The Sora figure story: context matters. she said “lifestyle expenses” and that possibly meant entertainment according to the article. If I had an unemployed live in girlfriend who needed money for something like, taking a trip to the amusement park and I said “hey no I’m already paying for everything, let’s get you a job” and she sold something of importance of mine, I’d be pissed and over with that relationship too lol it’s not outright said but they way you mentioned it like the dude was just refusing to buy groceries or pay bills, even though she was the unemployed one, was kind of a bad take imo
Absolutely. I think the article is lost in translation into English as the term "expenses" could be very broad and I feel more English speakers first assumption is rent, bills and stuff like that. A more accurate term would be "luxuries" I think.
I dunno about #4 though. Your own partner taking something from you that you paid a lot of money for, selling it and keeping the money to herself, all behind your back? Seems like a terrible thing that severely damages your trust in her. Doesn't matter if it's a game statue, a painting, guitar you never use or anything else. Not sure if I would be able to continue the relationship for long, after a stunt like that.
She didn't "keep the money to herself." If you listened to the story, it said the police used a net term "living expenses." This implies she paid for groceries and other necessities. I believe if she "kept the money" as you say, then the story would have said so.
@@FUBARguy107 doesn't matter, not her stuff she deserves jail. You're only giving her a pass because she's female, you wouldn't if it were a guy doing this. Also it was 'lifestyles expenses' not 'living expenses', which is more like entertainment or make-up and shoes and shit like that.
I resisted buying it for quite a while, but I ended up really enjoying it. I would have loved to have played the sequel especially since it was to be based on a mythology that hasn't already been riffed on repeatedly in games and popular media.
I disagree with you on #4. That Sora figure was not hers to sell. If it was that bad, she should’ve asked first or sold something of hers first. The way the article you showed for number 4 is written, it seems it was more likely that she sold his figurine for "lifestyle upkeep" not living expenses. As in she wanted spending cash, she wasnt trying to buy food or pay rent.
I could go either way depending on which one. If she spent the money on food or rent, yeah its pretty irresponsible to be buying expensive toys. But if she sold it for things for herself, then fuck you, spend your own money.
@@juvenoiachild7675 The article has the figurine as only being around 40 USD. It also does not mention them as dating, but calls her an 'ex coworker who lives with him', while also saying she has no fixed address.
@@xil3ntkha0s Oh, I wasn't trying to justify her at all. Was more the 'how valuable' question that was floating around, as well as the 'but it's his girlfriend!' excuse given in video. A grown man having anime dolls or whatever it was is pretty sad but it was his property. She had no right to take it and sell it, regardless of what she intended to spend the money on. Glad she got arrested.

Don’t know about anywhere else, but here in the UK, if you want to advertise a discount you have to offer the goods at “full price” for at least 28 days before you can offer a discounted price.
Really disappointed with the take on #4. Even if having her arrested was a little overkill, selling something like that without letting someone know when it could hold a LOT of personal value to them is just super wrong. We all have things we’d never wanna sell even in our worst times no matter how seemingly insignificant it is. I’m sure there’s far more to the situation, but on a surface level the girl is just as much in the wrong.

Its not that she sold his action figure. Its that she took the liberty to steal his property and sell it. Thats not a keeper and i fully support the dude
In regards to the Kingdom Heart Figure story, she stole personal property. Regardless of her reasoning, that is criminal to take something of someone else's possession and sell it without their permission. Now, I see that there's different information about the story. However, that is not how you react if she was in a relationship. Even if it's for food or rent and your partner does that, that's still theft and there are other alternatives to settle things, like talking things over or break up with them if the person isn't taking care of their bare essentials. Two wrongs don't justify it
I mean, I understand number 4. If I was dating someone and they went behind my back and sold something I highly valued, especially without even discussing it with me first, I'm pretty sure the relationship would end right there, so doubt he planned to continue it after he called the cops lol.
They weren't dating and she sold it for lifestyle expenses. Falcon is totally wrong on this. And even if they were dating, Falcon would still be in the wrong.
I like how every gaming storefront does the strikethrough thing. Like how many 5+ y/o games are labeled as $60-70 on the Playstation store, and then show the discount as whatever percent as that, but it's at the store for $20.
