They didnot even launced it globally to this date. Look at HOK, now ml is threatened by HOK. Forget about tournaments, 1st they should increase players number base. The world knows LOL is huge also thye should make wild rift similar to pc version. LOL is LOL, taking away its uniqueness just not worth it.
@@jick484HOK realeasing on Global is because Wr is failed and HOK is already a well made game that has a player base, they both owned by Tencent. In EWC, one of the Analyst for the HOK is actually League Caster, and he is also there as Analyst for League Pc and TFT. You normaly can't do that.
The biggest problem is that Riot tried to treat mobile esports the same like pc esports and not more like the FGC with open tournaments and large brackets. We tried applying for a tournament license in Wild Rift but the people in-charge took two months to reply and we were limited to like only eight teams for the tournament. While people did try to make tournaments without Riot's approval, Riot was quicker to shut these tournaments down rather than providing for grassroots. In the Philippines, it is common for mayors, malls and schools to host their own tournaments in MLBB and it should have been the same in Wild Rift. However, Riot was too busy sterilizing their esport because they felt threatened that some city with their $100 prize pool was going to overshadow them.
Damm, I didn't know that. Local tournament for MLBB and HoK is HUGE here, it's like some university or school and numerous grassroot community have tournament for those two every months lol. What a shame, now I know why Wild Rift is not like that. Not because there is no community, but Riot being dumb.
@@dearickangelonej.legaspi6686 Most schools like to do it actually, the game promote healthy competition and team work among students, and it's such a nice socialization tool for new students to connect among each other. The key here is to supervise it, schools can ban you from participating if you get caught playing the game on ongoing lesson, and you can't participate if your grade is low or you have repeating test. Since tournament usually happen after middle and last test, it's a nice motivation for students to try not to repeat the test and join the numerous festive activities that usually happen after test.
This is exactly what happened to us when wr was still in the covid area a lot of the tournaments that we joined was never sponsored or even acknowledge by riot it was only the ESL Open qualifiers that was even supported and that tournament was so unfair because we were basically already getting matched with tier 1 teams at that time.
Its just a problem of coming too late, MLBB and other games have already taken over the South East Asian scene and nobody is willing to relearn and regrind everything that they could just have on MLBB.
Nah the game was a flop, why would you put 4 skills on a mobile game where the controls are on the screen? it is also needed a high end phone to play it
I know a ml player when I see one😂 and wdym it was made for high end device? My phone can run it just fine with stable 90fps and with my low end Oppo device with 4gb ram it can run 60 fps stable with medium graphics@@RedHairShanks-bb3dc
No, the problem was with Riot's arrogance, Riot thought the League of Legends IP will do everything by itself. And that led to big marketing mistakes and even to big gameplay issues. No proper advertisement, no proper communication and collaboration with content creators and streamers, no proper communication with the game community, issues with voice chat, huge issues with player report system. And all that on the market full of competitors.
I don't know if it's as simple as that. Sure they were late to market and maybe have more complexity, but speaking from the eSports side, why watch WR when you can watch LoL?
Hi hells! Such a shame it failed esp u being part of the early esports scene I think they forced the global esports too much without proper marketing for casual players, they had less players overall
Yo Hells, I am a multi season Grandmaster in SEA server and I am done. The only thing that made me eventually quite is THE LACK OF SERVER IN MY COUNTRY AND BROKEN MATCHMAKING that pair me with 4 weak player if I play consistently good every game
I actually climbed faster playing sloppy and even outright feeding rather than dominating lane and going SVP so many game at a row. That, took all the joy out of the game knowing it doesn't matter if I play well or not so I stopped. Currently in HoK, it's matchmaking still lacks and put bad teammates but still more bearable than WR and it got server in my country.
@@adamszabo2874 in terms of sheer population and mobile gamers India is a very lucrative market for any mobile phone games company. Sorry for speaking from the perspective of a business, not a little kid
mlbb is like a crack epidemic, ive known grandmas well over their 60s play this game, its a gaming hub for couples, its lunch break game, when students come home they pull their phones out and immediately queue up. kinda unreal how a few 3rd world countries can make this big of a ripple in the industry, well its still an epidemic cause people cant even tell to put their own values when it comes to ingame cosmetics, the dev's have been slowly increasing the prices and adding more and more redundant skin tiers to charge more, kinda sad tbh but why would the players even stop now with thousands of dollars worth of cash and time wasted into this slop
It's reminiscent of 2018 pc league 4 me atleast, no mythic items or anything unnecessarily complicated other then their billion menus you need to go through to find anything
You're entitled to your opinion, but man, that's actually kinda rough. Like half the champs and like 70% of the items aren't on wr yet. Ranked is a joke. Skins cost a kidney and the good skins are gacha. And the communication between community and devs is completely non existent
@@afox1689skins cost the same as pc, and there are so manyyy skins that arent limited to gacha, you guys always exaggerate it, like hello does garden party mal, liss, soul fighter nilah, mecha galio not exist?? Those skins are one of the best skins in wr and they’re not behind gacha
Because Riot has ZERO idea how the mobile gaming scene works... simple as. end of. Tencent literally asked them to make mobile league earlier, but they didnt wanna so AoV/HoK came in
To add on even further, Riot was also too busy trying to sue MLBB for the longest of time due to potential plagiarism in hoping that MLBB would shut down. They should have one-upped them during those period and fought for the APAC region. The battle's already lost for Riot in grabbing the mobile market now.
Yet HoK is winning. It's about sincerity, RIOT ISN'T SIMPLY SINCERE ABOUT PLAYER BASE, they didn't even release the game half of the Asian country L O L! (All pun intended)

