Where I grew up, I used to have a Spitfire fly over my golf course, flown by a Battle of Britain vet, then I played golf with him when I was 12 years old. Talk about hero.
You were so fortunate to have met him
No Rock Music!!! ......no over the top Commentary!!!!!.just the the beautiful sights and tones of the Daimler Benz, Griffon & Merlin Soundtracks. Brilliant footage 👏 👌
That was a Rock concert in itself,, just the way it's always suppossed to be !!!!!!
Same lame comment about no music, thanks bro.
@@I7435IC The planes themselves are louder than any rock concert that's for sure.
@@tomsoyer5639 I hate music too but I fucking hate these comments.
...talked to a very frail old german gentleman 30 years ago. He looked like he coldn't fight his way out of a paperbag anymore. Turns out he was a Me 109 fighter pilot for the Luftwaffe in WW2. "How did you do against the Spitfires?" I asked him. "When they seemed to get the upper hand we sometimes ducked & flew under bridges, local knowledge., you see. They couldn't follow..." - Heroes, now long gone...
The FW190 take off sequence still gives me goosebumps...
Sad only that it's not a real 100% Fw190
@@jordomayor5224 yeah, but the ones with the original BMW 801 D2 /Q/TU engine are so rare no one dare to fly sush rare bird, and sadly that FW 190 A8 is a reproduction with the Shvetsov ASh-82 engine
@@ricardobeltranmonribot3182 a museum in washington state has an a5 with an 801 it flys regularly. also has a d13 but they are missing some of the ignition electronics so it stays on the ground
@@zachogdahl210 Oh I know, also know that in the USA there is a Ta 152 H (don't remember if is a preprodution [0] or a production [1] model) in storage, also, the Doras are to rare to be fly, the same with that A-5, it's sad that aircraft is the only with a funtional BMW 801D-2 engine, the other 190 A's that are in museums, have their engines inoperable
@@ricardobeltranmonribot3182That's the extreme high altitude interceptor if I remember correctly?
The FW190: One of the most beautiful warbirds ever
That menacing supercharger howl as soon as the Me-109 starts up...what a (small) beast of a plane. It just oozes mechanical purpose and fighting deadliness. Thanks for this upload Paddy, you made my day.
Agreed. While I think that few people would disagree that the Spitfire was certainly the more elegant looking, even prettier, of the two aircraft, the 109 just somehow looked like it fucking MEANT to handle some business. And as much as I love those Merlin engines when they go past, I still think that the supercharged howl of the DB 605 sounds better.
Im pretty sure thats just the clutch engaging the starting flywheel. Dont think that super charger is making hardly any boost at that low of an rpm..
@@runninggames771 it is mechanically driven, fluid coupled super charger. It starts spinning almost immediately as engine is running. Can be heard clearly. But there is not much boost at low rpm..
lo
It never ceases to amaze me how tiny the 109 is particularly the cockpit. I can’t recall which museum it was, but they had a G-6 next to a Razorback P-47. It honestly looked as if you could fit the 109 inside the P-47 with room to spare. Such beautiful machines.
100% agree. I've had the chance to sit sit in an original BF-109G, and to say its snug is an understatement. Nonetheless it's a pretty cool cockpit. On the other hand, the Fw190 has a very spacious cockpit, also very cool to sit in
It's like comparing a Porsche to a Dodge Challenger hellcat. The Hellcat ( P47) had raw power.
I think the price for the worst Luftwaffe cockpit goes to the Henschel hs129.
I couldn't believe how huge the P-47 was the first time I saw it in person.
The 109 was designed to fit very tight, like a glove. The idea was to make the plane an extension of the pilot, to become one with the machine. Essentially, the pilot was wearing the plane. Given this plane was developed initially in secrecy and in opposition to the armament restriction treaty that Germany was under, if they were going to perfect one plane, they needed to get this right. Under the circumstances, they did an extraordinary job.
My grandfather was a FW 190 pilot and he loved that plane. Great to fly.
he probably killed my grandfather during ww2
The Fock Wulf 190 was a serious fighter that's why the allies nicknamed it the " Butcher Bird .
@@raspadraspberry1977 They did "what they had to do". But it always starts with insane politicians. Now again. Never again! We must learn from history!
Shortfall. my grandfather did not have time to shoot down
@@raspadraspberry1977 : My grandfather was responsible for downing 10 of these planes, he was the worst mechanic the Luftwafe ever had.
No Talk, no Music...just solid "👍👍👍👍👍Wonderfullness"!!! Great Job!!!!
A super Pilot ,he gives the German Warbirds a second life!
Thank you for making this magnificent documentary about these legendary aircraft , which were engaged in deadly combat seventy years ago , but now happily participating in peaceful air shows.