#4: Wow... Falcon comes across as having never been in a relationship when he's just sweeping theft and betrayal under the rug like that... If you can't trust someone you live with to not pawn your stuff, you don't stay in a relationship with them. Period. #1: Good job, Activision. Now bring Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 to Steam.
Well until they give you the option to do certain Quest during the whole game and right at the end they forced you to do that Quest eff that. the game is terrible because of that decision
I loved this game and it got my little girls interested in Greek mythology. My 6 year old now has a crush on Hermes. I am really disappointed we won't see a sequel 😢
For number 4, that situation is basically like your girlfriend taking all your games and selling them so you can afford food or to pay rent. Sure, living is more important than entertainment but you paid money for all that stuff and it is your hobby, it could be one of the things that keeps you happy in your darkest hours, taking that away from someone is cruel and a figure in this situation is no different. It brought him joy having it so taking it away would obviously cause him to feel the way he did. Now, calling the police on your SO over a figure is definitely crossing the line in my opinion but I wouldn't put it against someone for doing it since it is their property and they are in the legal right to do so (in the US anyways). I feel like it should have been settled in private between the two of them.
If the price tag on that figure is what I think it is (100$+) then calling the police is warranted. Not everyone realizes how much a good quality figure really is.
Dearest Eagle Falcon person thingy. I absolutely love it when you narrate a video while intoxicated. Kindly keep up the good (and thoroughly entertaining) work.
Ngl, I can't help but suspect with the Kingdom Hearts figure story, since the article (in the excerpt you showed), says the girl was unemployed, the boyfriend probably had a job and was their sole source of income. Her excuse of "Lifestyle expenses" is probably her just wanting to buy something for herself, and wanting it while her boyfriend was away at work or not at the house. So she figured she'd sell something of his that he said was valuable for a quick good buck, so she could buy her thing.
Number 4 - Stealing is stealing and should be treated as such. She could've easily talked to him or leave him. Not steal his things regardless of what it is
Love how everyone who mentions #4 disagrees with falcons take on it, and I was upset hearing him talk about it. The GF was completely out of line and stealing and selling other people’s personal property should never be looked at as “ well maybe he should treat her better and reevaluate his priorities”. He’s the one with the job and paying the rent, putting a roof over her. She’s unemployed and a thief.
Fenyx was amazing. The puzzles got a bit too complex toward the end and it did suffer from being super long like all Ubisoft game (some people like that though), but it was so much fun. Would have been great to see a new setting with other gods.
Regardless of what the item in question is or why the money was needed, a significant other going behind your back to sell stuff should be the end of the relationship.
Number 4 feels like a less than great take. Like I understand that as it's presented it's like "Ha, that guy cares more about a plastic Sora figure than his girlfriend" but no. That guy cares more about the fact that his girlfriend stole from him. Theft is theft. If you need to sell things for food then you work it out with your partner. You don't just start grabbing their shit and hawking it.
This is gonna sound like a weird comment but I wanna say, Falcon, I like how you're 'loosening' up a bit through these videos over time. A year or two ago, most of the gameranx videos (while great), you had the same tone of voice carried through most of the video. IDK its hard to explain but in these recent ones, especially this one, your voice and tone are all over the place (in a good way!) and it keeps things entertaining, amusing and fresh. Please keep being more animated and silly.
I am really disappointed that we won’t be getting an Immortals Fenyx sequel, I really enjoyed the game and the DLC. Felt like it had a lot of potential.
Who knew falcon was a bird of many voices. American Aussie and Italian today unless I missed one. Much loved to all at gameranx for keeping us entertained on the daily!
#4 "Put in jail over an action figure." If the thing was expensive enough to cover her living expenses it was expensive enough to charge as theft. Grand larceny isn't waived just because it's an action figure.
I'm gonna need more context for that girlfriend story before I decide who's side I'm on, because unless there's more there, I think it's insane you'd side with the girlfriend, because regardless of what it was that she took, it was still theft, and theft is wrong regardless
Alright but a counterpoint to the Sora theft, don't steal people's things! The gf didn't talk to him before hand about selling it to make ends meet. No, she just straight-up took it and sold it without his permission. Nah I'd be pissed too.