After reading comment, I think people aren't aware that "After fully acquiring Riot Games in 2015, Tencent asked them to turn League of Legends into a mobile title. However, Riot declined and claimed that the game could not be replicated on smartphones. Tencent then created their own mobile MOBA, Honor of Kings (with its international adaptation known as Arena of Valor)." Riot itself gatekeeps its own game that's why it flopped. HoK wouldn't exist if Riot agreed to port it out for smartphones.
The problem is that wr esports didn't start from grassroots unlike lol esports. If they did the same with lol:wr then they could've been a contender in the mobile games market. Also all I want from that game is to move my map to the right because my dominante eye is on the right
the problem is lol and WR are TOTALLY different games, unlike the honor of kings in china and mobbing in south east Asia, that was the main issue with this game
Wild rift is also is not phone specs friendly. you need like $300 phone to run it smoothly, while with Mobile Legends you can play it with $100 mobile phone perfectly fine. mind you most of SEA is developing country
Riot should learn from this massive blunder for their upcoming Valorant Mobile. They were money driven, forgetting the core elements of what makes a game good and great, its the community that enjoys and understand the game. Mobile concept is new for Riot and they should know the community they will build for mobile will be new and different from the PC. Instead of jusr throwing a Global eSports event just for cash grab was their downfall. Hope they make Valorant mobile somewhat more relevant for mobile gamers. And give Wildrift a fresh launch or start into mobile genre, cause it deserves a 2nd chance.
biggest reason of their failure is that they haven't released the game in south asia yet where mobile gaming far more popular than pc and console. and they are neglecting the market for 4 years now.
@jessm.sandler7187 yeah but the thing is south asia is also as big of a market as south-east asia. and we people are also a big spender. i think whoever did the market research for riot forgot about south asia all together.
I only played MLBB bcause I wasnt able to play LoL on pc anymore, but as soon as WIld Rift came out I switched, but for me what matters the most it's the lack of champions available on Wild Rift.
I believe that one of the main issues is really the fact that the game itself is basically competing with its original pc version. Why burn time grinding in wild rift if I can just spend it playing the og LOL? If they found a way to connect the pc version to the mobile version, then that would have been a real game changer. Aside from that, other issues come from game difficulty and overall rewards being too little (a lot of people clown of the expensive ml skins, but as far as giveaways and rewards go, ML is way too generous compared to Wild Rift)
No, they don't compete with lol pc, because they have the advantage of acessibility and mobility. You can't bring your pc anywhere you want like your phone. Their main competition is other mobile MOBA like AOV and the biggest one MLBB.
It's funny you say that because the whole reason I and a lot of other players play it is because we don't want to be stuck in a match on PC for 30+ minutes 😂
It's also the mmr rank system that players are having issue with, plus the 50 odd hackers that were in top 100 that recently got banned 🙃 its a mess atm how were there that many hackers getting away with it???
I dont know much about in other regions but the exclusivity and lack of community building led to its downfall. In the Philippines, It was gaining traction from the mobile community and organizers like LuponWXC (JustML), ULVL (Juicy Legends) and others were planning build it into one of the games that can compete with Mobile Legends. Sadly, Riot announced that only a few can organize tournaments with WR which destroyed the plans of building the community. If they only let it grow first from grassroots, it could have flourished into one of the best mobile esports title in SEA.
They harassed the shit out of Shinboo, one of the most popular influencers who actively promoting local tournaments at that time. Unfortunately, he was banned for no reason. Atleast he's having a great time in hok at these moments.
They think they're DC, Marvel, 40k Warhammer, where the IP would just sell themselves. They're like the Angry Birds devs who think it will sell if it has the Angry Birds IP on it.
MLBB did hard marketing when they started. They were sponsoring influencers left and right. Funded thousands of giveaways and price money. I know this coz I once became one. Money was coming in crazy. In addition, their game runs on any device. By the time WR entered the mobile market, MLBB was already untouchable.
there was also the issue about riot not allowing local tournaments to be created, some content creators wanted to host a tournament but riot didn't allow them at all hence the lack of tournament scene in the locality.
I'm a casual Wild Rift player since day 1, and in these 4 years I have never cared one bit about its competitive scene. It's just not fun to watch: Two perfectly sync teams almost never fighting and ending the game at minute 5. I’d rather watch some Wild Rift streamer struggling with bad teammates or watch 1v1 ASL Brood War.
There are ALOT of factors that not only why Wild Rift Esports got killed, but the game as a whole. 1.) The gatekeeping. SERIOUSLY, this is prevalent to the Philippines. People are really thinking they are more superior because they play Wild Rift. 2. Riot’s arrogance. This company forgot how they started from scratch. They think that releasing a game from a bigcompany means it’ll have consistent player count. 3. This leads me to the next point, Riot’s poor planning. Besides the fact Riot killed every esports scene BESIDES China and how some regions are not released yet. The decisions they have done within the game is pretty terrible. The main example is the predatory monetization. 4. The market does not favor Wild Rift, at all. The reason why Pokemon Unite even strived longer is because it’s a very casual game. Mobile MOBAs cater more onto casuals, Wild Rift does not. This can also where HOK steps in, because there are still signs of casual play in that game. Other notable reasons are: - Bad marketing strategies - MLBB stepping up from their game - Very heavy for some people’s phone - Terrible decisions (this is so bad I put it twice) - Very late to come in the scene Argue all you want about Wild Rift > MLBB, but it’s everyone’s fault here that Wild Rift declined, and why I think MLBB became a better game and a shell of their former title. I doubt Wild Rift will bounce back.
The Real no.1 need of wildrift is a whole new map that looks appealing and not looks boring💯 And different from lol pc and wildrift because lolpc and wildrift map looks boring no life look. 2nd is courier lik dota2 6th - Global/Public chat 7th - Allchat 3rd - Non skippable basic fundamentals and mechanics of the game tutorial/Translated. 4th - lessen walls that reducing too much vision or replace a trees instead. Why? because noobs aren't patient on how to use vision especially when the vision block too much and this will lead to new players 'too much pressure". Trees aren't block too much vision, walls does. 5th - Put a system that after a game reach 23mins,Both teams can decide to vote as' DRAW OR CONTINUE'', It needs 6players voted DRAW to end the match and result as a DRAW. This recommendation will help the problem "long matches" in low elo. But don't apply this on competitive scene. 9th - Don't make the game braindead, too ez to play but don't make it hard to play too. This recommendation will make stay players and gain new players also. 8th - Optimized the game to midrange device because as on a state of this game now, This laggy also on a midrange device even u have high internet speed. U can't make this game for high end device only because it willl reduce players. 10th - Always use an appealing and alive theme for your game design. This will bring joy and energetic mood to players. 11th - Put a competitive tab ingame and post or do livestreaming on official page and different platforms so all players is updated.!
In 2015,Tencent was told the Riot should make a mobile game about the league!Riot didn't care the mobile games!here right now,Honor of King took the the chance!it was night years before!
agree,, I am so confused when wild rift was released, and after that they created a wold event. I mean how would people watch the world event if they dont even know much about the game, and the players.
The only problem with me and my friends is the actual size of the game. You can start playing with only 2gb content downloaded. And after you will see a fully installed size of 20gb of game, only skins and fancy skin animations. So your kind'a good 64gb phone can't hold it in. Really stupid to not give an option to limit excess animations and videos.
Reason I don't want to have any moba game in my phone to begin with, I'm the type who wants a hit of nostalgia every couple weeks, so it maybe my fault I have this game in my phone, but the size is too big and irrelevant & useless both in keeping and redownloading the game. There should be a delete option after having to view a skin or something. Most of the size are from skin trailers, skin polys & texture and EFX like new fireball. Currently I don't have the game
Trust me. If SEA had the money and the space they wouldnt be playing mobile either. Mobile games are much more like browser games here in the west. There is no Blob Volleyball championship either
Mobile game will always have their place. Mainly cause of their accessibility. You can't bring your pc or laptop everywhere, but you can bring your phone everywhere, so it make sense to just play on your phone when you have nothing to do
Altough i agree that playing on pc is much more better than a phone. If we couldnt afford that luxury in the first place then whats the point? Having a phone for ur daily routine that can also run games is more than enough for the most of us
No, even on PC, League just can't compete with Dota. Why would anyone want to play moba that is like 10-20% share of the market? Garena damage to LoL in SEA is massive, even when LoL is not managed by Garena anymore. Also, you seem to underestimate mobile power. PC players number are miniscule to mobile because of casual players like your common uncles, and aunties who never played any PC games. It's not because these people don't have money, but they just don't care about PC gaming. Hardcore PC gamers are very few
Mobile legends is actually a fast paced and 10-15 minutes average game... meanwhile league of legends is slow paced and 30 minutes game. There's no way mlbb players want to switch to League of legends.
wild rift is not slow paced at all, but i agree that games take too long, esp cuz of mechancis like the nexus shield if u get an inhib before 15 minutes just extend gamea for no reason
@@Krek_ori compared to lol pc it's faster but compared to mlbb it's too slow A normal match in lolwr is about 20 min if both teams are competent while ML it's 15 min
Nah they're different and Wild Rift is way easier than the pc counterpart and there's stuff that make the game easy accessible (in mlbb some of these elements are either outdated or not present)
As a former manager of a small esports team for wildrift here in the Philippines, it was supposed to be successful mostly when we were in the Covid era. We had a bunch of local tournaments and other tournaments that famous streamers hosted, but riot later shut down those tournaments due to the tournaments kind of being a hindrance to the tournaments that riot hosted. We were already gaining a huge amount of audience but riot stopped us. The viewer and audience problem is already expected since mlbb, aov, and other moba games are already here. But we were already trying to help riot to gain some audience for wildrift yet they stopped us until wildrift slowly faded and it's esports future shattered. There's still a small playerbase and a handful of teams of wildrift right now still waiting for another local tournament that anyone could host. until then, the future of wildrift esports will continue to fade which is quite dissapointing.
@@drago939393 It is but there's also just something about it that hindered its growth. I think they added too many keywords too quickly. The core game is excellent but updates started undercutting a lot of it.
I think WRs problem, especially esports-wise, is that the game fails to differentiate itself enough for ppl to watch it on top of LOL. Almost all ppl that I knw or spoke to would all say "the game is great but y would I watch this when I can just watch LOL?" I think thqts why icons flopped so much after the first few days, ppl were interested and when they saw it, its like watching a LOL gold ranked match. Being so similar to its PC version makes the game comparable. Its like if blizzard made overwatch league but in console version, who would watch this when they can watch the PC version with much higher skill?
The funny thing is, a lot of MLBB personalities, streamers and players alike are the ones that invested in WR in the Philippines. Those same rivals Riot thought were the sole reason why WR is still in fact played in PH although not as popular as MLBB.
MLBB and arena of valor have mastered the mobile mind of consuming a game ! from a basic loading screen in the game to how to download content necessary for the game to function leaving room for even low end devices to work! to the massive revamps of champs and great graphical upgrades theses games get! they know how to retain the mobile players! because one a mobile player leave your game! you lose forever unlike pc !
Even if they want, they can't... (unless they use a third party company to do it.). I mean, China and India relationship right now is not very well...(Riot is owned by Tencent, a Chinese company.)
In the Philippines, Wild Rift has had a hard time competing with MLBB for some key reasons. WR tends to attract a very specific subset of the player base, who seem to care more about the game coming from the West than the game itself. This quite often forms an elitist line in the WR community, as members feel that WR is inherently superior just by virtue of the developers being the ones that give them the League of Legends experience. And so, gatekeeping occurs, alienating certain gamers who would be fine with faster games with less complicated mechanics, such as those offered by MLBB. MLBB, on the other hand, fosters a more accessible and diverse player base, welcoming gamers from all regions, regardless of skill level or background. Having played WR myself, I feel like the heroes move a little bit slowly, and the games usually drag on much longer. Btw, in the recent MLBB MSC, prize pool has risen to $3 million. That's even higher than the current prize pool of DOTA 2. And it's only bound to rise further.
@@cyruss9455TBH I like HOK but I still like MLBB more. HOK lacks of set up tanks ( my main role) makes the game fights less dynamic and rewarding compared to MLBB. It is very similar to other mobas like Aov, Marvel War where its all about spamming damage skills and killing opponents without the need of proper initiation. Almost every skill no matter if it is for cc, utility or mobility has damage. Basically every hero can kill so team skill synergy is not really as important coz any one of your team mates can make their own play making the team fights more like a brawl than a chess match like in MLBB.

