I passed the CA salesperson exam today (Feb 1st 2024)... 1st shot. I started studying with prep agent 7 DAYS AGO! No exaggeration. I took all of my course work 2yrs ago and knew nothing. I signed up and just took quizzes all day, everyday (instead of wasting time on socials). After a day or two, I began to understand the concepts, by mid week, I understood them mostly. Between the practice exams (the website), and these YT videos, I was successful in 7 DAYS! I HIGHLY recommend. This is an amazing resource, thank you so much ❤️

I passed today in Los Angeles !!! In the parking garage I said out loud “We did it Joe!!!” 😂🙏🏻🤞🏻 In all seriousness I found the exam to be difficult! What I believe the true key to passing with much more ease than I did is to yes definitely start with KNOWING all of your VOCAB, where you don’t just know the definition but how it’s applicable. Next do Cali specific practice exams where you focus only on the right answer, and know in depth why that answer is right. If it’s a simple answer keep it simple. Read the exam questions slowly, so you don’t allow them to trick you! Take note a few questions may answer another questions inside the question. Do process of elimination/similarity on questions you’re unsure of. Meaning if three answers sound/mean the same the outcast may be the right one. Try to be clear and concise with finding the right answer, even if it’s only a part of the answer. So in summary vocab until you know it all encompassing, then Cali practice questions in each section, then take your time on each question of the actual exam! You will see that each little effort you made in studying will help you grab a questions answer here & there. That adds up then you will score over 70%. What Joe is doing in these UA-cam videos is helping you get the vocab and a good base, then it’s up to you to do the practice tests to pick up the rest of the pieces of the puzzle. Thank you for creating this content Joe!

I passed the California test today! First try! Thanks to Prep Agent!
I know people are going to ask, so here goes:
The questions on the real estate exam are NOT like the questions Prep Agent gives. Prep Agent informs you of this. It is a great base to understanding the important concepts. Probably 10 or less questions were similar to Prep Agents practice questions so be prepared for that.
Here is a breakdown of everything I did to pass:
I signed up for PrepAgent in July 2023. Studied about 2-4 hours almost daily while taking and passing all 3 courses and getting the 3 certificates with the required 18 days in between. For personal reasons, a few months went by. I applied for the state test at the beginning of october 2023, set my test date for today Nov.8th.
Here is how I studied with Prep Agent: Every day take a practice test in the morning, and all of the questions you got wrong, you study those topics specifically throughout the day, and then at night, take another practice test. Do that every day for a few weeks. Note: when I started the daily practice test I would score low 70's% by the end I was only scoring mid 80's%. Never made it to 90 percent.
Now that I saw the test, I would highly recommend to study the vocabulary! For example, what are the DIFFERENCES between each type of loan? Because the questions will be worded to where you have to know the differences between the loans.
Study the vocab, and get comfortable with the DIFFERENCES between the vocab words.
Finally, when you go to take the test, you can easily skip questions and go back later.
How I took the test: I went through the whole 150 questions first, and answered the ones I was pretty sure of. Then, see how many you "got right" so far. My first run through, I felt I for sure got about 107/150 right. That was very close to the minimum passing. I then had about an hour or so left so I went back to the skipped questions and wrote down on the eraser board they give you and for each question I skipped I wrote down which of the 4 options the answer could possibly be. Then I just spent the rest of the time going over the questions I skipped and spent a bit more time on. This is a good time to ask yourself on each skipped question "what is the vocab word this question is about?" That definitely helped me pick between possible answers. And I passed first try!

I’ve been meaning to write this comment for a few days. I passed the CA exam first try on Saturday!... I’m hoping my advice is helpful and encouraging. For starters, I only studied 3-4 days. IN TOTAL. I was so incredibly discouraged by the comments saying you need 6-8 weeks of studying, 600 flash cards.. etc. I felt so underprepared I didn’t even want to show up for my exam. So I’m here to remind you IT IS POSSIBLE. DONT STRESS.
However when I say I studied 3-4 days... I mean consistently. Consecutively. I didn’t leave my bedroom and half the time forgot to drink water (thanks ADHD.) And I know that for some people this isn’t possible. Work, kids, etc. I’m JUST SAYING, if you can commit to a minimum of 3 completely dedicated days, you CAN PASS FIRST TRY. I obsessed over vocab. I took the vocab practice tests until I got a 97%. I NEVER passed a single “master exam practice test.” I would score as low as 30% and get frustrated and quit.
I studied vocab for 3 solid days and on day 4, I listened to the PrepAgent Spotify audios. I also listened to the Spotify the entire drive to my exam. I was STILL learning up until the very moment I got out of my car.
ITS POSSIBLE. YOU CAN DO IT. DONT STRESSSS! You only need a 70% so FOCUS ON VOCAB

