Mia Zapata was a songwriter & lead singer of the Seattle punk band The Gits. They were contemporaries of other Seattle bands like Nirvana & Pearl Jam & often performed with them. The Gits had taken a break during their 1993 national tour & were home in Seattle for the July 4th holiday & to put the final touches on their second album. Mia had been out with friends & was walking home. Her body was found less than 2 hours later on July 7, 1993- she had been beaten, sexually assaulted & strangled. Her band was concerned when she didn't show up at the recording studio the next morning & started making calls looking for her. She was entered in at the morgue as a Jane Doe, but an assistant coroner, who was a fan of The Gits, identified her. Because he was a fan, he was likely more thorough in gathering evidence from her body. When the police let the case go cold, her band mates rallied the Seattle music community to pool funds to hire a private investigator. Benefit concerts were held that included Nirvana, Pearl Jam & Seven Year Bitch. When those funds ran out, the PI worked for free for a time until rocker Joan Jett heard Mia's story & lent her talents to produce a benefit album of The Gits' songs with Joan singing Mia's parts under the name "Evil Stig" (which is Gits Live backwards). The PI kept pressure on the PD & when DNA became a viable source of evidence in criminal cases, she insisted that DNA evidence gathered from saliva left in a bite wound by Mia's murderer be added to the DNA database. Soon they got a match with a man with a history of violence against women. He was convicted in 2004 & died in prison in 2020. Friends of Mia's started a self defense program for women call Home Alive in her memory. The 7 Year Bitch song "Viva Zapata" was released in honor of Mia, as well as Joan Jett's song "Go Home". The Gits released their second album that Mia had been working on at the time of her death & 2 additional albums featuring Mia on vocals posthumously. She was 27 when she was murdered. Her death was felt deeply by the Seattle music community. Her band never gave up on getting justice for her. A documentary "The Gits Movie" was made about her story.

Rhett Forrester, the best known lead singer of NYC-based power metal band Riot, was murdered in Atlanta on January 22, 1994 after he refused to surrender his vehicle to a group of fleeing bank robbers from the scene of the crime.
Stephanie Moseley didn't cheat on her husband. He was jealous of her success and became increasingly insecure over time as her career was really beginning to take off on tv, on the big screen, and in the dance world. He had convinced himself she was cheating on him with all these men including with the singer Usher whom she had just come off tour with and she was his principle dancer for that tour. His career wasn't progressing as hers was and he was convinced that she would leave him for someone else more successful than him.
Great list, but you did not mention Dominique Dunne, Haing S. Ngor, Lana Clarkson, Ramon Novarro, Ted Healy, Jason Mizell, David Akeman, Dino Bravo, Nipsey Hussle, Young Dolph, Bruiser Brodie, and Wild Bill Hickok.
How terrible that so many talented and beloved actors, actresses and other celebrities had their lives cut short in such horrendous circumstances. As an Englishman I find it difficult to believe that so many tragedies could have happened in Europe or Canada to so many prominent people, at least not the sheer amount of violent deaths that have been reported here in this video. It is sad that such violence seems to be a terrible fact of life in the USA, a great nation that deserves far better.
Susan Cabot's incident got my attention the most...Hope her son had/has an everlasting miserable life ! ...Imagine carrying, nurturing, loving and raising your own murderer [can't even "smh" behind that one]
I thought the same thing… Then I researched him and he was suffering from Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease that was caused by an experimental hormone treatment that he received as a child because he was born with dwarfism. Also, his mother was so mentally ill at the time of her death that HER therapist testified on the son’s behalf at trial. The son also died at age 39. Tragic story all around.
A very well researched list but you missed a couple others-Actor Sal Mineo was stabbed to death as he returned home on February 12,1976. Actress Barbara Colby was shot to death on July 24,1975 as she and a friend were walking to their car following an acting class.
Barbara Colby, just a brilliant actress whose star was on the rise. She was such a hit on the Mary Tyler Moore show that she was offered a starring role in spin-off "Phyllis." Her random murder was never solved.