@@whattareyoudoing I played HOK global and reached GM in like two weeks. Probably just gotten carried by chinese players coz I'd always get to team up with some. However I am not saying that HOK is easier coz a brawl game is always 50/50 especially when you're outnumbered. In MLBB one good setup can wipe out the entire team making the players be more careful in clashing. I love watching esports and for me MLBB esports seems more like a chessmatch than just brawl. Very seldom HOK pro players amaze me coz what I see are just constant clashing. Even the bushes are not being utilized as much by HOK pro players compared to MLBB coz maybe there is no point in ambushing anyway when HOK lacks setup skills that would make the enemy heroes unable to react to a gank like how setup tanks do in MLBB. In HOk you win team fights if you outnumbered your enemy team which is how brawl games are. I like HoK it is fun to play but it still has not built its own gameplay style like how MLBB did for its game. It is still very similar to many mobile moba like Aov, Marvel war ( brawl game). I am waiting for more hero releases and updates and maybe then the gameplay style will advance to more than just brawling for me. Disappointingly HOK released a new tank hero and guess what? He can deal big damage too instead of just tanking. Like what I said almost all heroes in HOK are made to deal damage and that is what takes away team role dynamics.
@@Moon-vb3xti agree with the bushes in HoK lmao the most useless thing in the game, also the broken roamers that deals so much damage even with tank build like Dolia and DongHuang
What I can get out of LOL PC and WR situation in my country is that Riot's marketing and advertising strategy is noticeably terrible. Back when LOL PC was in Garena's management, things related to LOL PC was all over the place on Facebook, from guides to esports' drama. But then the contract between Riot and Garena was expired and things just went downhill. I can only see very few posts about LOL PC (mostly about T1 fanposting thingy and the upcoming Netflix series) and even rarer with WR. It's like Riot just rely solely on their fame from LOL PC and do nothing.

