Exploring abandoned places is my hobby and finance it all out of my own pocket and the donations I get from the people who love watching the documentaries we make... A small donation would be greatly appreciated! ► www.patreon.com/brosofdecay

      Lovely video Leslie and hello!
I always wondered if you had ever tried to find the family members of these beautiful home's?
I hope they're not also deceased and the home's are maybe left to the surrounding area government.

It is so sad when no one cares anymore about the past. We learn from the past. The workmanship and skill used to make the old homes is amazing.

Now the conservatory, front doors and windows would be made from pre-formed UPVC. Absolute hideous junk but cheap to make because there are no craftsmen involved; only fitters and a factory. Crafts are lost because of a love of economy over form and
      beauty.

@@emmabenedek646 We were talking about the loss of crafts and skills from the past that created beautiful buildings, though I'm not sure that the Bros of Decay quite got that. World War 2 was a disaster which destroyed millions of innocent lives and tens of thousands of beautiful buildings. Admiring fine buildings and craftsmanship from the past doesn't mean that you want to go back to the past. The only important thing about the past in that sense is to learn from its mistakes and thereby build a better future. We need to take the good things from the past like quality craftsmanship and concern for beauty and ditch the bad things like nationalism, cruelty, racism and wars.

    Such a beautiful home.
    They had very nice things.
My feeling is that the kids emptied out their bedrooms and left the fathers things due to overwhelming grief, or perhaps he wanted it that way.
Such a shame to see these beautiful items go to waste.
    Some are very valuable.
Too bad they couldn't auction these items off and give the money to his church.
    Thanks again guys.

Hello, what a wonderful video. I love all the antiques there! Here are a few time stamps and some of what I know: 05:02 The wallpaper is called Victorian Era "Flocked Velvet". 07:35 The Brown marble fireplace with white veins is most likely from France. Brown Marble from Belgium is really a granite and doesn't have the large streaks of white veins. 10:40 An English Regency Bullseye Mirror sometimes called a "Sorcerer's Mirror" 1815-1820. Another note... During 1776-1806 after the formation of the USA. The mirrors that were made in the USA, sometimes featured an Eagle at the top and were referred to Federal Period Bullseye Mirrors. 13:01 Most likely an Italian Marble Fireplace. Marble from Italy is usually a very light white color like this. 13:59 Brown Marble and Wood Bar possibly from France. 17:35 The violin. Inside the sound hole there is usually a paper that will tell of the maker, location, and possibly the year in which it was made. You may need to shine a flashlight in the sound hole to see it. 31:49 French Louis XIII "Fauteuil" or armchair. Possibly made in the 17th century. They usually come in pairs.. and yes.. you have found the second one! 32:49. Thank you for another wonderful video!!

I personally would notify the nearest Catholic Church and let them know of all the beautiful religious items in the home so it can be saved. Someone in the area has to know this Priest.

That kind of wallpaper is called “flocked”, and the raised part is meant to look like velvet. My Husband and I just sold a specialty shop we created in 1979. Some of our special pieces came home with us. Seeing this home and it’s many old pieces reminds me of what we are currently working over…integrating antique pieces into an already full home. After 45 years of Marriage you accumulate many memories. Thank you for sharing this home and it’s special pieces.🖤🇨🇦

I happened on this channel by chance. This just breaks my heart to see these wonderful homes left to deteriorate. I don’t know what happens in Europe, but here in the US we pay yearly property taxes. Eventually when the government realizes that nobody has paid them, they open a case and try to locate tre owner or next of kin for the sale of the estate. Usually the property within the home would go up for auction and then finally the home will be sold at auction.

Heyy Lesley, what an exceptional explore in that huge abandoned house somewhere in Belgium! There are so many highly fascinating
details visible in that house. I especially loved the antique items, as you can imagine. - It was once more also so nice to see your
friend William exploring together with you. I like him very much, and it was also a pleasure having him together with you as
a dear guest in my home. I remember some good talks, I had only with him.- Say heyy to him too from me, please!
"Life is a strange correlation of events." ..."and before you know it, you grow old...and has all passed right before your eyes. ...most
of these memories are made in a place, called h o m e." - Oh my God, dear Lesley, my friend, that's so poetical, and I got tears,
when listening to this wonderfully formulated introduction, because I could rather directly relate these words to my current situation.
Of course I have reached a certain age, but I always try to look forward as well, although I also love old and antique items,
as you know, my bro. - Working for church communities and teaching young teenagers the basics of religious knowledge about
the protestant church and faith in common has also been my profession for many years.
It was very interesting, to "walk" in mind at your side through the rooms of that mansion. - When you saw two records about
famous singers, I can give you following information:
Peter Alexander was for decades one of the most popular and famous singers/ actors in Germany, known beyond the German
bounderies in other countries as well. - And - no, I don't think your father would be mad at you, when you say, Elvis Presley was
an actor, - because he really had leading roles in some movies from the 1950-ies to the 1960-ies, where he was acting but also singing.
The two Volkswagen beetles in the shed were also such a surprise find. One of them is actually so nice, that it could be a collectors item!

Leslie, that is an incredible place! Its a shame its abandoned . But hopefully it could be fully restored before it is lost forever. I live in New England and do not come from "money". I had a chance to buy a huge abandoned 4 story mansion, formally owned by a wealthy mill owner, in a nearby city for just 26 thousand dollars. It was incredible. No furniture at all, but Marble fire places in every room, beveled glass in all the windows and doors. Solid walnut interior. And sadly a huge 3 story stained glass window that was behind the grand staircase, that some idiots had shattered and pushed it out of its frame. It landed in the back yard. It was there in the high grass for many years. About half of it was still in place on the ground in the early 90's when the home was for sale. I didn't buy it. The neighborhood had become a welfare city. Crime was too high and I decided to let it go. Someone did by it cheap and started to restore it. They still live there today. So these beautiful homes are savable ! Lets hope. peace

The people killed were tortured burnt alive beaten to death shot. That was not the only country doing that. Ask us about simnilar signs in present UK. Utube destroys texts in order to protect UK Govt. Ask about 1000 pp evid. We are still alive despite violence.

Leslie I love the architecture. Very interesting different kind of architecture. However it breaks my heart that the beautiful Stainglass doors and the antiques that are in there will just be demolished when the house eventually caves in on itself. And the little Volksees The white one was a lot older than the orange one. Both in great condition would just start right up. They’re super easy to work on I used to have a 68. It was funny the memories that I have of that car. My dad used to pack it to the hilt when we would go on vacation. My mom was very proud that she was able to fit a head of lettuce an onion and tomato in the glove box. LOL I learned from dad my spatial acuity with packing that little car. Not one square inch went to waste. And the basset hound went back behind the seat he had his own spot. So funny. Thank you for this interesting really interesting house. The violin was pretty much toast but the bow was in perfect condition well it just needed rehairing but it was perfectly straight. Probably more money worth in the bow than the violin. The bows can go up into the high thousands i’ll buy themselves! Can you imagine? I just got a carbon fiber one for mine. Well a while back. Take care of yourself. Loved William! Love from me and Northern California💜🍀🤟🏻😎🇺🇸

Very nice to see this place again. I admire where all the material has gone. In 2020 there was a lot more antiques present. The cupboards in the first room were filled with antiques and now contain only plates. In the other room it was full of boxes of antiques and you could barely walk. The Belgian flag was not there and the old TV was in this place which is now on the other side. In the kitchen there were 2 chainsaws on the floor. It's nice to look back, but a lot has disappeared and I think the children will come back every now and then.