Here's another one Maybe do a part 2 : On July 24, 1975, Barbara Colby and acting colleague James Kiernan were walking to their car following an acting class in Palms, Los Angeles, California, when they were shot inside a parking area.[4] The murders occurred sometime after the first three episodes of the upcoming TV series Phyllis had been filmed.😢

This is very sad, and all I wanna know is why some of these murderers didn’t immediately get the death penalty for example, Charles Manson and his gang! Yes, I realize his particular sentence was commuted. However, I don’t think that was justice😢
The death sentence was done away with briefly. I don't recall if it was only California or all states. Anyway when this occurred all those convicted of murder automatically received the life in prison sentence and so Manson died in prison. I think one of the women was eventually released. Thanks Gavin Newsom.
Dorothy Stratten was also born in Vancouver, Canada 🇨🇦 before Stephanie Moseley. Their death situations are nearly mirror images: both by husbands, in Los Angeles and husbands commit suicide. Was in a way a nice tribute to these murdered victims. However, should of been labeled celebrities who were murdered as many weren't actors. Sad that is seems many rap singers get murdered.
What about Natalie Wood ? It is commonly known that she drowned in the waters of Catalina Island . In Marti Rulli's revealing book, she and the skipper of Nat's and RJ's yacht Splendour stated that there is evidence that Natalie was pushed off the yacht intentionally. Evidence: - Natalie was terribly afraid of water ; she and hubby RJ Wagner had a violent fight on returning to the yacht together with Christopher Walken and other evidence - to the point where LAPD reopened the case in 2011.
It was reopened, but still hasn't been proven. Until it becomes FACT and without doubt, it will never be fully settled. Many people can believe what they want, but all of these years later her death still hasn't been solved. And most likely never will.
I'm surprised Dominique Dunne wasn't in this list. She was strangled by John Sweeney, a local chef she was dating and had broken up with. She played the oldest daughter in "Poltergeist." She was the daughter of acclaimed writer, Dominick Dunne and sister of Griffin Dunne.
All these murders are tragic but the most senseless and heartbreaking 💔 was that of Sharon tate a heavily pregnant actress and her friends slaughtered for no reason just the manson family logic which was lsd meskalyn fueled insanity. Such a senseless waste of those people.
I never said they weren't senseless I just meant "in my opinion the MOST senseless " those 4 people Sharon tate her baby and 3 friends were horrific and they also marked the end of the make love not war movement and 1000s of innocent people were persecuted because of that massacre by the manson family, I didn't mean to sound like I was making light of anyone else's loss of life, I even started the comment with "all these murders are tragic " all due respect I think your jumping the gun on the context of my words. It doesn't mean the rest were any less tragic, gotta walk on eggshells do I??
There was a reason, Charlie had visited the Tate residence to talk to Terry Melcher ( Doris Day's son) about a music career the producer promised he would have, that didnt eventuate, feeling let down Charlie visited the Home to find out Melcher no longer lived there ( Sharon and Roman were renting the residence) that property represented to Charlie the affluent society who saw him as a joke and promises meant nothing, back at Spahn ranch Manson wanted revenge ( knowing Melcher was no longer there) so Charles " Tex" Watson, Patricia Krenwinkle and Susan Atkins were given the mission to murder anyone and everyone there, ( in the words of Manson himself, " Make It Look Witchy)
There a actress missing I can't think of her name she was in a episode of Colombo I thin the episode was called murder by the book starring jack Cassidy as a writer she played the lady who run the store
Soo sad, may they all R.I.P especially Shane Tate's beautiful unborn little baby.as a 66 yrs old Australian l always wondered what happened to some of these movie stars.
Dominique Dunne, who was the older daughter in Poltergeist, strangled soon after by her estranged boyfriend. She was also the sister of actor Griffin Dunne.
Da Real One is missing from this list. He was a rapper and a poet who owned a business I think it was a coffee shop or cafe he was shot in front of it. RIP to everyone who lost their lives. I know some of the names here and didn't even know that they were murdered so thank you for the info. What about Take Off who was killed last year in a club? And who is this Manson family, some mafia family?
There must hundreds of actors who died by strange means before their time. The guy who played in the Gold medal Olympic Hockey movie died in Des Moines WA.