zero priority for the global people. no global release yet for 4 freaking yrs. close to no priority for game marketing(they really thought people gonna throw away the mobas that came before and start wr just cz it’s the mobile version of league). when pro play was around they couldn’t implement an in game tab for esports section, but when viego got released, there was a marketing tab for the ruination book. i guess, promoting a friggin book is more of a priority to them than the game’s own esports scenes. there was no promoting for the big esports events like horizon cup and icons series(wr’s version of worlds) across social platforms either. all the priority is in china. cool stuffs, features, marketing you name it. i guess, the only priority for global people is to giving skins only. never gave i ever played a game that’s in beta phase for this long. and never have i ever seen a massive gap between the chinese and global versions in other games as well. i just think they don’t believe in mobile gaming at all. had so much hope for this game when i joined in season 2. now it’s hard to say what the future holds. just looks like a cash grab game for now. and there’s also the big issue with map hackers, that’s currently going on in this game. don’t know what they’ll do with this game overall. it’s the best mobile game i ever played(not even exaggerating). i genuinely had the most fun playing this among every single games i played from every single genee in a mobile device, gameplaywise. i believe, the potential of this game is through the roof. it could even potentially surpass league in the future if the game was properly prioritized and loved by this god damn company. so much potential, but such a waste. both sad and tragic to see. anyways, just sharing my current thoughts here. could be wrong on the stuffs i mentioned as well, who knows.

