Great topic Chris! My backrest is also a must have. However, there is also another “can’t do without “ that would surprise everyone. It’s “outdated” technology, but I just can’t do without my CB radio. On long rides across State lines, it’s very good to know I have instant contact without having to worry about recharging, or tower interruption because of loss of electricity. Every vehicle I drive has one in it. Thanks for sharing. Ride Safely!
Yeah the CB is old tech, but very reliable. On our long trips I always have mine on. I get info from the truckers about road and traffic jams, police speed traps etc.
Good video, good topic. I had to think on this one. I agree with everything you listed except the floorboars because I've never tried them. The thing I'd add is Bluetooth communication. Being able to talk to your companions while riding changes the whole experience. And when you're not riding with anyone, you are never bored. When I had to quit riding there was no such thing. I'm happy with and couldn't do without it.
Upgraded seat, backrest, highway pegs, heated gear and windshield are the ones that I count not do without. The additional lighting is a luxury but I could do without it. Great video Chris!!!
Hello Chris. Hope all is well with you and wishing mama a speedy recovery. Now for me I need my back rest, my highway pegs and just safety riding gear ( jacket, helmets, gloves etc).
OOOhhh, Lets see. Backrest is my number 1.We love riding on loooong road trips and backrest just adds to our comfort. Highway pegs is a must, Yes Cruise control. Yup heater gear...I (Rich) have all First gear, Kake has Hot wire. Good topic. Also wishing the wife a speedy recovery. Roll safe.
Yup, love my backrest & floorboards on the Royal Star Midnight venture! I bet I have spent AT LEAST $4000 in the past 5 years just on bike & protective gear! Not near what you have spent, but I don't make all that much money either! hahahah! Good vid topic dude!
I knew I was in trouble when you started listing items. lol Now my must haves are GPS(easy now with cellphone), heated jacket, and heated gloves. As far as cruise control I don’t have issues as I’ve done iron butt rides without them.
Kury mini boards!, Ergo lll highway pegs, RDL w/backrest. SoCal LED lights, Wig Wag. Heated Jacket liner, pant liner, gloves, boot insoles. Perfect Ride hand guards. There are more but those make the difference between a nice ride and a great ride.
Interesting topics and I ride a couple of standard/naked bikes so just a few standard upgrades such as Bluetooth and full size windshield for the Wing. Hope your wife has a speedy recovery.
I have a few "can't live without accessories" for the Vic, my Klock Werks Klip Hanger adjustable mini-apes and the Corbin Dual-Tour seat. Engine Stage-2 upgrade with Lloydz cams and a dyno tune. We don't talk about how much money I've spent on bike accessories over the years :-|
Ok so, how is your wife now? I hope she made a full recovery. Knee replacement is no joke, and both of them? One thing I can't do without now are heated grips, I've been riding year round for quite a number of years and the bike I ride now is the second one with heated grips. I have never needed heated gear but the grips are very worth checking out. I layer up for the temp I'm riding in all the way down into the teens but my hands were always a problem.

Wife is still recovering but doing so really well. The heated gear has spoiled me. It just makes the ride so much comfortable and extends your ride.
@@christophersmith5116 Glad to hear your wife is recovering well. Heated gear would be nice.
