Hi madam, I am a huge fan of your UA-cam and Instagram videos. You always share such useful and informative content that teaches me new things and keeps me interested. I admire your work and your personality. I love you madam!
We all can and do make mistakes, and it’s easy to criticise. I will say my thoughts (of course lol), I feel the front wheel problem was mentioned in the last two videos as well. Obviously I’m not sure of actual time lines, or amounts driven, but felt that should have been acted upon earlier. Regardless, looks like a nice spot you visited and some of the flora reminds me of SEQ. Looks like some relations to lomandras in the creeks etc. Hopefully you can have some LR trouble free travels moving forward. Keep up the good work. 👍
The poor old Landy. If it's not one thing, it's another. Keep on keeping on guys. Just remember. It's always cheaper to repair than replace ( new car ). Regardless whether it be human error or straight out mechanical failure.
So, the guys in Cape Town incorrectly shimmed the swivel ball hub bearings which cause the new bearings to fail. You only needed new top and bottom swivel ball bearings as the ball would be ok. The guys in Cape Town should cover the repair costs as it was their error. Then the guys in George did not tighten your drive member nut properly. Shame, the poor Landy's get the blame where it actually is human error.
Russell, you have hit it on the spot...not sure if the "Capetown guys" did work on the swivel balls, but...... Land Rover got it's bad reputation mainly due to bad after sales service.. It's sadly an old old story in RSA after BMW, later Ford, and now Tata bought the brand...they don't even use the Green Oval when marketing the new Pretender.. The old school LR mechanics are too old now, and the young ones only know electronics and how to remove and fit new parts, repairs don't exist. The saying was : "Give me a piece of wire and a pair of pliers, and I'll fix your Landy".... Later it became a zip tie/cable tie and side cutter. Today it's just luck and money that keeps your Landy going....
Yes we did only need new top and bottom bearings but didn't know that until it was pulled apart and couldn't take the risk to be stuck for longer. We wanted to be on the road and exploring, we've spent enough time in workshops haha
My mate also had Land Rover issues. He had 3. His wife told him she'd divorce him if he bought another one. So he bought her a Hilux, and they lived happily ever after. The end. 😉

So what caused the waterleak and is it solved ?
No sure. Not solved yet. Happens when the roof is down.
@@GrizzlyNbearOverland hopefully you find it soon and be able to fix it !
Seems to be human errors causing the problems with the Defender.

On ne sait pas . Elle a 10 ans. Quand c fermé uniquement. Après on l a désossée … les Velcro des fenêtres n accrochent plus du tout. Il y a aussi un petit trou dans la toile plastique dans un coin…

So this is all a show of how Kak Land Rovers are.
Pity the amazing countryside takes second stage of how Kak Land Rovers are.
😂😂😂
great combination Africa falling apart and a Land Rover constantly needing repairs.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's a Landy thing, you would not understand, DavidThomas...
Oh, I understand. That's why I didn't buy a new 90 after they came out!!@@alwynvanwyk1851
Unfortunately it seems that you guys have also experienced a South African phenomenon called "kak diens". No pride in workmanship or the company that employs you. It pisses me off no end when people do half assed work. As a local in the Garden Route I can't say I'm totally surprised though.
Better get the issues sorted here in RSA before you head up north. Botswana there are a few places that does work on Landies, however they're few and far between. Maun has a specialist that I know of.
It's a Land Rover. You get what you paid for. You are welcome to chill out on my farm near Knysna.
Stuur adres asb, ek's gatvol vir my Landy ook 😂😂
Toyota owners would have gone round the world 4x before a landy could do one round due to down time.
But our trip is so much more exciting. We take our time and we meet NICE people from the LR community. 😊