Wild rift has some cool features but mlbb has been my go to for the past 8 years. It’s where some of my closest friends and I had the most fun when we didn’t want to play console games and wanted to play a league like game. Wild rift came out and we could never fully get into it. It felt like such a tedious and boring experience to grind for all the characters and skins I wanted. Hence MLBB is king in my heart ❤
They released it too late, but the real issue was the lack of local marketing. Games like AOV and MLBB already have huge fan bases in SEA, and Riot didn’t establish a strong local presence (if they have a team, it’s likely very small and lacks the resources to compete). This is a valuable case study: even with a globally popular IP, if local markets are already dominated, you need a strong local strategy and resources to capture market share.
it is ironic, arena of valor/mobile legends which is a clear clone of league overtake league. and league which is a clear clone of dota overtake dota LMAO
Mlbb and arena of valor didn’t overtake league, not even close. And the people who worked on dota are just the same dudes that worked on league. They’re both moba, yes, but I wouldn’t say clone since both do have different mechanics. Many people from Asia wasn’t even interested in dota 2, there were more people that played the first dota.
@ALean-y2dwhat are on about? MLBB eSports is the second most popular eSports only behind Lol PC, Dominated mostly by SEAsians in the highest competition and also moonton tried east Asia as region to compete in International however, was not competitive probably due to the low popularity of Mobile Games East Asia.
That's pretty hopeful for the WR, a late game who had been 4 years late will have to go back to the start and slowly gaining their fanbase and revenue. Even after failed lawsuit for the second time, they have at least have the decency to stay active in hopes to be back on the game.

