A lovely home. I wish the son could have stayed in his home with a carer. When his parents were alive all the furnishings and yard were taken care of with love. A very sad story about a loving family and their abandoned home.
That kid who own's that house is probably better off living in a group home because not all mental asylum's are safe. I lived in two group home's in my life, is now living on my own since I was taught how to live by myself. The two group home's helped me, kept me safe. The staff was amazing I was happy there at the time.
Agree with you! 🙌 Maybe he is not that bad as for mentalilness & nowadys, there are alternative ways to help persons with mental disabilities live their lives on their own with help of some personal carers...👍
@@helengren9349 Thank you because not alot of people care, understand thing's I go through. I had been bullied by my adoptive father, adoptive brother but the two group homes saved me from harm from them. You are right about what you said. I gave you're comment a like.😊
@@cateeadens5545 youtube is global and not everyone speaks English, and less speak English as a primary language. If it isn't ESL, perhaps someone who lived in group homes had bigger worries than remembering correct punctuation. It seems like people who are usually better at English, read more than those who aren't as good. Again, that could be the result of not having the time to read as much, for people who had to start working at a young age or had more important stuff going on.
The items in the box at 19:10 are knife rests. They were used to rest cutlery on, in between courses (when the same set of cutlery was used for various courses), to save the table cloth from being soiled. 💙
That home is beautiful with the furniture and drapes and beautifully decorated. It’s a shame someone couldn’t care for their son and keep him in his home. 😢
Hello from the Great State of Ohio - USA! I can’t even imagine what their son must have gone through to lose his parents. Any individual who has developmental disabilities may find it difficult to adjust from moving out of his house - let alone losing his loving parents. My heart hurts for him. You are truly a compassionate and caring person Lesley. Thank you for being respectful to this family.
I was born with a learning disability. I've lost both of my parents. My mom 7 years ago and my dad 5 years ago. When my mom was on hospice, and she was worried about me. I'm doing great. I do work, I drive, I bought a house last year. I do get help from my caseworker. So sad to watch this. What a beautiful home.
It's same situation for autistic who have at the worst end. My. Friend son is autistic he would have to go into state care when she is gone if no one in the family want to care for him as he can't live alone. It's sad but it happens
My wife and son work at a peer modeling autistic school in central Ohio. There are many stories like this that no one knows about so it is great that people like Leslie can shed at least a little light on one story.
Couples used to have a life time marriage ,back in the day and do anything for their families; the story of this beautiful family is really admirable and touching;how lovely the furniture, the tapistry and the wallpapers are! Thank you for this special exploration!

Your total respect for someone else's property shines out, Lesley, as always. Thank you for that. Your respectful pause in the bedroom was quite special. The little glass blocks in a box on the dresser in the Dining Room are cutlery rests - the French used to use just one set of cutlery throughout a meal, and these were used to kep the tablecloth clean ('gardez vos couverts!' the waitress may still tell you in small rural restaurants).
So heartbreaking to hear about these types of tragedies 💔 😔 I just wish that there was some type of estate sale and the house would be sold and the money would be donated to the mental institution where the son is currently living. 🙏

Wauw! The house is beautifully decorated . The rooster crowing at the beginning of the video was funny. Our neighbors have a rooster 🐓. Great respect for the family and sad story. Their son played accordion 🪗
You have great respect for people's homes and you're careful with everything it was a beautiful house and as you said there's a lot of love in the home with their special son , may his parents rest in peace.❤🙏🙏🙏🌹

Poor guy - it seems a shame that nobody is looking out for him, and that the house isn't being sold so that he can have the assets for his care and needs. Thank you for your respect and care.
I feel sorry for Joule, how is he now? I sympathized with him that he did not live in the house his parents had built for him so sad The house is very beautiful ... he should be able to live and have someone take care of him.;(
So beautiful. What an amazing home. So sad. The boy is alive presume. So nothing can be done to sell the house or anything like that. Tragic that it must just be left rather than being used to home a new family. Much impressed by the property. Struck by the lack of vandalism too. Wonderful. Wouldn’t it be great if you could find out what will happen to the property. I absolutely love it!! 🤗💜😁
the box with the little shiny rectangular flower thing is a tool for putting to rest cutlery when you set a table for guests and you dress the table for an elegant meal. you put that and the guest can put their forks etc to rest there while they are chatting or whatever and is more elegant than if you put them on the dish, also resting there is not mistaken that you did finish the meal as if they were left on the dish. that is an old way, in some European countries
Such a sad story. Appears to have been a beautiful and warm welcoming home. What you call an accountancy desk we (U.S.A.) call a secretary. Also, the feather broom, lol, it was a feather duster. Love the delicacy with which you handle these abandon places. Looking forward to next week's video!!!!
I love the respect he shows for the homes he tours and the people who lived in them. And it’s wonderful to listen to him weave the story of their lives as he guides us through the home. Also, his accent is adorable.❤
I mostly enjoy these type of vids for the decoration and architecture, but I honestly have a hard time watching any other channel after finding this one. They just never have such amazing respect and obvious passion for the places and there always seems to be a gimic of sorts. I will keep eagerly waiting for more of these beautiful vids.