Thank you sooo much Prep Agent for these awesome seminars. Everything you prepare us for was in the exam. You are super helpful and You make the webinars so memorable! I was listening to one of your webinars on my way to take the exam. I did everything you instructed all the way down from getting plenty of rest the night before and dressing comfortably. I ate a nice salad with spinach, carrots, tomatoes, and sliced chicken plus a lentil, kale, and coconut soup. I snacked on melon and cantaloupe on my almost 2 hour drive from Toluca Lake to La Palma. The acronyms you teach are the best! The one thing I was not prepared for was how wordy the questions and answers were. Soooo many unnecessary words to confuse and force the examinee to read everything. What a waste of time. But I kept my cool. So please mention this to other members. It is important to have a clear understanding of the listing process, appraisal process, lending process, mortgages, practices and principles and legalese. There were no math problems that required me to use the calculator that had been provided. The first 3 questions were completely random having nothing to do with anything I had read or heard or abput real estate. ..it threw me off and I started to panic. I even checked to make sure I was taking the correct exam... but then after those questions I began to see the light. I looked at the time and paced myself. I had 3 hour and 150 questions, so 50 questions per hour. Completely doable.👌 A question that threw me off was: "How many feet are in a mile." I had no idea but remembered my GPS informing me when I was 1,000 feet from an exit. I calculated and thankfully had it right! There were a few questions about the transfer disclosure statement. I completed the exam with 2 minutes left. I scrolled back to look at some questions I had noted and ended up changing one of the answers and then system shut me out.. The attendant handed me a stapled paper with the results and instructed me to not open it up to read results until after I was outside the building. I PASSED!!!!! Yessss!!!!! Thanks again! 😊👌

    Just passed second try😊
First try I just looked at 200 vocab and for a few hours and took exam. I got 67% 😒. Then after taking the exam I knew what I was missing and required to do. It was be better at vocab and do master exam questions.
    1. Read prep e book till you get most of the concepts on it.
    2. Scored 90% on vocab exam did like 200 questions 3 times and got 90-97%.
    3. Watch this video and 25 California questions. Also did master exam until I was confident. Don’t worry about bad score on master exam. I just did tons of master exam questions and just read answer and explanation. To be more safe do master exams few times and score 90% (imo overkill but hey everyone is different). That’s all I did and only studied like 4 days… but I suggest just study until you meet the above goals. Study more state base questions, while there are more federal I felt I was still not ready for them. Do a few practice sessions on state based questions after you are good with federal.
Lastly: WHEN DOING PRACTICE EXAMS FOR ANY TOPIC FOCUS ON CORRECT ANSWER AND EXPLANATION REMEMBER THE WORDING ON EXAM IS DIFFERENT FOR BASICALLY EVERY SINGLE QUESTION. No question is same… GL

Cali people. There was zero math on my test. Most of the questions were scenario based. If you know your definitions, fair housing laws and can have a basic real estate conversation, you will be fine. I think the test tricks you the more you try to analyze the scenario so try to relax.

I took the California exam this morning and passed it! I honestly thought I failed it because for one, I literally only studied Thursday night for like five hours on Friday/last night for about five hours, by watching the prep agent videos, becsuse although very informative, I will say that my test literally had about 5% of what was on these videos. My test particularly had a lot of questions about agent/broker duties regarding contracts and client relationships… it did ask about easement, zoning related questions as well as deeds, but a lot of it had to do with contracts including listing agreements and purchasing agreements… I think the reason I passed it was because I got my Texas real estate license back in 2000 and I did real estate for like 10 years so I think I just retained a lot of information which is why I was probably able to pass because I really don’t know how I did it because I feel like a lot of questions we’re not in his videos, there is a website link that has three practice exams for free which I didn’t know about till this morning but as I was studying it this morning I noticed a lot of those questions were on the test in terms of very similar so those are just my thoughts and my experience

Hey Joe, I passed the CA exam a few days ago, thank you for your help, now I can enjoy my thanksgiving holidays! Key to pass the exam: VOCABS! Study the vocabs, score at least 85% for the vocab test on the prepagent app before you get started on the practice/master exam. I did the practice exam for a least three times, 150 questions on each exam the day before I took the exam. IMO the questions on the actual exam are bit harder than the practice exam, but if you know your vocabs you should be okay, just read the questions a few times before you choose the answer. Remember you only need 70% to pass the CA exam, but I felt like I got at least 85%, too bad they did not give me the actual score. Good luck guys!
