Couple extra notes: I was mistaken about using AM on the Pungent Blight, it can't be resisted - but Divine Guardian/Sacrifice is still effective. Also, a few classes can completely ignore the spore mechanic by immuning with bubble/ice block/dispersion etc, however if those people get the spore on them they still have to move to enable everyone else to stack properly. If I missed anything else let me know in the comments!
Taunt bubble is really only viable if you're solo tanking which ultimately doesnt add much value/only complicates the fight in most situations. You have to sacrifice not only the 90% damage increase that will make tanks top the meter late phase but also your best defensive ability shield wall/divine protection during his most critical tank DTPS phase. Also consider having your Feral druid/DK/Warrior taunt for stacks during his windows with zero inhale stacks. With good planning you can have a hysteriad cat with 60% dam increase late phase cranking 30k DPS. The tank Debuff is a gift for the raid to use especially during prog as this alleviates the DPS check issue.
Tank tip - turn off righteous fury, get out of bear form and defensive/frost stances after you have tanked or you WILL pull aggro with your 90% increased damage buff.
Shadow priest can ignore all spore stacking with Dispersion Hpals/Mages can ignore one set of spore stacking with bubble or Ice Block. Obviously, if those classes get a spore, stack up.
to clarify Hpals can ignore an ENTIRE set of stacks with bubble. Our Hpals stand on the side in melee and never stack, never have to move, and can melee for mana.
Unlike at professor, the maliboo goo at this boss will show as a big green pool. This is very easy to spot. People failing here will most likely also wipe your raid on defiles at LK, or shadows at BQL. Therefor use this boss to identify + minus dkp these (WoW classic) players every time they stand in it to avoid problems later
Seems like a very doable early heroic fight. Not easy - but doable. Having someone (preferably maybe the holy paladins) call out when there's two spores in melee so you can quickly say "go back left" or "go back right" so the melee player can quickly reposition might be useful, and depending on your melee/ranged ratio having someone from each ranged side ready to run into melee if their side doesn't spawn with the spore so keep things balanced (and also switching places with the other ranged group if two spawn on one side - with the person calling our which direction to run also nominating who moves to the other side if that happens). And maybe also having a policy for the ranged to shuffle either left or right if goo is thrown at the same time (not sure if those ever line up, but just in case) so everyone stays close while dodging the damage. Keeping is as simple as possible is probably the best bet.
Seems like a "follow directions/do the mechanics" check where you arent scraping every last dps out but just want to cleanly do the mechanic. For some guilds that makes this a fairly simple lockout 1 Heroic boss, for other guilds they are already wondering how Usual Suspect is going to fuck this one up.
@@donaldjabibski4223 *clears throat nervously* Yeah, I'll admit I can be "that player" on occasion. I do mechanics when needed though - but if I can get away with something cheeky to get more DPS I'm very likely to do it - much to the concern of whatever healer I'm standing near who notices me trap weaving (yeah I'm a Hunter - and at least I won't be weaving in ICC, finally).
@@lockekappa500 Oh that's good. Will be very useful. Hopefully there's no synch issue with them like my guild had with Anub'arak healing (took us a while to figure out there was an issue, hence not killing him until the second week on heroic).
Couldn't there just be a WA for spores like PC from Anub? Just number people 1-3 and just assign the bigger/smaller number to run out in the case of 2 melee spores
Hey Joardee, I have no issue slingin some appreciation cash for the patreon. Just for clarification, will those docs remain on patreon only or will there be a video covering the loot guide? If not, that's no worries. I can respect the hours and hours of work put into those things. Cheers
Honestly In general I think most people won't really need to stack after the first AOE, like maybe the first week or two but the 2nd pungent comes so close to enrage anyway, generally with a bit of gear don't think people will really get the second one. Also one that should eventually be solo tankable by a paladin (or even using a feral to help take stack to give more time)
Shadow AM doesnt reduce the dmg of pungent blight so why should we use it there? There are a lot of abilities that cant be resisted so AM doesnt do anything. For example the Pact on BQL isnt resistable either
I love this! For the healing side would you say this feels better/worse/the same compared to Twins in terms of raid damage? My guild typically runs 4 healers in 25 H ToGC (2 on Jaraxxus), and will most likely be doing this normal week 1 and 2. Curious if we'll need to have a shaman flip resto.
The passive aoe damage is roughly equivalent not significantly different than twin valks was, the tank damage is significantly higher, and there is a random raid spike damage roughly equivalent to a soaker on twin valks who is stupid, has never done the fight before and literally constantly runs into the wrong color orb. If you do twin valk with 4, expect 5 for festergut, because unlike twin valk, your healers can’t just stand still and pump, but instead need to move for goo and randomly are targeted and stunned for 6 seconds (which would reduce your healers down to 3) on top of the higher base numbers.
@@lolpaladins Thank you! Watching the fight, it kind of looks akin to Valk aoe + Alg tank damage, with maybe slightly higher spikes on the tank. Healing for my group only gets rough when the aforementioned soaker lets every orb through. We'll post up a resto shaman week 1 and see how rough it is.
we just wiped 5 times because someone always fucks up the spore mechanic , if there are 2 spores at melee 1 has to run out simple as fck but people just don't understand it i guess
Tanks need to get at least 2 stacks or combined with festerguts damage its over … you should aim for 3 stacks for sure… if you arent on 3 ull need pain supp or whatever to survive
@@Marc4294 This isn't really true, since it still does arguably less damage than a Festergut auto attack when he's enraged. Now is it recommended? Yes, but you 100% can survive without a single stack. (with a CD to clarify)

to clarify Hpals can ignore an ENTIRE set of stacks with bubble. Our Hpals stand on the side in melee and never stack, never have to move, and can melee for mana.
Also, couldn't you just block the source of damage from the Pungent Blight and ignore all 3 stacks?
Edit; Nvm that's what you said.
@@lockekappa500you could block it. But I think most would want it as a failsafe abillity. Like getting hit by malleable goo.
You want the reduced damage from inoculation for the rest of the fight though don’t you?