It's still a mystery for me why Riot cant make a "Riot Month Con" event in October/November and integrate all their esports event into one big celebration of their games. During the off days of Worlds we could have Valorant, TFT, etc. games that could culminate in a super week of multiple grand finals for their games that would expose their existing playerbase to their other IPs
lately, what they've been doing is a lot of grassrooting events which is actually better for the community but with the launch of HOK globally, the competition just got harder.

Tbh, the problem with Wild Rift is, it doesn't make itself better among the other games. Visually it's much better than any other MOBA out there, same with how fluent/smooth it is, the champions, mechanism etc. But they failed in impact, marketing and yes they did come late, but I feel they could easily draw crowd from other games if they did something different.
I personally tried playing Wild Rift. But the problem is that the game continuously logging me out automatically and It's just keep on saying "Unable to connect to server". It's so annoying.
In the MPL Indo league yesterday, the number of live viewers for the RRQ vs Fnatic Onic match even reached 700 thousand viewers, that was only on 1 channel, I think they were just late, if they had come earlier than MLBB I think they would have survived
AOV/HOK was supposedly made as LOL's mobile equivalent after Riot rejected the idea of a mobile LOL. Years after realizing the *MASSIVE* missed opportunity, Riot decided to make Wildrift. In many aspects, WR is *indeed* the BETTER game. From the graphics, map design, lore, characters, skin quality, etc... It's a *far* more superior title, even in technical aspects like *optimization.* The attack and targeting logic in this game is *LEAGUES* better than MLBB's *"Enemy in front, but I'm the system, so I'mma target that creep first."* So, what went wrong? It's not just the tournaments. Tournaments don't bring in as much players as people think. The main reason for Wildrift's downfall was its own community. The wildrift community, similar to its stereotypical PC counterpart, is a bunch of degenerates; toxic towards players from other games, especially MLBB. They will gatekeep WR from foreign players, often berating those who try to play it like other mobas. This created an uninclusive environment, and coupled with LOL's persistence on sueing Moonton, resulted in a situation where *NOBODY* wanted to play the game. This game is similar to another huge title that initially dropped on mobile about 3 years ago, *"NEWSTATE MOBILE."* However, in the case of Newstate Mobile (NSM), it was plagued with optimization issues and glitches that the devs *NEVER* bothered to resolve a year after launch. Furthermore, they partnered with what we call "Cancer CCs" like "Wynsanity," who only really promote in-game products and never do anything to build a healthy community. This CC would ignore the issues plaguing the game, resulting over time in loss of players as they got fed-up by the devs' lack of action and Wynsanity's reluctance to shed light on the issue, claiming it wasn't his job, despite being the game's ambassador. In fact, Wynsanity is the same person that contributed to the downfall of another recent title, "Warzone Mobile" (WZM) because they wouldn't admit that the game had optimization issues, and kept gaslighting the community, even going as far as to spread misinformation about WZM's state by posting an altered video of WZM where it supposedly ran at 120fps, which was soon debunked for using frame interpolation and motion blur. These disingenuous people also plagued their discord community, which are often filled with people that never cared about the game, but are there to just shit on people that do. Not only that, Krafton, the publisher for NSM, was a company with a history of ignoring technical issues. PUBG pc, for example, still crashes to this day, which is insane as the game is nearing a decade old. So, TLDR: NSM died because of devs' lack of tact and greed, which reflected on their choice of ambassador, Wynsanity, who is a greedy and irresponsible CC, who spawned a bunch of greedy and irresponsible people to make their community, which, in the end, killed the game. Like I said, Wynsanity is a "Cancer CC." And their success hinges at the success of established games like PUBGM and CODM, which became successful not because of them, but because they were generational titles. But... these mfs claimed they were the reason for said title's success, which tells a lot about their personality.
you need an icon. a team or player like faker that make the viewer feel excited. this will build the hype right before the tournament started. MLBB already have them. everytime those team/player play, the fans are making noise in social media so the words about the game spreads even more. also watching those "icon" plays, makes people want to play the game right after watching them. keep doing that and your game will have huge loyal fanbase
As an Avid player of Mlbb, WR failure hurt me a lot. I was excited for the game. They came too late and didn't even fully release globally, especially in most countries in Africa.(Do they seriously think there're no Gamers in Africa?💀), they've even banned Vpn players lol. I just Downloaded the game so I'll have to see for myself.
From a technical perspective, Wild Rift is already a more stable game with more potential improvement than OG LOL just because it's not built on top of 10 year spaghetti. The fact that Wild Rift is underperforming will just reinforce RIOT to retain the outdated game engine mess that LOL is using.
One of the problem they encountered was the poor launch, which continued for a few months. Pings are sky high, frequent disconnect, and getting penalized for something that wasn't the player's fault. I played WR since release and could only stay for 1 month, till it got too frustrating to play because of high ping. They shifted their focus and fixed the problem way too late, alot of the player already left the game.
Another issue was that the devs promised a console port and it never happened which made players mad, the voice chat issue that the devs constantly promising to fix every patch but constantly kept getting delayed, oh and i remember when riot ruined rank matchmaking by pairing bronze ranks with masters and then instead of apologizing they instead blamed us
i hate playing on mobile and quit lol but i swear i'd probably come back if they included wild rift's movement control scheme. fuck clicking 9000 times per minute
Look, wild rift is good, I'd dare say it's starting to outpace the original lol in terms of content, but just like what he said, you cannot expect for this to immediately be recognized by the audience and be acknowledged as one of the big moba competitors, they need to plan more, and invest in a slow but sure growth.
The problem started when it was proposed to them to make a Mobile version of LoL but rejected cuz they think it wouldn't be worth it but Mobile gaming is rising in Asia, they rejected this idea they failed to cease the opportunity and that's how MLBB took their time to build their empire.
that's why they flop they want a mobile version with a 10-12 mins gametime yet they don't reduce the prices of item, cd of skills and movement speed of champions. that's why the average game time of wildrift reaching about 20-25 mns. smh
I was that person who grinded mlbb before wr released and only played mlbb because i didn't have access to play lol pc regularly. But when wr was released i tried selling my mlbb account but really hard eventually i just gave it out because i didn't want to play 2 same games. I still play wr to this day and honestly it's struggling, if they had released and gamble on the mobile market that would've been better. A gamble to start a mobile game earlier with either success or failure compare to gambling on its success years later than the copy.
You're wrong. Most games actually last 20+ minutes unless a team is overwhelmed and decides to surrender. On my 1 hour break at work, I never have time for more than 1 game.
Do you think Riot Games will succeed with 2XKO?
They didnot even launced it globally to this date. Look at HOK, now ml is threatened by HOK. Forget about tournaments, 1st they should increase players number base. The world knows LOL is huge also thye should make wild rift similar to pc version. LOL is LOL, taking away its uniqueness just not worth it.

