I really enjoy adding those kinds of background tables to my settings, I use them a bit like the skill set of the character and I don't really call for any sort of check if I think it'd fall under that background. I tend to expand the equipment they get a bit more and don't use starting gold (unless its something like a mayor for instance they might have a pouch of coins), so I guess they are also equipment packages in a sense, this way the players can just jump into a game after rolling a few dice and filling out the sheet. Always enjoy your videos.
Thank you. Sorry about the length. I could probably communicate the same information in half the time, but I really have to pretend that these are chats between friends or I wouldn't have released any of them.
@@toddlyons There's nothing wrong with the length, in fact I prefer even longer videos. Your tone is conversational and easy to follow, instead of trying to cram as much information as possible into a short video, and I like it.
I actually didn't realize that DCC RPG wasn't released until 2012... the same year as this supplement. I'm inclined to think that DCC RPG came first and that this is an open source adaptation, but only Austin Schaefer could say for certain.
@@toddlyons nice. Yeah, probably right. It's not my preferred way to play (but I'm only about 75% OSR minded, lol) but it's awesome to have it available natively for BF fans!
My guess is that the name switch is to avoid any perceivable intellectual property infringement. I doubt that Goodman would issue a take-down notice, but then I didn't think WotC would try to claw back the OGL.
Can't believe I missed this when it went live - amazing video and an interesting BFRPG resource!!
No worries! I'm glad you enjoyed it, Mark.

@@toddlyonsI think your doing great, wish I could articulate as well as you do. Sometimes we ourselves are our biggest critics.

Oh….now I need to try this.
There's something liberating about playing characters you have no emotional investment in. In a four-pack.
@@toddlyons yes!
Similar to Dungeon Crawl Classics, then... very interesting. I wonder which came first, lol. Nice to see the option here too

I had always understood these as a "funnel" but I do think tumbler is more a fitting title.
