- Pilot's perspective in flying a Cessna 310Q from Palatka, FL (28J) to Savannah, GA(KSAV) in December 2023 (Departure Phase of Flight from startup toward cruise). This General Aviation (GA) flight was to check instrumentation and engine performance after maintenance activities in November 2023. Come along and experience the environment while flying the 1974 Cessna 310Q. Comments and Questions are welcomed!!
Not only is it nice to fly with you, but I really like how you put up your instrument readings up on the screen. Great work with putting these videos together. Not just a great pilot but great work putting together the video.
Rare to find an active 310 channel now days, thank you!
The videos are a labor of love and I prefer to share the experience which means a bit of work in post. Hope to keep them coming as time allows.
Nice plane and it looks like it was a beautiful day for flying. Thanks for sharing! It made for a nice escape from the snowy midwest where my airport is snowed in.
Indeed it was a beautiful day for flying. Near cloudless and low haze. Really enjoy the flight. Thanks for watching!!
Nice airplane. I like that nose view that manages to catch the compass in the shot too!
New subscriber here Colonel, I am extremely happy that I found your channel by chance today searching for aviation videos, thank you for your continued service and ongoing professionalism all of these years, and I look to keep following you weekly or when you posting new videos I sincerly thank you as I am in my senior years of age now and I always wanted to fly.
Thank you for watching. Please review the previous videos also. Lots of postings since 2010. Just building the advocacy for General Aviation. Stay safe!!
Same, except for the Sr. part.
Great video! Nice having you back sir
Yeah, just didn't have time to edit and post previously. Thanks for watching!!
I am glad to have found you and your channel; I often park in Palatka when I come home to visit. Hopefully, ill be able to fellowship with you on one of these occasions. Keep the shiny side up.
Did my PPL solo at Palatka, good work sir keep it up!
Love channel...great stuff... keep the great work
Nice Video, Thanks for sharing
Great video. Didn't see you fly in a while. You are never in a rush and very detailed. I fly and work the same.
Thank you. That deliberate pace is for safety as I age. Allows more focus past the flow and checklist. And yes, the same in my consulting professional approach. Cheers!!
@@billinga I'm 68 but I was always detailed and careful. I'm an anesthesiologist.
Would like to see a video on how you got into aviation - great work on your videos 👍🏼
Welcome Back
Happy New Year Brother
Thanks for taking us along on the climb! I love the 310!
I clicked like just because you uploaded a new video. Great job as always sir!
Thank you, more to follow.... I think LOL.. Time constraints prevent more editing/posting. Thanks for watching!!
Great to see you and wonderful video. Thank you for sharing. I am still using my 696 in our 310 also. Love these planes. Take care and good flying.
Thank you and stay safe!
Love your attention to detail 👍🏻✈️🇺🇸
Beautiful airplane. Nice to see the tach come to life.
Thank you. Yes, I have one lazy tach on the left. Sometimes takes a few minutes to come to real life. Have had the entire system checked and cannot find issue as yet. Planning to go digital in a year or so. Thanks for watching!!
Beautiful C310.
Great as always. Nice graphics
Are there non commercialized flight schools at Palatka? Moved to St johns not long ago. And my private license has been on my bucket list for 7 years. Love the view, smooth, steady, and methodical way of doing things. I assume you are a CFI or were?
Yes, there is one school based in the terminal at Palatka. Stop by and inquire. I am not a CFI, just sharing the experience to build interest in general aviation. Cheers!!
Great video as always Arthur!
Thank you Sushee!! Keep pressing forward also my friend!!
Great video! You asked what we'd like to see? Can you do a video on the 310 from cold & dark through startup? As someone who no longer flies in real life, I enjoy flying the 310 in the sim and would love to see some tips & tricks on flying this beautiful airplane.
Roger that, stay tuned for a complete pilot experience video. Thanks for watching!!
👍✅ love your plane and videos, keep em coming if you can. An update on annuals and costs would be nice. Only been 6 months since the in-depth review but whenever you have news
Thank you. Have a few more videos to drop shortly. Stay safe!!
I always like to hear performance numbers ie.....IAS, TAS, Fuel burn, percentage of power.... Love the 310s. Thank you
Love it!!!!!!!!!
great video. first time seeing your channel. I have a question. How do you add the airspeed indication on the youtube video?
Thanks for watching and welcome aboard. Please review the channel, 100s of flying videos. The graphics are overlays from GPS. While not accurate, they provide some sense of what is happening for the video. Cheers!!
Glad to see another video from you Art. As always, it's a pleasure to vicariously ride along with you. I do have one question. What device called out Rwy 27 and its length as were about to depart? I see that you have a Garmin 696, which I also have in my 310, but mine only calls out traffic and 500' on final approach.
Gary, thank you. The callouts are from ForeFlight and yes, still find the 696 useful. So useful that I have an additional unit on standby if needed.
Love it
Thank you Pastor!!
Are your engines to 047 or 520 and turbo or none turbo have vintage hydro friends who live on St John river very close to Palatine, watched many of your videos very well done, Christopher Ottawa canada and a past privat pilot owned many twins last Air craft piper Aerostar 600A non turbo, non presurreized 2200 nts at 8000 keep up the great video your panel looks like the best of the best
Chris, thanks for watching. In the C310Q are (non-turbo) NA IO-470VO 260HP. Good engine and even better in the cooler (more condensed) air. Is there any change you would like to these videos? Thanks again, Art
@@billinga yes how about second camera looking at your beautiful modern panel this really helps those watching on what is really happening in particular on approach. If you want more speed consider aerostar 600A non turbo very fast, super reliable engine that climbs 1800 ft per minute, rate click g o e engine 500ft per min, range 1000 as 1q00 nautical miles depending g on power setting, and 220 nts 800pft, just does not get any better, I put over 2000 hours in mine never had any problems, Christopher Ottawa canada
We sure like your style. Post some more videos; and don't change a thing.
Thank you for the vote of confidence. Will do!!
Is that the Intercostal water way, really cool , 150 miles per hour, what’s the cruising speed once you’re at altitude?
Yes that is the A1A toward the end of the video. Thanks for watching!!!
Looks like you upgraded your panel
Part of the renovation was the add Aspen 1000 MFD. Still working out the kinks but overall, works well.
Was the yaw-damper working? Seemed like the nose swung a lot.
This autopilot does not have a YD. This is the STEC 30ALT and the next target for upgrade. Right now, only have a wing leveler in current state of operation. Stay tuned!!
hoping the views can pay for it! @@billinga
nice plane and cockpit
Palatka has an airport? who knew, lol