Absolutely beautiful. I don't know why but the sound of those beauties passing overhead brings tears to my eyes.
I think maybe it’s because you were THERE,
back Then,
in another lifetime…
I always thought that i am crazy, but this happens to me ,too...everytime.
I can relate mate
That 190 is an absolute beast.
Got to say that I really love the engine sounds from this old war birds. Specially the bf109's engine. An up-side-down mounted V12 engine, Daimler-Benz DB 605, with fuel injection. WOW.
It was the best engine of its time
The FW-190, with its radial engine, is just glorious; probably their best pure fighter. The Spitfire and FW-190 are my favorites here.
This is not an original Focke Wulf 190, it is a german build replica very close to the original fw 190 using original parts whenever available and otherwise selfmanufacturing parts by using the historic construction plan, a very extensive way of construction. Since there are no more original BMW 801 available or very rare the plane has a chinese licenced build russian 14 Cylinder two row radial engine shvetsov ASh-82
with a take off power output of about 1.900 hp. The engine is in weight, dimension and power output similiar to the original BMW 801, which was also a radial engine with 14 cylinders in 2 rows. There seems to be only one flyable fw 190 with a BMW 801 in the world, coming from USA.
I will NEVER tire of ALL of these airplanes...absolutely superb machines!
Outstanding to see this beautiful planes flying together and not against each other 🙏🏻 greetings from 🇩🇪
You could easily argue the P-38 or Corsair are the sexiest planes of the war. But the 190 has always been my favorite. I can’t explain it. The lines of the fuselage, canopy and tail. I don’t know but something about that design is just cool.
I simple case of "this is brilliant, but I like this". And nothing wrong with that
The sounds of those engines is tremendous and thrilling as they scream by, but hearing them hurtling down at you must of been terrifying with the guns chattering. I envy these pilots flying these beautiful machines and they must feel so sad when they turn the engines off. Thank you for this amazing display.
The sound of them engines in them old fighter planes is absolutely amazing
They're all fantastic, but that FW-190 is really something.
There is an inherent beauty in all of these planes... each defended the country that built them. I thank everyone involved in the preservation and making them available for us to admire today. This touches my heart in ways no one can ever imagine.
I love all those iconic WW2 birds....but the FW is a beast...the sound OMG!
The original BMW engines are super rare and parts for them are almost non-existant, The ASh-82T still sounds nice though
Last summer I was outside on the deck with some friends. We heard a low rumble of a plane that sounded much different than the typical props you hear flying over all day. I stood up excitedly and said "that's a P-51 or a Spitfire. This is Minnesota so I'll bet my house on P-51."
Unfortunately no one called my bet, or I'd have 2 houses. Those Merlin/Packard engines have such a glorious and distinct sound. Never gets old.
Thanks for the video, now I have to go play War Thunder
No matter for what these machines were built this is true art very beautiful
That Me-109 sounds so freaking sweet!
That remote controlled tow boat is actually pretty cool too.
Thanks to you and those that own/maintain these beautiful classics. Priceless.
Eargasm.
Thank you all for this memory i will never forget
The fw-190 takeoff was epic.
...but so dangerous for its crazy pilot...!
That low 190 take off....ausgezeichnet!
That 190...wow...literally have chills watching that thing in flight. The paint job is exceptional too.
The sound of those engines!
Magic !!! Love that Sound from the 109 DB Engine !! Heaven on Earth . :)
Gives some sort of pride, im neither german or american or even british for that matter but seeing these old warbirds just somehow fills me with that awe and pride they are all magnificent, I hope ill experience them at Hangar 10 some day :)
The sound of those engine's on a low pass.. If that sound isn't BEAUTIFUL, then I don't know what is!! Haha.. Keep up the GREAT work good sir!! Your footage is ALWAYS Top Notch!! 👍👍
Thanks!
Only thing that tops the engine noise is the silence when my wife shuts the hell up or leaves the house.
Sounds like a rock!)
Those World War II planes are beyond beautiful but the FW 190 just about wins the prize. And that radial engine! Actually, the one you happen to be watching at the moment wins the prize. They're all just spectacular.