I hear babies cry I watch them grow They'll learn much more Than I'll ever know And I think to myself What a wonderful world Yes, I think to myself What a wonderful world Ooh, yes
I was in Miami Beach when Versace got murdered. All over the news hunting the guy down. I believe they finally found him hiding in a boat on the inner waterway. I don't remember what happened to him. Did the police shoot and kill him or the did they arrest him, or did guy kill himself? I forget. Versace was killed right on the front steps of his mansion on Ocean Drive. I believe it is now a hotel, taken over by hotel next door. I saw pics of inside, extremely ornate.

He had convinced himself she was cheating on him with all these men including with the singer Usher whom she had just come off tour with and she was his principle dancer for that tour. His career wasn't progressing as hers was and he was convinced that she would leave him for someone else more successful than him.
Amazing how you know she wasn't cheating, great job.
Yeah , yes she did
That's so sad. A real man wouldn't have been so insecure. An attractive man wouldn't be insecure at all.
@@Huckster-tj9if she slept with Trey?

Rebecca Schaeffer’s death brought about legislation making it a crime to use licence plates to track someone down.
Yep a good thing rip rebecca
Why didn’t you mention Marvin Gaye?
Sadly I remember almost every one of these beautiful people losing their lives for no reason. May they rest in Peace
19:00 her death also changed the way the DMV handles requests for address. That's how he got her address, by asking them for confirmation.
Great list, but you did not mention Dominique Dunne, Haing S. Ngor, Lana Clarkson, Ramon Novarro, Ted Healy, Jason Mizell, David Akeman, Dino Bravo, Nipsey Hussle, Young Dolph, Bruiser Brodie, and Wild Bill Hickok.
Or Jesus Christ 🤭
Jesus Christ wasn't an actor or entertainer,@@inquiz-ahteev. Then again, neither were Dian Fossey nor Jay Sebring.
Or Steve "Sausage" Baloney.😔
Or Random Koon.
I didn’t know bruiser Brody was murdered awwe
Judith Barsi is especially tragic.
Amazing Ms Lola, I loved it, it's beautiful!❤️👏👏👏
How terrible that so many talented and beloved actors, actresses and other celebrities had their lives cut short in such horrendous circumstances. As an Englishman I find it difficult to believe that so many tragedies could have happened in Europe or Canada to so many prominent people, at least not the sheer amount of violent deaths that have been reported here in this video. It is sad that such violence seems to be a terrible fact of life in the USA, a great nation that deserves far better.
That is a notorious amount of murders!
Tragic story all around.
she must be the woman who starred in the wasp lady.murdered by her son.unbelievable!
The saddest part of these actors that were murdered, never received any justice
Such sad stories. God Bless them all.
Perhaps the title could be "Famous" rather than "Actors"
They left out actress Barbara Colby.
Colby and a friend were killed at night in a parking lot by an unknown assailant.
A very well researched list but you missed a couple others-Actor Sal Mineo was stabbed to death as he returned home on February 12,1976. Actress Barbara Colby was shot to death on July 24,1975 as she and a friend were walking to their car following an acting class.
He mentioned Sal Mineo.
He did forget actor Ramon Novarro.
Sal Mineo was there
Barbara Colby was a great comedic actress. Did a great job on Mary Tyler Moore so she was cast in the spinoff Phyllis. That's a shame
Marvin Gaye was murdered by his father.
Hi rickkiricci yes part 2 for sure, thanks ill include that 1..and Barbara Colby was prob gonna be a big star..may they both R.I.P so sad...

Marvin gaye Who was a singer Got shot and killed by his father.
Good Heavens! His Dad?
Yes, they had some kind of argument. To the point His father grabbed his gun and shot him.
He found out he was Gaye.
State Marvin Gaye at was jealious of his son's Marvin s Gaye jr relationship with his mother
He was higher than a satellite dish at the time of the incident
Gianni Versace wasn’t an actor. He was a fashion designer.
And also Carl "Alfalfa" Switzer's death was ruled justifiable homicide or self defense
@@luisbohorquez7096 yeah I heard Switzer was a troublemaker and got his in the end.