This one isn't "really" abandoned. It's just not occupied by the currently mentally incapacitated person. I don't know... glad he risks it for us... to watch.. but... this one is breaking and entering... and that's a felony in the US. I wouldn't do it LOL!
Unless France used them as brooms, the stick with the feathers is called a feather duster and used as such. Such a very sad story of the people who lived there, it’s a shame it appears they had no other family. Depending on the year Juul was born he could be 57 to 60 years old now. Stories like this just break my heart, having to leave the only home he’s ever known to live in an asylum of some sort is so sad. The video was amazing though, with great respect and feeling to their legacy.
The house was lovely. However, I can not comprehend in any way why people would go through stuff and leave the incredible piles on the floor or furniture being flipped.. .maybe they have to look for money and jewelry but in my mind..they need to be drop kicked where they stand for all the destruction they cause. I'm looking forward to your next video and the feather broom was for dusting..probably for Walls, the top of door ways and ceilings. Shorter handled feather dusters were for table and bureau tops..things that could be easily reached.

What a shame , the wood furniture through out the house is Absolutely gorgeous. RIP Mr.&Mrs. What a beautiful life they lived in this home. It's sad it's just slowly rotting away.
Wow... Leslie I just love you ~ You have such compassion for not only the home but the people who lived there ~ This home could indeed be rescued and renovated ~ It's SO Beautiful!! ~ Having worked with mentally challenged people I feel to put out there that parents create in their will - That if anything happens to them - that their home be used as a group home for their own child but also other children until their child passes ~ That way the home can be maintained and their child doesn't have to experience the trauma of being taken away from the only home they know ~ This place is so special and inviting ~ Bless your 💜 for all the sharing you do for others Leslie ~ Much Love To You 💌

Hi Lesley. What a sad story. Beautiful house and the inside and the furniture too great video great job. Stay safe.😍👍🏻❤️👏🏻🔥
Hi Cynthia how are you doing with your family i do hope you’re safe from the Covid?
Very touching story of this family. Such beautiful furniture too. What you are calling tapestries one the wall is called needlepoint. I do this craft and have done it for 50+ years although I’ve never seen it that large. As usual you have done an excellent job taking me through another unique home. See you in your next video 🏡
You said what I was going to say. And I think the wife or grandmother made those beautiful oval ones.
You always pour your heart out to us when you tell the story of the family that lived in these places. You definitely have a beautiful soul.Thank you for taking us on another as you say, epic adventure.Have fun here in America and as always, we love you too.
Me encanto, gracias, aunque no tiene subtitulos-

IT IS SO SAD THAT NO ONE IS GOING IN THERE TO CARE FOR THE PLACE
What a sad story. The home is beautiful and I hope the Son is able to sell it soon. Fantastic video again, Lesley! Stay safe out there!
The picture on the lamp shade is of the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.
Those little items with the flowers, in the box in the dining area, were knife rests used on the table.
Me he suscrito,me gusta tu trabajo y yo creo que esa casa ya estaba vandalizada.

Hello Mary how are you doing with your family i do hope you’re safe from the Covid?
sou do brasil adorei viajei junto com voce nessa historia magnifica
And in Spain too....they fly over the houses, specially countryside houses..called " Masías "..

Very sad there was no other family to take care of the son its heartbreaking 💔 that he had to be put into a home God bless 🙏 all the family. 🙏
the back part of the house is collapsing. The place must have been gorgeous gardens. Love the wall paper. They do that now, flying over and taking pictures and then try to sell the photos to you. Great video and thank you for showing us this place. lean on God
Your minute of silence to them was amazing, thank you.
Those blackberries outside of the garage look delicious, I'd be picking a basket full for jam and a pie 😋
Aquata DeVore.....
I didn't see blackberries, I need to watch again.
@@lindatimmons3675 They're literally right when Leslie walks out of the garage into the driveway and I could just barely see a few clusters of them in the bushes, but they weren't all ripe though, about half of them are ripe but the other ones are red
~ Having worked with mentally challenged people I feel to put out there that parents create in their will - That if anything happens to them - that their home be used as a group home for their own child but also other children until their child passes ~ That way the home can be maintained and their child doesn't have to experience the trauma of being taken away from the only home they know ~ This place is so special and inviting ~ Bless your 💜 for all the sharing you do for others Leslie ~ Much Love To You 💌
I am new to your channel. I love it. Your a very good tour guide of castles. I admire how you respect and take care of the items of the people who lost their homes. I will be following you, here from California. I once visited France and Europe. Where my ancestors came from many years ago. I love old buildings and homes. Exciting how people lived back in the day. Thank you for sharing. Sure beats the news channels. 🥰😇
I can’t stop watching your ytube channel. Leslie, you are an exceptional young man. If I had a son I would want to have one just like you. I’m sure your parents are very proud of you. I will follow you as long as you do this. Yes, I’m hooked. A loving follower
Thanks!
Very sad story... I hope the son have found a very pleasant refuge, with plenty of very nice people to take care of him...