I had high hopes for the Fenyx sequel. They didn't immediately churn it out, as ubisoft tends to do, so I thought they were taking their time and doing it right. The concept sounds amazing, I really wish they'd change their mind on that. I've gone through the first one a surprising number of times, it's so much fun to play (though the enemy scaling wasn't really done well)
I get that the guy at number 4 took his resolution to the extreme but one would think that Falcon being a gamer himself would understand the devastation a move like that from a loved one would cause. Yeah putting her in jail was going crazy far but considering how we ourselves would feel over a situation like this is it really that hard to understand his anger and sympathize over his loss( yes, that is a painful loss! ). I know it may only have cost between 50 - 100 dollars but damn that betrayal runs deep.
@@zathtanks not really that common if thats how you are comparing it. but its quite literally a bathrobe, just one that is socially acceptable to also wear in public
I think you're old enough to remember Kay-Bee Toys. They were notorious for doing the "sale price" stickers. They are the ones that caused the law to be put in place that you couldn't put prices that were never marked/sold at before.
You were hilarious Falcon 😂 You missed out mentioning the Starfield leaker getting arrested for stealing copies of the game though. Definitely should have been a bonus.
10:00 Bless the editor for looking up the interview. I definitely wouldn't be calling the Police on someone for stealing my figure so they could pay rent or food but given what term the lady used for "expenses" I'm going to be a little bit more harsh. You don't steal other people's personal things they value for sentimental reasons so you yourself can buy personal things you value for sentimental reasons.
Charles has said in interviews that doing the Mario voice has been getting more difficult and painful on his vocal chords the older he's gotten, so he's likely just retiring because of that. 🤷♀️
For Number 2 - the "sales price" is actually higher than the price in stores thing - very illegal in the US as well. It is a type of sales fraud; you aren't allowed to keep something on permanent sale either. If something goes on sale for longer than a month or something, it must be removed from sale at some point for at least a week IIRC before it can go back on sale. This is to force companies to slash prices rather than present a fake price to consumers for extended periods of time. Steam has the same thing, actually. If there is a mini sale before/after a major sale sometimes a major game from the category is excluded so as to prevent steam from getting hit (as some games were going on permanent sale) and having to ding the publisher/developer.
With the Dell story - I know nothing about retail or any of this, but I always figured Dell would sell the products to Walmart, and then Walmart then sold them at whatever price they wanted (usually MSRP).
This - but more like Costco and WalMart get special versions of the products with some features removed so the products are similar but even more cheaply made. Like they remove a port or they make the roll of toilet paper 1/4" narrower. That kind of thing.
I know a lot of Red Dead community was actually upset it was just a straight 50 dollar port because there have been rumors for a while that it was coming as a remake with the Red Dead 2 engine.
I think for the KH figure being sold,it is more about a trusted partner stealing your property and doing what they want with it. If anyone were in a relationship like that were their partner steals from them, get out of it! That is blunt distrusting and disrespect to you.
As someone who lives in Australia I can say the price thing happens all the time. My wife just bought Timberland shoes for our child online that were cheaper than the discount price on the Timberland online store. If a retailer is over stoked or can't move a product they can sell them for super low prices. I thought that's just the way it was.
I’m pretty sure they promoted Mario’s VA to ambassador because he was pretty old and they figured he would be better off working somewhere less stressful so they can have him around longer. That and it’s possible they would have a future game with a bit of dialogue, and a possible another Mario tie-in media where they can get the new VA for.
As an FYI, re the Dell monitors, it is consumer law in Australia, that any "sale" or "discount" price, vs it's retail price, must line up. To stop exactly what happened in the Dell case - hey look, $2000 off, now just $1999, but it was never on the shelf for $3999 in the first place. How companies think, in the information age, where you can just Google a product and be presented with multiple source options, they can get away with this is crazy.
I like that the Mario impression reached a volume that it distorted the mic. Made it extra funny.

Not gonna lie, this has been one of my favourite videos in a while. The impressions had me dying 😂
Number 4 - Stealing is stealing and should be treated as such. She could've easily talked to him or leave him. Not steal his things regardless of what it is
By far the most undesirable and effortless thumbnails for these type of vids
Number 2 happens so much that I actively got ridiculed when I tried to tell an old classmate that it was in fact illegal and how to easily report it.
Falcon making an unexpected, but accurate Mario immitation made my day haha
Gotta love how the bird just gets more hyped and more hyped as he gets to the end of his lists these days. The Activision cheater bit warmed my heart.
