Those machines brought back the pride to a whole country in 1969, and fought their last dogfights of the century. Our highest respects to heaven ,to the pilots who fought with the rudder in the hands ,their last dogfight against the enemy in 1969. 🇭🇳🇭🇳
I think the most amazing thing on take off with these engines is torque. In England I saw it with a pair of P51’s standing on edge of grass runway. For an engineer it was a classic conversion of statement to reality.
Oh wow thank you so much for posting this. The "Dash 5" version of the Corsair is one of my all time favorite aircraft. There is something about it having four 20 millimeter and those two intake scoops in the nose cowling that makes this Corsair so bad a$$. Of course all of the versions were bad a$$. Something is telling me this model is the one that had a lot of use in the Korean war. Also, I think the same model of 20mm cannons in the -5 Corsairs were the same ones eventually put in the F-100 Super Saber, early A-7 Corsair II, A-4 Skyhawks and of course the Northrop F-5's.

The British received Corsairs thru lend-lease and if they had re-engined the airframes with their Centaurus or Hercules engines they may have utilize the planes longer.
Yes you are correct from the research I’ve done. Thanks for pointing that out. I won’t change the title as this is how it is registered on the CASA website (the Australian FAA equivalent). Did you fly or work on the Corsair?
Always loved the look of the Corsair. One of my favorite model kits as a kid.
Pratt & Whitney R2800 music!!!
Oh yeah!
Tout ces avions, ces chefs d'oeuvres aux bruits de leurs moteurs qui nous font frissonner d'émotion, de joie et d'admiration !!💜💜💜🙏🛩️🛩️🛩️
Thank you! The Corsair is a fantastic plane with such a BEAUTIFUL shape (and engine sound!)

Corsair ❤ Kraft und Schönheit, tolles Flugzeug .
Everyone else loves the P-51 Mustang, but I grew up loving the Corsair 😁
Great work on the video. Thank you for not playing any annoying music.
Don't need music with that engine. Thanks for watching!
@@rowzero EXACTLY ...as the lyrics from a RUSH song, ...mechanical music,...adrenaline surge!
that big ol' P&W sounds perfectly in tune to me, no need for backup.

What a privilege to fly this aircraft.
P&W R-2800, best radial engine ever.
The Corsair is among the most badass fighters of all time.
Not hard to see why my dad loved flying those birds. He was a Marine Aviator in WWII. Flew with the Ace of Spades, VMSB 231.
I bet he had some stories to tell.

HOT DAMN . . . listen to the chig n rug of that magnificent engine!
Gorgeous! Lovely tribute airplane in Honduran Air Force colors. 👍👍👏👏
Let's get someone to put an El Salvador livery on a P-51 and we can reenact the Soccer War.

Beautiful, Thank You..
There we go....thank you so much for radial fix.
Beautiful plane...
le Corsaire
trés manable rapide et un moteur exceptionnel
Watching the black sheep right now....on metv.......love that plane
Thanks for sharing ,
Fantastic video. Thanks 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Great video!
Sweet, a clean -5N, not schlepping around a dummy radome, or a big drop tank!
Where was the radar on these planes?
The radome was on the outer right hand wing. A big pod on the leading edge.
40 year sign painter here. Be glad to come letter that warbird for you
It is up for sale if you have a spare $3.5M USD
Gorgeous!
Nice clip.
Awesome shape!! Thanks for sharing!!

Beautifull!!!!! ❤❤❤
The Japanese soldiers named the Corsair "Whispering Death."
Makes car engines look like toys.
WOW! That old gal really songs pretty!
Beautiful 🙂
The Corsair is cool alright but the really cool one is the Bristol Freighter in the background. Never see those anymore.
Nice machine
The hinge arrangement in the wing must be an engineering marvel to handle the aerodynamic stresses or am I overthinking it?
I agree. Engineers are amazing.
Does this night fighter not have a huge, wing-mounted pod for the radar like F6F-3N Hellcats?
Not this one
Fan fan fan 😍😍😍👏👏👏👏
Is this the restoration of the plane Fernando Soto flew?
Unsure. It’s registered as VH-III so you possibly could trace the history. Good luck!
Great! 📸⭐⭐⭐👍
Murica!

Gorgeous! Steve Hinton at the controls?
Not Steve but an Aussie guy
@@rowzero Ahh thank you. Sure looked like Hinton (at least with the helmet on).
@@rowzero Peter "BD" Clemence was the pilot.
Yes you are correct
This is not a -5N, it's a -5. No radar bulb on the starboard wing.

Did you fly or work on the Corsair?
These we're I think the best planes
But if they could mount more bombs they would have hit targets even better
Which is faster, the F4U Corsair or P 51 Mustang?
The P 51 Mustang was a faster at higher altitudes above 20,000 feet and the F4U was faster at altitudes below 20,000 feet.
@@drummer78 Thanks, clears up my confusion.
F4U-5 could run 408 knots TAS @ 27000ft, P-51H could run 410 knots TAS @ 22700ft...... speed was almost the same but at different altitudes.....
@@4strokenicolaus Thanks for the info!!!
