You have to consider the fact that our brother is playing through an Orange amp which are notorious for having a little Fuzzyness to them. So Not sure the Blade gets a fair assessment here but the 33 probably is the tighter of the two. I love that Bottom End being an older Sabbath/Pantera/Stoner Rock/Death Metal fan and player.
Hi Ray! There isn't a comparison,No way, "Blade" absolutely wins !As I told before, I set it like this way: SAW at 12 (center), CUT at 9 (3), DEEP at 2 (7), so I recreated Boss HM-2 legendary tone ! 33 is a good boost pedal but with a fix EQ, and the results depends on guitar amp! I think it's a bit allergic to solid state amps, while it works best on tube amps, but it's my opinion ! Anyway I mean that anyone could find his own taste with Fortin boost pedals ! Well done Ray ! \m/
In terms of your view on the 33, i unfortunately Can say i agree, as my current cheapo amp is a horrible fit for the 33. Planning to buy a Dual or triple rec in some months after i buy my new guitar. But i would still choose the 33, cause im a massive meshuggah stan
@@l0rd_breeigo-sama954 Hello Lord_ B ! I started to follow Meshuggah since "day one" too !!! This is the reason why I choose Fortin 's "Blade"; I think the best tone came from "MESHUGGAH - SIG AMP" now Discontinued ! Mårten & Fredrik 's first tone came out from Mesa's Rectos (D/T) and it was shaped by lead channel eq so "33" boosted and huged, to me 33 addeded the right bite ! With Marshall amps or different brands "Blade" gives a kick with 1*12 and 4*12 cabs, isn't it ? Please let me know your opinion ! Stay well and safe !
Both sounded killer, though I did enjoy the gnarly-ness of the Blade. But that 33 just cuts and I mean surgically. I can see why it’s a go to for extended range guitars. Funnily enough I imagine the Blade would pair a little better with the EVH 6L6. Given it’s such a clear sounding amp, dialing a little saw from the pedal would possibly give a little Orange fuzziness to it and add some teeth. Great work as always 👍
@@xanderraymondcharles yeah I could see the 33 not really doing much with the EVH's except maybe clean boosting them. Given how clear they already sound that could be a bad thing and thin out the sound. Or at the very least just make a very clear tone, but louder. Hmmm Blade boosted 6L6 EVH vs. 33 boosted Orange might be fun.
@@xanderraymondcharles my 33 hates my carbon v3m with a passion. It makes a cardboard box manifest before my eyes when I plug it in no matter what I do! But my laboga mr hector and my triple rectifier love it. Amp needs to be somewhat naturally dark and scooped sounding to really work well IMO. Oddly enough I have had great tones with a variety of Marshall amps though they are notoriously mid heavy amps so many my logic is flawed.
Thanks Ray, this video helped me in making a decision. Just got a PRS mt15, my 1st tube amp! Sounds great & I'm really excited to be playing guitar again. Wasn't sure what boost to get but after watching a few videos I've concluded that the 33 is the best sounding to my ears! Great video comparison
I've owned both, both are killer pedals but both serve different purposes, between all the pedals the blade is like the middle child, it's more dynamic to be able to dial in with different rigs especially when using 7 and 8 strings. The 33 is very straightforward and transparent.
Literally about to throw my Boss SD-1 and Ibanez Tube Screamer out the window 😂😂. I NEED to get one of those 33’s!! To each it’s own as well, the Blade is pretty killer as well, which is rare as I don’t typically like a lot of low end and prefer a tighter sound. Fortin never fails to surprise me lol
I gotta go with the 33 as well and it's because of the clarity you mentioned. The saw just pushes too much low end for me. It's more fuzzy than the 33.
the blade is a clone of the tc preamp circuit so you should have dialed it the way meshuggah dials their tc pedal if you wanted to accurately compare it to the 33. you should have maxed the volume maxed the bass cut and adjusted treble to taste for your pickups.
I have the airis effects integrated preamp clone(pretty close to saw) and have been told that the set eq for the grind and 33 is treble at 11 o'clock and the bass it totally cut. Some food for thought👍😀
I have to go with the 33 as my favorite also. I have the 33, Grind, and the Blade but I use the 33 on more amps and love the tightness it brings to them. The Blade is usable with the controls it has on the EVH 5150iii where as the 33 is not a fit for that amp. The Grind does have a spot on the blue channel. All three make the Randalls freaking scream though!
The Trendkiller see I had a 33 and ran it through my 5150iii and ended up selling the pedal haha. I thought it cut out way too much low end, even on my 7’s and 8’s. I’m keen to try a blade on the 5150iii however

Blade sounds like modern Death Core while 33 sounds like Meshuggah/djent.
So reasons to get both😂
That makes sense. The blade is a collaboration with the guys from Whitechapel, I believe.

fortin 33 wins easily for me, so much tighter

Thanks boss. Yeah I think the evh could pair well with this the blade I’ve yet to try it. But funny enough the 33 doesn’t pair well with evh

Good riffs. I preferred the 33 for it's brightness and cut. The 33 would sound better the lower you tune.

How’s the did you get the 33? I just got the PRS MT15 and looking into pedals for it. How does it pair if you did get it?
using the Blade stacked with an MXR Modified OD on the EVH blue channel and it's a really nice sound.
Great video as always!
Great Demo. I LOVE your riffs!
Thanks bro!!!
Honestly, I would have them both on my board.
Blade all the way for me, I like a little more low end.

Agreed. 33 all day to cover my boost needs when I want to use a boost.

As far as pedals - Can’t choose. I dig em both.

New vid from Ray UwU
The 33 is tight, really nice!!
Ray i love your 👕 👨. And nice pedals. SALUTE ✌& GOODBYE. Long live JIM ROOT.
Hell yeah Ray I thought the 33 sounded better too
Yeah they both sound great but the 33 does the trick 🙌
What about blade stacked with the od808 ?
Honestly: I liked the mid punch in the ribs, on the Blade; 33, was a little on the high/fizzy, to my ears. Tough call, though, man; great video 🤘🏻
I love Meshuggah, I have a 33 and an rg2228. I can’t say I’m unbiased. The 33 wins. That being said might need the saw🧐
One day I will have one!
you won't be disappointed bro!
Do you have one yet?

Why is the 33 not fit for the 5150 III?
Fortin 33 wins over all!