I am really disappointed that we won’t be getting an Immortals Fenyx sequel, I really enjoyed the game and the DLC. Felt like it had a lot of potential.
Falcon's Mario impersonation is just... _chef's kiss_ ❤
Who knew falcon was a bird of many voices. American Aussie and Italian today unless I missed one. Much loved to all at gameranx for keeping us entertained on the daily!
Between Italian and Australian, Falcon's voice work this episode, *chef's kiss*
#4 "Put in jail over an action figure."
If the thing was expensive enough to cover her living expenses it was expensive enough to charge as theft. Grand larceny isn't waived just because it's an action figure.
If it was taken without permission (stolen), then it's better not to SIMP over her. She doesn't care about his opinion, why should he.
agreed glad alot of people are seeing how stupid he sounds if it was a ring he would say something completely different
OMG Falcon you've got me rolling with the Activision "doing so good" bit
I'm gonna need more context for that girlfriend story before I decide who's side I'm on, because unless there's more there, I think it's insane you'd side with the girlfriend, because regardless of what it was that she took, it was still theft, and theft is wrong regardless
why would you need more context? she stole lol
this has to be Falcon’s funniest video yet
are we just not gonna talk about how good those mario impressions were?! 😂😂
The weirdest thing this month is hearing positive praise for the Red Dead port
The age old question "What would you do for a klondike bar!?" fits number 4 exactly!! LOL
I like the Mario impressions 😂
The Mario impression is perfect. Falcon has anyone ever told you that you’re really good at impressions?
Omg... We seriously need falcon to do more Mario impersonations. Made my day
Props to Falcon for the many spot-on impressions, Crocodile Dundee had me rolling 🤣
Could have sworn the Starfield leaker/thief would have made the list. That whole situation was to funny
Too*
@@PlazDreamweaver 2*
Falcon’s Crocodile Dundee absolutely made my whole day 😂
Good video like always
Thanks
Falcon did more accents and impressions in just this one video than he did previously in his entire career.
a yukata is not a "samurai robe"... its literally just a summer kimono. in the west we would likely compare it to a bathrobe.
Nah it’s like a white dude in a t shirt n khaki shorts.
@@zathtanks not really that common if thats how you are comparing it. but its quite literally a bathrobe, just one that is socially acceptable to also wear in public
I particularly loved the cheeky nature of Falcon on this video. Especially just before red dead scene. Love it keep it up.
Number 4 was completely deserved, let's be honest here.
I've laughed harder watching this video than any video I've watched from you guys. Falcon's Mario voice is epic!!!!!
I think you're old enough to remember Kay-Bee Toys. They were notorious for doing the "sale price" stickers. They are the ones that caused the law to be put in place that you couldn't put prices that were never marked/sold at before.
8:14 Killed me. You are a legend Falcon!
These Mario impressions WRECKED me 😂😂😂
Falcon going off the deep end is the best gameranx lore
You were hilarious Falcon 😂
You missed out mentioning the Starfield leaker getting arrested for stealing copies of the game though.
Definitely should have been a bonus.
Weird Gameranx stories of August 2023: Falcon, that aussie accent was so unexpectedly good I got jumpscared.
Damn. Falcon coming in hot with the snark! LOVE IT
10:00 Bless the editor for looking up the interview.
I know a lot of Red Dead community was actually upset it was just a straight 50 dollar port because there have been rumors for a while that it was coming as a remake with the Red Dead 2 engine.
between the Mario impression, the Australian accent and the "Activision are good" thing at the end, Falcon got wiiiiild on this video !!!
Honestly I think the really weird news is that Dell is still a company. I had no idea they still existed.
i feel like Falcon has been gradually becoming increasingly sarcastic and facetious over the years and it makes me giggle
👍🏼
Falcon I don’t know if you script your own scripts but this one was wild! 😂 No country was safe in this video 🤣 love the Aussie accent as well 👍🏼
I think for the KH figure being sold,it is more about a trusted partner stealing your property and doing what they want with it.
Let me know when Gameranx have a playlist for all of the monthly weird gaming stories. I like these.
8:29 I hope this becomes a running joke and a themed secret war between Italians and birds between monthly “weird news” and Jake’s Friday updates
Falcon doing mario impressions is all I need in life.
Elevated Falcon energy is a vibe and I'm here for it
Falcon's Mario impression was the best thing I heard all day. It's gonna be my ringtone.
