I'm surprised to know this park is gone. It was really well-made. I suppose that's just what happenes---no matter how much talent and work goes into these, they eventually are gone.
It's a shame. I played here when we visited US about 22 years ago but kids nowadays don't really know and care for the franchise like we did. Will always have the memories though❤️
@@stevenscrewmeverse2285 i remember playing on this when I was 7 back in 1996. I thought it was a fever dream fake memory but turned out it was a real thing lol
Wow, my memory of this is so faded and dreamlike. I was just reminded of it, because of my first visit in 8 years. It really doesn’t make sense in DHS at all, but nostalgia is a curse.
So sad it is gone now. I am glad I got to see it in 2015 again as an adult, didn't know it would be my last time. This was always a magical place for me. Everything from the smells, the feel of the rubbery ground, the smooth slides worn well over time, the textures of everything, will always be in my memory.
I'm going to be honest, they need to put something else like this in. I'm 21 years old now and it was removed when I was still a teenager. But I loved this. It was so immersive and that's what disney is all about. Not every kid wants to sit on a ride, so I think it's good to have playgrounds so kids can be hands on and get some extra energy out if they don't want to sit still in a ride. Bugs life would be great for this. Just put a playground like this in animal kingdom. Or even Pandora. Heck, it would even be cool to have a playground based around Peter Pans hideout
I remember playing in this as a kid! I wanted to go back after learning that it wasn’t just a fever dream lol. I’m sad I’ll never get to relive such a magical piece of my childhood. That was one of my favourite memories!
i just watched a defunct attractions and saw this and i was shocked cause i thought it was a fever dream too! i’m glad it existed and i’m sad that it’s gone now as well
this makes me sad, I played in that play area in 1994 when I was 4 and I haven't been back since. I kept wanting to go, and still do even though a lot has changed.
R.I.P. Honey, I Shrunk the Kids at Disney Parks (December 17, 1990-April 2, 2016) As there are no more signs or mentions or characters of the franchise anywhere anymore. Now it is considered as Discontinued Disney.
Wow video brings back good memories…I’m 38 now and all I see is me and my brothers running around when we were young with our parents and even grandparents watching.
I went there when I was like 3... I JUST read a comment that said it was gone! AWWWW MAN! I REALLLLY wanted to see it again! It was my FAVORITE part of that trip 😕🙁☹️😣😖😢😭😱
I freaking loved this when I went as a little kid. Such a blast. I probably spent the most time in there than any other section of Disney. The web and the tunnels were the best parts imo.
So much nostalgia, I remember going here as a kid with my siblings, running away and hiding from my parents in the tunnels. So sad it’s gone now, happy I got to experience it then. Definitely feels like a fever dream but happy to see these records of it. Wish they would’ve kept this.
i vividly remeber this playground from my first trip to Disney World! i've always wondered what it is was - i only remembered thinking the inside part was so cool. thank you for archiving it!
Even though this attraction scared the absolute HECK out of me as a kid at some parts, I can’t deny how amazing this playground was. The sound effects of the environment combined with the visual effects of just seeing things in the perspective of an ant was awesome. The Honey I Shrunk movies were a childhood fav of mine as I was a little science buff kiddo. The Great Movie Ride was everything as well. It also sucks not seeing Mickey’s Sorcerer’s hat in the middle of the park anymore. Least glad to had experienced it when it was still called MGM Studios
The movie is very dated now but still my favorite movies. I can’t wait for the new movie especially with the return of Rick Moranis. Many kids today never heard of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.
I remember this from the first time I went to Disney in 2007. I was TERRIFIED that there would be an actual giant bug and I was so scared to explore too much, I mean I was 8 after all. I wish I could’ve gone back here and explored it more when I wasn’t terrified of everything, but this video definitely brought back memories
3:07 i remember going to that part and I was so terrified because it was dark and close together and that’s how I got my claustrophobia. It was so scary
I need to know this....was there not a lego to play in in there? Lol I specifically remember a lego (as well as the rest) but I cant find the lego to show my husband anywhere. Maybe some mandala effect going in in my head? Lol HELPPP!
This is something Disney has always had to do from the beginning. Close stuff to make room for the park to grow with their films. After all, if they kept everything open, they'd need to buy up all the land in the city to make room for new ideas. XD I don't think that would go over well.
In all fairness, Disney has kept more of the old than Universal has. Disney does a much better job at incorporating both old and new, instead of Universal which just likes to get rid of all their old attractions. That said, I am sad to see this Honey I Shrunk the Kids attraction go.
Hey 👋 can They have honey I Shrunk the kids the ride Attraction at Disneyland Resort like Disney California Adventure when they ever replaced California soaring ride into Honey I shrunk the kids the ride Attraction at Disney California adventure.