It's hard to tell, there's nothing I haven't seen yet except the rumored longer lifespan unlike your average FGC that releases another game after
The biggest problem is that Riot tried to treat mobile esports the same like pc esports and not more like the FGC with open tournaments and large brackets.
Bro SCHOOLS have MLBB tournament😂
@@dearickangelonej.legaspi6686 Most schools like to do it actually, the game promote healthy competition and team work among students, and it's such a nice socialization tool for new students to connect among each other.
The key here is to supervise it, schools can ban you from participating if you get caught playing the game on ongoing lesson, and you can't participate if your grade is low or you have repeating test. Since tournament usually happen after middle and last test, it's a nice motivation for students to try not to repeat the test and join the numerous festive activities that usually happen after test.
@@dearickangelonej.legaspi6686 whats wrong with it? its fun for the people that plays the game

And all that on the market full of competitors.
nah, just look at Honor of Kings global right now. going well, even taking old MLBB players and talent to play their game.

They're like the Angry Birds devs who think it will sell if it has the Angry Birds IP on it.
it seems riot forgot their roots then, especially the roots of league esports and esports in general anyway
MLBB did hard marketing when they started. They were sponsoring influencers left and right. Funded thousands of giveaways and price money. I know this coz I once became one. Money was coming in crazy. In addition, their game runs on any device. By the time WR entered the mobile market, MLBB was already untouchable.
Dude how can they sit in that cramped up goblin ahh posture for hours and hours 💀💀
there was also the issue about riot not allowing local tournaments to be created, some content creators wanted to host a tournament but riot didn't allow them at all hence the lack of tournament scene in the locality.
😂 ahah same
There are ALOT of factors that not only why Wild Rift Esports got killed, but the game as a whole.
Other notable reasons are:
- Bad marketing strategies
- MLBB stepping up from their game
- Very heavy for some people’s phone
- Terrible decisions (this is so bad I put it twice)
- Very late to come in the scene
Argue all you want about Wild Rift > MLBB, but it’s everyone’s fault here that Wild Rift declined, and why I think MLBB became a better game and a shell of their former title. I doubt Wild Rift will bounce back.
The Real no.1 need of wildrift is a whole new map that looks appealing and not looks boring💯

Mobile game will always have their place. Mainly cause of their accessibility. You can't bring your pc or laptop everywhere, but you can bring your phone everywhere, so it make sense to just play on your phone when you have nothing to do
Thats a big IF since western companies like to cater to western audiences anyway so I doubt your statement would be true
Nope Mobile gaming would grow and in a country like Japan is slowly growing faster.

