    Kenny, wow, that is so great. Love that project. Maybe the same idea with flashing lights. Really nice project I can’t stress that enough.

    You tried to wrap your head around it, got it drilled into your skull, and finally the light came on! Lot of fun Ken thanks!

    Hellomy friend Kenny, to give a little more durability and to your silicone mold, with a brush or a cotton swab you can smear baby oil.
    its detachment from the mold will be easier and faster. You will also keep your mold for a longer time since you do not force when removing the objects.
    If you do not get baby oil, you can use petroleum jelly, but in both cases it is just a light layer and you remove the excess with a dry cloth.
    I hope the advice is useful to you, regards.

    As usual Kenny, great video. Also worth mentioning that there many varied silicone moulds for baking and chocolate making that would be great to use.

      I couldn't agree more. There are plenty of kitchens that went through a chocolate making phase and now their molds are out to garage sales. Keep you eyes open. You may get a bargain. Thanks for tuning in and for the suggestion.

    Get yourself a large round tub and every time you have leftover resin add a little colour or resin powder colours and then add to the tub so after a few months you will have a large resin blank and never waste resin again

    I have tried this but my finished project is cloudy
    How do you get the mold shiny to give it a more glass like appearance ?

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  3 роки тому

      A large part of casting resin is in the mold. If the silicone mold has a smooth finish, the skulls will have a smooth glass like finish. If the mold is patterned, the finished product will not be as shiny and smooth. Another aspect is the curing. It is very important to have the epoxy completely mixed and it is even more important to get all the air bubbles out of your mixture. Tiny air bubbles will cause a cloudy looking finished product. Using a pressure pot can really help with this. I have a video on converting a paint pot into a pressure pot and as well, another video on the difference between using one and not using one. Here's some links.

    How are your molds shiny ? I have the same but the mold is matte

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  3 роки тому

      I checked on my molds to make sure and I checked the pumpkins lights (I made this quite a while ago) The molds are not shiny and neither are the skeleton lights. They have a matt finish but the resin is clean with no bubbles whatsoever, giving it a slightly frosted glass look. Sorry about that.
