      Then you think about it, the Kurt "Perc" Angle, Jeff Hardy story has a lot to tell as well about how TNA cared about their talent mental and physical health too... Really WTF Dixie did with this Company. CM Punk and other WWE stars talked about how WWE did not care about talent health, but this "uncare" is on another level in TNA. And in the end we get stories like Daffney tragedy.

    Ya know what? As uncomfortable as Piper calling out Russo for Owen's death might have been, I will forever insist that it's justified. The whole gimmick that led to his death was Russo's idea, and it was spite booking cuz Owen didn't want to do a more tawdry angle. I don't blame Piper for taking his opportunity to chew him out at all.
    Also, I knew about Daffney's death, but I didn't know the details. That poor woman, I hope her soul found some peace.

    • @isitoveryet9525
      @isitoveryet9525 9 місяців тому

      Disagree. The only reason it was said was for ratings, which makes it gross. Plus, McMahon has shot down plenty of unhinged Russo gimmicks, & he easily could’ve shot down that one too….especially since Owen was scared of it to begin with. The boss should get the blame, especially since VKM was the who had final say on everything. A lot of blame should also be on the company who did the harnesses. It could’ve been done safely, but they fd up bad.

  • @mickmickymick6927
    @mickmickymick6927 Рік тому +43

    The Daffney thing was worse according to what I've heard. she was encouraged by those backstage including Mick Foley and Vince Russo to take big bumps in order to further her career, except these bumps did serious damage to her and the company still didn't give her any push, she was always treated as a minor character. Then she took a really big bump which left her unable to wrestle but the company released her and didn't help her with medical bills. Unable to work anymore and still suffering physically, she eventually took her own life.

    • @medes5597
      @medes5597 11 місяців тому +10

      Daffney said Foley told her not to take such big bumps for weekly shows and if she really wanted to take such bumps, she should save them for big shows.
      Russo however pushed her to do more and more, claiming that he'd write more material for her and give her a push. However behind the scenes he was running her down for not being "hot" enough, and saying that all she could do was bump so they should just use her to her heat.
      So Russo is guilty as charged but Foley seems to have been trying to help her.

      But her main story is that a casting director saw her on tna, and thought she was ridiculously over the top and rejected her outright. As bad as TNA was to talent, I don't think a guy thinking you were bad on a show is their fault.
      It definitely wasn't cool how they tracked her down and made her life miserable but I'm still skeptical of her story about it costing her a career. I'm not sure her career would have gone much differently without tna.

      true, atleast 75% of the promo makes sense but then towards the end he just starts saying random stuff. Hilarious tho

    The Punk thing is wrong. Punk fight with Hart was just a thing that happened. Teddy Hart fights everyone, he's a dick. They told the roster to choose between TNA and ROH and several people chose ROH.

    It’s easy to completely trash TNA despite the ups and downs they outlived WCW & ECW (As a wrestling fan going back to ‘83 or so some of my early tv memories was watching Wrestling at the Chase with my family) TNA is in many essential for Pro Wrestling (Very interesting video Hogan’s arrival in TNA i’m sure turned a lot of fans off (I stopped watching during the Hogan era) Jordynne Grace has without a doubt let the body building effect her (Which is a shame she had something) Daffney deserved so much better in life (it’s even more heartbreaking that she got very few tributes after her passing)

      yeah the fact that TNA is over 20 years old and still alive today is amazing. They have a cockroach like capability to stay alive. RIP Daffney Unger too

    Okada is overrated. That's why he can't get over outside Japan. Your big finisher is a short arm clothesline....please. if he wasn't tall, he'd be in a dark match every show

    You can say “sex”, “groping”, and “suicide” on UA-cam. Shit, for a while, TNA had a _wrestler_ named Suicide.
    That aside, I liked the Feast or Fired match.

    Chyna didn't leave WWE she was fired as Triple H got with Stephanie McMahon. As this is why WWE got rid of her as they didn't want a performer's bitter ex hanging around the locker rooms.

    I find it hilarious that Kevin Nash slapped Samoa Joe over a shoot interview when he's practically the author of "Shoot interviews." That segment he cut on the "HORSEMAN" was not scripted. He says it was, but he's a fuckin liar.

    TNA is a prime example of Russo’s stupidity and always trying to reinvent the wheel. WCW was selling out 30-40k seat arenas in the 80’s by…having great wrestling matches. Steamboat vs Flair is one of the greatest rivalries no one talks about. They put on 5 star matches every time they worked together.

    Foley won't "take drugs", so he won't try opioid medication. When used properly are a TOOL/life improver of chronic pain patients.