Coming too late ,

The funny thing is, a lot of MLBB personalities, streamers and players alike are the ones that invested in WR in the Philippines. Those same rivals Riot thought were the sole reason why WR is still in fact played in PH although not as popular as MLBB.
MLBB and arena of valor have mastered the mobile mind of consuming a game !
from a basic loading screen in the game
to how to download content necessary for the game to function leaving room for even low end devices to work!

And now MLBB and WR had a New Contender now named Honor Of Kings and they getting better and better compared these 2 Games.

But then the contract between Riot and Garena was expired and things just went downhill. zero priority for the global people. no global release yet for 4 freaking yrs. close to no priority for game marketing(they really thought people gonna throw away the mobas that came before and start wr just cz it’s the mobile version of league). when pro play was around they couldn’t implement an in game tab for esports section, but when viego got released, there was a marketing tab for the ruination book. i guess, promoting a friggin book is more of a priority to them than the game’s own esports scenes. there was no promoting for the big esports events like horizon cup and icons series(wr’s version of worlds) across social platforms either. all the priority is in china. cool stuffs, features, marketing you name it. i guess, the only priority for global people is to giving skins only. never gave i ever played a game that’s in beta phase for this long. and never have i ever seen a massive gap between the chinese and global versions in other games as well. i just think they don’t believe in mobile gaming at all. had so much hope for this game when i joined in season 2. now it’s hard to say what the future holds. just looks like a cash grab game for now. and there’s also the big issue with map hackers, that’s currently going on in this game. don’t know what they’ll do with this game overall. it’s the best mobile game i ever played(not even exaggerating). i genuinely had the most fun playing this among every single games i played from every single genee in a mobile device, gameplaywise. i believe, the potential of this game is through the roof. it could even potentially surpass league in the future if the game was properly prioritized and loved by this god damn company. so much potential, but such a waste. both sad and tragic to see. anyways, just sharing my current thoughts here. could be wrong on the stuffs i mentioned as well, who knows.

I have a lot of fun playing wildrift it is what it is.
League is irrelevant in SEA compared to dota. So glad it is tbh.

watching wild rift mobile is pointless, since we all know the best players are on pc
And here comes the maphack frenzy.
It's a *far* more superior title, even in technical aspects like *optimization.*
The attack and targeting logic in this game is *LEAGUES* better than MLBB's *"Enemy in front, but I'm the system, so I'mma target that creep first."*
So, what went wrong?
It's not just the tournaments. Tournaments don't bring in as much players as people think. The main reason for Wildrift's downfall was its own community.
The wildrift community, similar to its stereotypical PC counterpart, is a bunch of degenerates; toxic towards players from other games, especially MLBB. They will gatekeep WR from foreign players, often berating those who try to play it like other mobas.
This created an uninclusive environment, and coupled with LOL's persistence on sueing Moonton, resulted in a situation where *NOBODY* wanted to play the game.
This game is similar to another huge title that initially dropped on mobile about 3 years ago, *"NEWSTATE MOBILE."*
However, in the case of Newstate Mobile (NSM), it was plagued with optimization issues and glitches that the devs *NEVER* bothered to resolve a year after launch.
As a former dota player MLBB is the best transition i had from pc to mobile
From a technical perspective, Wild Rift is already a more stable game with more potential improvement than OG LOL just because it's not built on top of 10 year spaghetti. The fact that Wild Rift is underperforming will just reinforce RIOT to retain the outdated game engine mess that LOL is using.
Problem: Map hack
Riot Solution: Sell set of skins
wild rifts was harder to play than its competitors thats why mobile gamin should be played alot easier compared in pc
The problem started when it was proposed to them to make a Mobile version of LoL but rejected cuz they think it wouldn't be worth it but Mobile gaming is rising in Asia, they rejected this idea they failed to cease the opportunity and that's how MLBB took their time to build their empire.
that's why they flop they want a mobile version with a 10-12 mins gametime yet they don't reduce the prices of item, cd of skills and movement speed of champions. that's why the average game time of wildrift reaching about 20-25 mns. smh
I can imagine Ranked matches.💀
They just didn't market it properly. I love playing Wild Rift, but I never saw any of this.
