never tried a simulator, been playing since 2004, might try one now. the games changed so much, a massive all inclusive video going over which addons to use and how would be awesome
Thanks for the video , I was wondering if you can do another raid bots video on how to use drop optimizer , and specify how to see what pieces of gear are better . Use to be you could look at each item like a trinket you had and what was the next best all the way up to the BIS one . Just came back and trying to learn it all over again , thanks
I liked using the Mr. Robot add-on it was pretty simple. This just feels more complex and doesn't seem to tell you what's an upgrade or not as far as gear goes.
It’s very similar actually in process. You can compare gear upgrades using top gear or gear compare, that’s coming a later video :) The other elephant in the room is just the accuracy of AMR isn’t there. Every theorycrafter across every spec works on simulationcraft/raidbots, and it’s the community project. AMR is a private for-profit application that doesn’t have any support from the broader community and usually is inaccurate because of it Hope it helps ❤
It shows you what is an upgrade, but it’s not like “pawn”. The reason for that is that pawn sucks. Stat weights are dynamic. Using something that doesn’t change gives you bad information.
@@whispyr5793 Yes a video like that would be helpful. With Mr. Robot I was able to see what gear would be the best in bags already or a upgrade in a raid or would be mythic plus now. It was very simple to just look at your character and match up what to change or go for. This add-on includes a lot more so I guess why it can be different how to use this add-on when it's brand new to use. I mean hands down the gear, gems, and enchants is what's going to help out the most and the rest on this add-on is just whatever to me lol.
Hi Guys! I would like to ask that how can i setup my UI so i can see those importants spells coming on a horizontal line like in the video at 1:08-1:10. I saw it also on Naowh ui :(. Any help would be very much appreciated:)!
does topgear take into account if you gave a different piece of gear that can be enchanted and upgraded to your current one but is not yet enchanted and upgraded
even if i didnt learn a thing it was a fucking damn good video props ! to creator ! also no stupid outro which is 400% of the volume the video was before xD!
Thanks for the video! Thumbs up! This is off topic but I really lik le your UI do you have a guide or a way I can set mine up like that? What addon is for the middle of the screen with the cooldowns and stuf
I used hekili addon when understanding the class. Help out a ton, the hekili rotation from my testing/playing with it you'll usally be under 5% under your sim dmg.
@@veilystia4999 I have Hekili, but its kinda meh 🫤. A friend of mine told me a Very usefull burst cleaver for arcane and its took important or any relevancy by the addon itself. That's why i kinda discarted It.

My friend no offence, probably I did something wrong but actually did it as you say and it shows my DPS and my gear some alternatives and that's it . Everything I already know . I don't understand how this is helping me 😮
It's not always correct, and it can get you used to staring at it without actually learning the rotation by yourself. I (Sunshade) use it as a dot/ CD reminder, so you can find some other uses for it if not rotation. For learning a spec, however, I wouldn't recommend keeping it for too long (a week tops maybe). If you keep it on, you never learn. You just copy.
@@MarcelianOnline That's fair. I mainly use it on my Ret Paladin but I do find myself doing what you said and just copying it. I dont even know if what it tells me is right. But it feels right? I guess if I knew for certain it was guiding me the right way, I would feel more comfortable spending the time learning what it's teaching.
I know how to sim my toon. I need help with adjusting for ideal talent points, selecting ideal gear now that everything can be easily upgraded. Im also getting to the point where just sacking "ideal secondaries" has me waaay over 30% and I'm worried diminishing returns is negativity affecting my DPS and maybe the lesser stats are becoming better (like versatility)... for example on my arms warrior I have 37% crit. Maybe it's time to knock that down a little and start taking versatility? This is what I need help with? Is there a way to do this without running hundreds of sims testing each and every little change?
If you want your current statprio you just need to do the statweight sim.. you will see how much dps 1 point of a stats gives you.. but be careful with that, as they change with every new piece of armor essentially.. you can also compare builds with the "Top gear" tab.. just choose your different talentbuilds and see what does the best.