@@floridaredfishin8209 this was one of my most vivid memories from the mid-90s/early 90s in Disney World.
I was here in like 2011 and I was really young I think I was 4, but I really do remember a lot of the rides and attractions I attended here.
Wow, my memory of this is so faded and dreamlike. I was just reminded of it, because of my first visit in 8 years. It really doesn’t make sense in DHS at all, but nostalgia is a curse.

I'll never forget that playground, like The Great Movie Ride
Such a tragic update. TGMR was the main stage for the park and now is replaced by a cheap animated kiddie ride.
I miss this place. One of my favorite jobs ever.
I enjoyed working there too!
They totally should’ve kept this, and incorporated this into toy story land. Also, the grass blades would give good shade in the sun!

Wow this video reminds me of my childhood....33 now
Dude, me too. As soon as I saw the Oreo I had a foggy memory of it.. those were the best times of our lives and we didn't even know it. I'm 32 now.

Same age and same
Same age and same too! Lol
Talk about a “Memory Unlocked” moment 😊
BROOOO THIS PLACE WAS FIRE HOW COULD THEY
Not my eyes leaking over this nostalgia 😢
This was my best experience when I went because I could run from my mom trying to take choreographed pics of me lmao
The best part of the whole park when I visited as a kid. Thanks for the video!
Some of my fondest childhood memories were here.

The last reference of this movie in the disney parks is in the figment ride at epcot
i remember they showcased it or unveiled it on the disney channel back in the day... feel so sad, miss the good'ol days. disney channel had magic.

Such good times... now just a memory.
Dang, this attraction is only a year younger than me... Sad to see it go, but it had a good run!
Why didnt they use part of these sets in the toystory land instead of putting stupid bamboo?
i remember this...
ahh the memories of being afraid of the dog’s giant nose.

So many fond memories with both of our children when they were young, hate to see it go!
OMG! I forgot about that, and how awesome it was ❤
I’m sad I never got to see this in real life. But I’m glad it’s on some channels. So thank u UA-cam!
I feel like they really missed the opportunity to take this area, re-imagine it, and make it a Marvel Ant-Man themed area.
True but they can't do due that due to a contract from Universal. Disney can't make any Marvel attraction in FL, except in CA.
Gabriel Lezama I thought that contract was ending soon or they were in the process of buying it out.
I feel like that would completely destroy the magic of this area and just be another thing once good but is now ruined

My fav place in hollywood as a kid man...
I remember a giant Lego in there somewhere....
I remember going here when i was like 5-6 It’s sad that it’s gone now 😢
This loss hurts the most for me😢
I remember coming here at age 5 and having the time of my life in this playground 😭
looking for the dateline disney clip that showed this for the first time.
I don’t think I got to experience this attraction when I was a kid, same with The Great Movie Ride. Never had the chance.
😔
What area of the park was this?
Too bad that it's gone now😖😖
Aaron Juice
it’s gone? I didn’t know that :(
Seen it alot as i went thru the park i think i played on it as a kid idk
I have a memory of being terrified when playing here as a kid, I did not want to be shrunk
new movie please

Crying in the club because I can never visit this again
I've seen that when I was there with my family, but I didn't go inside. It's for little kids anyway.
They closed this?! Awwww.....
I’m sad😔
7 years ago!? I was n,t even born
sigh

I thought this was the cue line for a dark ride attraction. It was just a kids' playground? Meh!
I went through this as a kid in 1994
I was there once and I thought it looked scary because of all the giants bugs but if I was older I say it looked cool