WOW....they mentioned that in the opening of his segment, Versace was actually an [actor by association]
Yeah why ppl get on her and yap dam everybody know the Versace name good lawd the man wasn't an actor where do y'all come of wit this shit smh fr real it's just crazy the man wasn't an actor dummies he was into a fashion mmm duh who ever make these dumb comments must not be from America or you living under a rock fr come on now don't comment unless you know what the hell you talking about we are truly amazed how big bosses on you tube let bs slide
Dianne Fossey wasn’t an actor either.
Dominique Dunne was a actress who was also brutally & tragically murdered.
RIP to the actresses. 😢
Music for Stratten. Bryan Adams was in Vancouver back in the 1970s while Stratten was growing up. BA is the co-writer in both Cover Girl and The Best Was Yet to Come. The 2nd song appeared in his album Cuts Like a Knife and in the soundtrack to the movie 🎥 A Night in Heaven, both albums released in 1983, 40 years ago 🎂.
1995. Bryan Adams again. He, Mutt Lange and late Michael Kamen wrote Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman for the soundtrack to the movie 🎥 Don Juan de Marco starring Johnny Depp and the late Marlon Brando.
Selena played a singer in the movie. Her song was also in the soundtrack.
After her death, Johnny Depp gave a short eulogy.
RIP to Michael Kamen, Marlon Brando and Selena Quintanilla.
1 week after the Christina Grimmie murder, Orlando had murders in a nightclub.
The way she was murdered was extremely disturbing to here and see in that movie.
Great compilation and edit. Wowsa
😢 Wow, this was sad 😔. Most still so very young. Their whole lives still ahead of them ,but cut short just like that !. RIP
It’s sad but I don’t feel for Lloyd Avery. He got his karma. He murdered two people then he was savagely murdered in prison. So justice was rightfully served 😊
Still a cold case, I heard, can’t prove suicide but haven’t ruled out homicide. Same with Bob Crane (Hogan’s Heroes)
Dimebag and Sharron Tates murders always stuck with me.
Since they included Dian Fosse how about Joy Adamson and her husband George who were the owners of the lioness Elsa and the authors of the Born Free books which wdre made into movies.
They were both murdered years apart in seperate unrelated incidents. Joy was murdered in 1980 and George in 1989
Really?
Awesome video. You forgot that Versace was murdered by Andrew Cunanan.
Don’t forget George Reeves
George Reeves case still hasn't been solved. They don't know if it was a possible suicide.
👍👍👍
...just the same, I still to this day say that Bobby Fuller was a murder/cover-up
George reeves committed suicide
I don’t believe that to be the case
I agree. It definitely wasn't suicide
Rest in peace Darrell Abbott
I miss Dominique Dunne, Pier Paolo Pasolini and, most likely, George Reeves.
Oh yeah Superman was murdered.
Wow i didn't know a lot of them especially what happened to them. Interesting Video. I just Subscribed

To these day the death of Christina Grimmie makes me sad
I always thought that somebody killed her, but I won't mention any names.
@@aspenrebel the book did !!! It's time for the REAL truth !!
Natalie Wood was murdered too!!
You don't know that !
For1085
No,no...She fell into the water & drowned. Wagner was in the cabin with Christopher Walken. 🤔
Brandon Lee was murder too.
That was never proven
@kevinbenit was supposedly a tragic accident yard9376
Wow terrible losses. They will always be remembered. Sadly taken to soon!!! RIP
Missed Bobby Fuller of I fought the law and law won fame. His killer was never found, probably a cop.
R.I.P. Dimebag 😢
I was unaware that Versace was a Hollywood actor🤔
All these murders are tragic but the most senseless and heartbreaking 💔 was that of Sharon tate a heavily pregnant actress and her friends slaughtered for no reason just the manson family logic which was lsd meskalyn fueled insanity. Such a senseless waste of those people.
And the others weren't senseless at all? Or only a bit senseless in comparison ?
I never said they weren't senseless I just meant "in my opinion the MOST senseless " those 4 people Sharon tate her baby and 3 friends were horrific and they also marked the end of the make love not war movement and 1000s of innocent people were persecuted because of that massacre by the manson family, I didn't mean to sound like I was making light of anyone else's loss of life, I even started the comment with "all these murders are tragic " all due respect I think your jumping the gun on the context of my words.