Diminishing returns should be factored into sims as well, so if it's still telling you to stack, you should stack. Other than this it falls down on the people managing the data for your spec telling the sim what's actually good
@@MarcelianOnline ok thank you. I'll have to take a look at it again. Admittedly, I haven't simd in awhile and definitely not familiar with all the options and types of sims they have now.
I have a question . Why when i SIM my character which Is sub Rogue . Its telling me that i need haste most right Now even tho i have 10% . But when i add more haste i dont DPS as much without IT And when i looked on some best sub Rogue they dont have more than 1-2% haste . So why would i listen quick sim
I can respond generally, is that all stats give you damage. The more you have of one, the more some specs will like the other. Sub specifically, it could be an interaction you might not be taking advantage of. Simming is a robot mechanic, you can follow the indications, but if your baseline rotation isn't the same or close to it, the changes to gear or stats might not mean much. I recommend checking Ravenholdt for exact Sub info tho
Hallo fellow rogue! Couple things to talk about here. While it’s true that sub rogue doesn’t like haste generally, it’s like with everything in life right? Too much of a good thing isn’t good anymore. With how diminishing returns work, having a some bad stats is actually fine. Things like trinket procs increase with haste, as well as your auto attack, and combo points from shadow technique. It also important to note that sims do A LOT of iterations (or simulated fights), in order to be accurate, but there is still a margin for error. An average simulation might simulate 15-17 thousand fights. That brings the margin of error down to 0.05%, which for most people ends up being 60 dps. Small swings in gear (like changing ring enchants or gems), usually end up being so small that sims by default aren’t accurate enough to truly know the difference. And if sims can’t tell, you for sure can’t tell. A lot of people really underestimate how rng specs are, even when they don’t have built in procs. My rogue swings about 15k from my best pull on a boss to my worst. A stat change is a grain of sand on a beach in comparison. Really a long explanation, but the tldr is “yeah, haste can be good for things, and raidbots might think it’s very slightly better, but you have to think about if you’re ever going to fully realize that small gain in game as a human”. My margin is about 1%. If it’s less than a 1% gain for say a trinket, I usually like to think about whether I want to play the trinket on that fight or not. Over 1% is auto-equip
Raidbots aint gonna do dps for you. I do sim, but If you to know the rotation and your class that aint gonna help. Its so annoying when there o a big change related to the class. But tips really help tho. But i still hate the rotation mech 😒
I disagree with what you said completely. I think what you might mean is that raidbots wont fix the problem by just simming, but the info it gives will definitely help. Tried and tested on dozens of specs for years :D
@@MarcelianOnline what i mean is that people put so much on Sim and dont figure that its beyond that as well. For exemple: i hit 110k according to It, but in the reality my avarage já 70k or something like that. Idk If its rotation tho. Only simming aint gonna help If one doesnt figure It out his Spec. But since in every expansion they change the modus operandi of It, It gets tough. Arcane mage isnt the one i used to play and love and frost isnt the one i liked to play in SL. Raidbots is a tool like any other. If you want to eat food, you’ll need a fork. If you want to hit a nail, you’ll need a hammer. Raidbots isn’t the right tool for every job, but you can use the info it gives to help point you in the right direction. Yes it plays close to optimally, but as flame showed, you can use that to help your understanding by seeing its damage breakdown and buff uptimes. Being able to sim a target dummy, and then test it for yourself is a huge benefit for a lot of players who simply don’t know what they breakdown is supposed to look like for example. It won’t tell you how to push your buttons, that’s for a guide to explain, but raidbots is just a good tool to have in your pocket when you’re trying to improve
Raidbots is trash, it’s doing wrong rotation for a lot of specs, numbers are cringe there. My friend is playing DPS monk, and he is doing 200k more DPS in 5 targets 5 min fight that raidbots. Same thing happening for Arcane mage, just wrong rotation, low numbers. Not sure why everyone is crazy about that bullshit.

where do i see what stat i need the most? stat weights should not be used raidbot says.. just compare rings and stuff with different enchanted stats?
