    Thanks a lot..this is great information. I have one question which bothers me though. How come top management/leaders are not in sync with the worker/team leads/managers etc? They have also gone through all those positions to reach the top, but end up forgetting how it was for them when they were in those positions!!!

      Hi! just ran into this this video. Hope you don't mind me attempting to answer your question. I've been in middle management for 10 years working alongside business owners, CEOs and COO's. There are many reasons why top management / leadership are not in sync with the rest of the organization from down below. In my opinion from years of experience, I have found that senior leadership relies on managers to learn about what's going on in the organization, but unfortunately and sadly I can't tell you how many managers are more concerned with being liked by top management than letting them know the truth of what's going on. Also, not an execute for senior leadership, but when their schedules are already hectic with running the business and the few opportunities they have to learn about the organization from down below is met with superficial information, no wonder why they make decisions that makes them NOT be in sync. Now this is just 1 of many many reasons of what could be going on.
      Now, to tell you the truth regardless of any reason, LEADERS are responsible, at the end of the day, for doing whatever it takes to figure out what's going on and make decisions that makes top to bottom be in sync. Hope this helps.

    Probably it all depends if you can really identify with the goals of your organisation. Only then you see any purpose in pressuring the one's below you to 'meet the goals'. But I would guess a lot of people land in situations where this is not the case. Then "You are constantly measuring effective execution against the defined objectives" seems like an absolutely dreadful task.
    It also would be necessary that the people below you really identify with the goals. I would assume that also this often is not the case.
    Since one has to pay the rent many people do not have the luxury to search and find the organisation with whose goals they really align, I would assume. And then I would assume that all these pressures, structures and hierarchy systems just became a huge abomination
