It's funny, cuz Athena is only pissed off that all the power is given to mortals, not because it is a strong weapon, but because it makes her into a point-less being, see, Hope is a strong weapon, and when you give one hope, it can break all others and can even make one immortal, as the logic of games work, if the entire world is given hope, then everyone will have great strength and power, and they will be able to win battles on their own, making up their own made strategies, now Athena, she is the Goddess of Strategy, she is the one that gives strategies to mortals when they need help in war. What happens when people are given the ability to make up their own brilliant with little to no outside help? No one needs Athena, thus the reason she wanted the power to be kept with her this whole time...was so she doesn't become pointless, but that's only a Theory.
To be honest Poseidon's entrance was quite epic,and intimidating.. It's just that, he's one the most powerful God, and he get's broken by a Spartan General.
The same Spartan general that killed the Furies, various godly creatures (including Medusa and the Hydra), Persephone, Ares, Thanatos and his daughter, Perseus, Theseus and the Sisters of Fate.
Kratos is a God, his father is Zeus and his mother is a Mortal so he is Half god, but not in Olympian, He is a Spartan,and then it went on until the story we know of

The souls escaped Hell and roamed the lands... So he is destroying the world in a certain way... And at the end of the game, the world seems fucking broken and hellish !
That's like saying Hetalia taught you more about world history than your classroom ever could. It's only a true statement if you don't broaden your own horizons. Aside from that though, yeah, GoW is an excellent series of games when it comes to increasing one's interest in the subject in Greek mythology. =]