How cool is this to see a P51 and FW190 flying together. The roar of the engines sounds incredible. 18:30
Good times and good friends are what this airshow is all about and they are flying in a peaceful manner, the ME109 is impressive with its Daimmler Benz engine as you are hearing it.
Its strange we all say how beauitful the engines sound as they fly past and come in on a low past, but 80 years ago we would all be in bunkers and missing it all, praying they would go home soon and no one got hurt etc, but i got to say the orignal pilots who flew these aircraft have my up most respect friend or foe!
That first Focke Wulf scramble was...Focke insane! Great shots.

The acoustics of the birds of war are impressive! Have unmistakable identities ... They are same fearsome and, at the same time, wonderful machines!😍😍😍

It’s so cool seeing those WW2 fighter planes take to the skies after nearly 75 years!
I do not have enough superlatives to describe this video. Thank you. 👏
Beautiful bird, it brought my father's friends down but you still can't deny its engineering.
Nothing like German toys and other things not so.
However you can't know life without a struggle here and there.
it amazing to see warbirds take to the sky's again I'm actually from Germany so it's pretty neat to see some bf 109 and other aircraft from World War 2
Really good footage!!
The spitfire and mustang seem so

however the FW 190...is bad ass!
That plane has grown on me over
last 10 years , its a real beast!
Totally agree!! The 190 dropping in at the 12:15 was awesome!! As was the take-off!!
Kurt Tanks 190 was a hell of a plane. I never warmed to the 109 much. But as a Brit living in Germany i have to say its nice seeing them all fly together and that as an Englishman the sound of a Merlin powered Spitifre is seared into my heart and veins (Yes i know this Spit was a Griffon powered one and not the same). Lovely warbirds and so nice to see them flying still.
Old Kurt Tank use to run out & jump in Foke Wulf 190 when Allies flee over factory. The Factory had it's own miniature air force of factory workers with heavily customized 190's.Kurt Tank had to be grounded by Adolf Hitler & Himmler cause HE was to valuable but HE still sneaked out on occasion.Legends those Luftwaffe pilots,Allies 5 planes shot down & a Ace hahaha😂👍🖕
Germans aces had hundreds of kills one had 365odd to allies best of 20odd.True warriors of the sky.
@@ruahinesrider Measuring effectiveness by kills (including claims) alone is quite immature.
Did these 100+ kills aces win the war or even hold aerial superiority?
No, even how many of them even made it to the end of the war?
The Luftwaffe was a meatgrinder in its ways of using skilled pilots, be it for short-term effectiveness or propaganda.
That little whine before the engines starts up on the German War machine sounds very futuristic! Lovely!
That inertial or flywheel starter is a 1920s invention, became popular in the 1940s and so on, but is used as a sound effect in Star Wars movies, for the Millenium Falcon.
