    If only college professors would teach this way and throw out their powerpoints! Most students just end up teaching themselves since those types of lectures are generally useless. As I attempt to teach myself, I feel so lucky to have come across your video! You are a great teacher.

    I just love how tidy the whole process of your explanations is; crystal clear speaking, straight to the point and everything written down on the whiteboard. It couldn't be better. Nice job, dr AK. You really make life easier for medical students with these biochemistry videos.

    You seriously make the invisible come alive and explain in 15 minutes what it takes an hour of lecture and 4 hours of trudging through the textbook to put together. I’ve felt so led astray by my professor, giving us scattered puzzle pieces expecting us to use “critical thinking” to put it together ourselves. I am so thankful for you’re videos and approach to explaining the material in a direct manner that puts those puzzle pieces together. Now I watch your videos before even looking at the provided materials from my university/professor because this makes complete sense while those only exasperate the confusion.

    Just one correction in case #4 u said "ribose -6-phosphate", it should be ribose-5-phosphate, but on the flip side, thanks for guiding me to an A in biochemistry :)

    I really can't find a way to thank you for these videos that you've prepared. I am a first grade med student and our professors just read powerpoint slides and leave, not feeling any of the need to explain what's actually going on. I can easily say that I would have failed biochemistry without your videos. Thank you very much!

    Question regarding Case 2. How come you have ATP? I thought that Pentose Phosphate Pathway does not use nor generate ATP???

    • @AlviAle
      @AlviAle 6 років тому

      Phosphofructokinase 1 is the enzyme being used, & that enzyme must require the use of ATP. (that enyme is found in glycolysis. NOT pentose phosphate pathway)

    What is the "glycolytic" component of case 3 (need for more NADPH)?

    • @serious_g
      @serious_g 8 років тому

      +Nicole Harless gluconeogenesis, which is for the most part reverse glycolysis, it also uses G6P, the starting product of glycolysis. It's kind of a late response though

    Quick question, is the arrow from GAP to DHAP backwards?

    • @YasOOsha
      @YasOOsha 7 років тому

      Hena Ahmadzai well DHAP converts first to GAP to actually be able to continue in glycolysis so yes it is going backwards but then moves forwards as GAP
