me and I owned it for over a decade. I used the old one to create my brushes I have now and altered it back to my memory of when it was new. I hope this o fo helps you!!!

i cant stand lots of my designs but my main goal always is to teach you everything i can while i still can........i have had to paint stuff that is so ugly to me, but as a tech, you have to be able to do it all and lots lots lots of times it doesnt match your taste, but it pays your bill!!!!! hahahahah :D so i keep painting! thank you. i love this too..for me, this is one of my favorites as welll. *high five*

The actual space of a fingernail is quite small, so practicing on a larger area is defeating the purpose ( in my opinion lol), so I am trying to start practicing on a teeny area to better prepare me for painting in miniature 💅 I love your work 💕💅👍😘👏
perfect. i just answered a question about this right above you with someone asking your same question. this makes me so happy. you are doing everything right. it is good to practice getting smaller designs on paper....paper absorbs extra water and allows you to work on your strokes more accurately and teaches you how to add water continually. keeping your paint thin is essential. as far as the stamp...i probably draw the 'nail shape' on paper 20x a day. however, i know id lose the stamp 40x a day! hahahahahaha you are doing GREAT!!!! I am so happy you are evolving your skills!
most be people that never have used a brush on their hands.
There are great silicone mats that have fingernail shapes printed on them that would work.
You could print out fingernails. Just make sure they are the right size.

These are really beautiful and exemplify the type of designs I enjoy creating. I’ve ordered your brushes and I’m eagerly awaiting getting my hands on them (pun intended🤪) I practice on paper first. I draw out the design with pencil. I actually haven’t applied the colour on the paper. I think it makes sense to try it this way first. I usually go right to the nail art tip with colour. Never thought I was artistic until I started to play with nail art. I’m struggling with thickness of lines. I’m not applying the right pressure to create appropriate thinness & thickness. Love your videos!!!

I have a question related to your previous video ..... When I made the flowers and the leaves , the design nearly covered the whole nail but when you do it ... It just remains prominent around the tip of the nail , I don't understand if this is happening because I make the design very large or some other reason .... I think that I should reduce the size of the designs .. Thank you
yes. this is common. you have to draw the size of nail you would like to make and practice condensing your strokes smaller and smaller until they begin to fit. it takes time, but if you start making a perfect flower and then begin shrinking it, it becomes easier and easier. It takes lots of patience and practice but it is a technique you can learn :D good luck and please dont give up!!!!
I need to find someone that can do this type of art in my area, NW Houston/Cypress, TX! Every shop around here is the typical nail salons. Nice places, but I want someone that does art and takes their time with their clients.

love your designs, I just subscribed! I am a nail tech and keep trying to find nail art classes and my search has lead me nowhere. I'm glad I found your videos. what did you spray on the polish to thin the pink ? was it acetone?
I thin my paints with water. See all my beginner videos to get started and not waste money. I work super hard to find artists like you so welcome and i hope these help you. Its VERY difficult to find real help in our industry and no one helped me. I understand the frustration but success is possible. 😊❤❤❤❤❤

I can't help but wonder what your clients do. other than model for you. I noticed, especially for juicy, whose nails are apparently, her own, you always say the design should last 2-4 weeks. I am a housekeeper. After a week, my nails usually look really beaten up. I use acrylic. The polish is on, but the nails themselves take a beating. I do know Juicy has a toddler. What is the secret?
she does graphic art. i have other clients that do hardcore work....but you have to have the right shape, length and topcoat for it to perform optimally.......and i have so so so much info about acrylic but i cant film it until i get help. doing 1400 videos on my own and getting nothing from youtube is too hard on me...to answer 200 questions a day is hard......i cant imagine how many there would be if i had chemicals on my channel too..so spread the word so i can do more! i cannot do one more thing without help. other channels get sponsorships from brands , friends and family etc who are into computers .....and they can get help....if i go with a brand i will have to sell products and i dont want to do that. i want to keep my channel free from ads and tons of advertisements. i want my viewers to be my help so we have a real classroom.....
I feel I've just had a brush with greatness. Believe me, I spread the word. Everywhere I go, people notice my nails, and I refer them to your channel. It won't put the nail art industry out of business here. No matter what are of town ,there is literally a nail salon on every corner: There can be no grocery stores, bu the nail salons are there.
Being in California, I figure there would be lots of young people who could help you.

Robin, two questions. How do I keep my art work from fading when I put on top coat? The design will look really good and then I put on the top coat and details fade away. Also, how do I remedy thick top coat? I will get half way finished with the bottle and then have to throw it away because it’s to thick to use anymore. Thinner doesn’t seem to work. Help?

topcoat melds your art together. if it disappears its because its too translucent when you paint the design. i had the same problem as a new artist. you have to get into the habit of adding a dot of what to each color and mixing it before you paint. it might look a little cartoony or overly bright but over time you will get used to it and when you topcoat, it all sinks down together and takes the edges off of harsh colors...in other words..paint harsher colors from the beginning....and topcoat THAT and see if it helps....question 2. it is essential for keeping the design clean and shiny for your clients........add wet and wild topcoat to your topcoat when it gets too thick. i thin all polish with thin clear polish, not thinner. thinner makes everything gross to me. sidenote: this doesnt work with dazzledry as it has a totally different recipe than normal polish and i cannot speak for gel. i am talking solely about regular polishes. always add thin topcoat to it..nyc or wetnwild both work. i hope this helps you!!!!

unfortunately ....they told me that. shipping chemicals/polish is so expensive when you do it in small quantities that it costs 2x more than the actual product until you send 1000000s of bottles and unfortunately the big companies know this. They use it to their advantage and do not care about quality as much as image...it's why they pay us so little. until things change, we will never be free to share what is best instead of whats most popular....and why would anyone popular want it changed when they get tons of free polish for giving shout outs etc? its so frustrating...until then, i use thin topcoats to thin down my polishes and i use thick and juicy shiney topcoats to finish the job. i frost the topcoat on like i would a warm cake.....this ensures it doesnt pull or streak. *huge hug* i am hopeful...even though i am sorry you cannot get the products you want....its why i stopped saying any product names unless its in passing. i think it should be about the art here.....i like it best that way :D
Robin, you’re the greatest. You take into consideration what people can and cannot get and teach regardless of brand. That’s great. It’s all in the details. Which makes it doable to figure out style and technique over brand. A truck that locals do is ship products to someone in the states and then have them mail it in to Guam. It works so I will get my dazzle dry eventually. Hehe.

You would do the blue just like I did the yellow and make a very thin blue as your background and then use a dark blue first a medium blue second and a light blue third for your paint and you can use any sheer glitter that reflects blue and your favorite color as the top! they certainly have.........and yet...sometimes when i see a bottle of old school glitter...the thick ones .............i get happy....hehehhe they are hard to come by now. i used to buy them in 4oz round bottles..do you remember those? i had every color.....
Yeah I remember really large bottles of glitters, but never knew the size of them. I had a purple one. I got mad my sister borrowed it and let it dry up.
