I think you're spot on, especially with these small inland lakes. I think we're in that transition now. So many big deep water summer fish have been caught shallow recently for myself.
It might be just me but the fall is when the bite turns on. As soon as we got these cooler nights, they were chewing. But I’m fishing shallower faster moving water. Thanks Mr Nowak for the smallie content.
Thanks for the info on the baits!!!👊🏻 Question: As a co-angler would you use the dropshot rig if you were at the back of the boat and your partner in front is on the trolling motor? Stay Safe & God Bless!!!
I was just up in the BWCA…couldn’t find the smallies. Was windy enough it was tough keeping the canoe over deeper water. Visibility stunk (for the Boundary Waters). Blah blah blah. Love the videos!
Great information, thank you! I think a great point is just getting as many bites as you can. Instead of just hunting for big fish, try to get a lot of bites then weed through the smaller fish
Ben I’m lost. I had 8 bites today. Lost 2. One was a 6 for sure but I firmly believe they were all flukes bcuz there were all spaced apart across my lake. I’m struggling find those fall trans spots on my lake. Lake Champlain. I use all the baits you listed. Actually the 6 I lost came on a ned and another 4ish came on a small tube. But I just can’t find a decent school or a couple grouped together
This time of year they will all be spread out. To get 6 bites is a solid day. My recommendation is now to try and identify what commonality or pattern there is in the locations you got bites. This can help clue you into the key to getting more bites. Finding pods this time of year is possible but they’re normally sure and far between
@@brnowak_fishing commonality is sand grass, current and 14-17 feet of water. It’s just to slow of a bite for me and I know that sounds like my head is swollen but it’s not. It’s an area that I struggle and I really wanna get better at that fall bite. I have one more club tourney left and it’s the championship. I’d like to place top 4, that’d be cool. Thanks for the intel. If I have to on championship day, I’ll run all 60 gallons of gas bro looking for 5 key bits 😂 idc. When you gonna get up here man? I’ll gladly show ya around. You’d love lake Champlain. Smally heaven
what brand of fluorocarbon do you use? I've broke off on at least a dozen big smallmouth this season using 8 lb seagur compared to the 10 lb p line I used last season
You’d think after two or three breaks you’d have changed the line..? You’re leaving these fish with hooks and lures in their mouths, try to clue in a bit sooner plz. Otherwise you’re just intentionally messing up the fish.

The fall fishing it’s the most fun for me and I’m definitely going to use some of the bait that you mention on your video Fish no Brother

Ben! Thank your for all your great content! A Great Lakes smallmouth fall/ winter location video would be 😎
Another great video!! Nice baits to consider the next time on the water of Lake Erie! Thanks for the information.

Well done, Ben!
Great baits good tips love the channel
What type of jig head do you use for the finesse swimbait?
I pour my own from a DoIt Molds Shake-It Head. Basically a round ball head typically 1/4 or 3/8oz

Crazy to think we're heading into fall already 😕 anyway thanks for the video Ben!
A seminar on fall smallmouth would be greatly appreciated. Also what areas are you looking for when fishing the fall transition?

Why is the water so low I went to the Saginaw bay yesterday and it was rough but the waters 21/2 ft low do you happen to no
Seems like there isnt much said about NPS out there? Nobody really talks about them
Already tried and code they gave me for Rapala didn’t work at TW or Midway
You have to use it on the manufacturer’s websites
Ahh. I see said the blind man 👨🦯
Yessir :-) but then it’ll work for you
Dude, slow down. So much information but you talk too darn fast for us old timers.