It doesn't mean the rest were any less tragic, gotta walk on eggshells do I??
Millions of humans used LSD.. nice scapegoat though.
Wonder why your world was never a fairy tale?
That is not true. The reason was helter skelter.
So freaking crazy 😲 how a lot these celebrities were murdered!! SMH 🤦😒
May they rest in peace 🙏🏽
Diana Fossey was a heroine. 🙏
Such tragic endings 🥺
There a actress missing I can't think of her name she was in a episode of Colombo I thin the episode was called murder by the book starring jack Cassidy as a writer she played the lady who run the store
Barbara Colby. She also did a Gunsmoke and was on MTM.
That it I couldn't think of her name
Her case never solved .... Shameful
@@SorryWereOpen247 the heading said one that was murdered it doesn't say murders that were soved
This was supposed to be actors. It should be titled “Famous people who were murdered,” not actors who were murdered.
Very cool 😎 😅😅😅😅
If Sharon and Jay hadn’t broke up they’d still be here 🥺🥺🥺
I think you got the details about Carl Switzer's death backwards. Also you overlooked Dominique Dunne.
This was very interesting.
I subbed
👍👍
Soo sad, may they all R.I.P especially Shane Tate's beautiful unborn little baby.as a 66 yrs old Australian l always wondered what happened to some of these movie stars.
Never heard of a lot of these. No mention of Barbara Colby. Also, Gig Young and Albert Salmi did the murder suicide thing with their partners.
Gig Young was once married to Elizabeth Montgomery.
Gee.@@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hc
Gig Young committed suicide(after committing murder)
This video is "actors who were murdered", not actors who committed murder and then commit suicide.
Get the stick out.@@aspenrebel
Dominique Dunne, who was the older daughter in Poltergeist, strangled soon after by her estranged boyfriend. She was also the sister of actor Griffin Dunne.
Da Real One is missing from this list. He was a rapper and a poet who owned a business I think it was a coffee shop or cafe he was shot in front of it. RIP to everyone who lost their lives. I know some of the names here and didn't even know that they were murdered so thank you for the info. What about Take Off who was killed last year in a club? And who is this Manson family, some mafia family?
Bloody shocking !! That is why I do not want to be rich and famous neither poor, Just somewhere in the middle !!
Such tragedies ,they had there whole life a head of them SAD😪
I have a portrait of Sharon Tate left to me by my father.
Marie Trintiginant reminds me of Bones a little bit in the first photo. The actress Emily Deschanel from the series BONES.
I thought so too!
There must hundreds of actors who died by strange means before their time. The guy who played in the Gold medal Olympic Hockey movie died in Des Moines WA.
Well, that certainly makes that perfectly clear.
Lots of non-actors on this list of murdered actors.
Rest in peace to all
Jealoussy and unnessacairy violence. Been there but escaped in time.
I hear babies cry
I watch them grow
They'll learn much more
Than I'll ever know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Ooh, yes
Well this video has cheered us all up no end lol
I was in Miami Beach when Versace got murdered. All over the news hunting the guy down. I believe they finally found him hiding in a boat on the inner waterway. I don't remember what happened to him. Did the police shoot and kill him or the did they arrest him, or did guy kill himself? I forget. Versace was killed right on the front steps of his mansion on Ocean Drive. I believe it is now a hotel, taken over by hotel next door. I saw pics of inside, extremely ornate.
They arrested him.
Sadly there are others. Some of them were very famous in a way or another.
Can I suggest some names: Al Adamson (killed by his house keeper) Marvin Gaye (killed by his father), Barbara Colby (died 9-11), Hieronymus (killed by a bandmate of Mahyem), Pier Paolo Pasolini (italian director and poet, killed by a young gigolò), Nicole Brown Simpson (OJ ex wife), Lana Clarkson (killed by Phil Spector), William Desmond Taylor (murderer unknow), Susan Cabot, Ramon Novarro, Bobby Fuller (found dead in his car)... These are they I remember now... 😅
