Here comes Mr Big Daddy! The R9 of the ES-335 series! A lot of guitar for the money! A legendary instrument. A piece of history, a quite rare, a hard to find semi-hollow body 1959 Reissue Gibson ES-335.
The extra vintage looking hardware, finish and binding turn this beauty to a very elegant, exclusive instrument. It’s got the famous VOS treatment so the hardware doesn’t look shiny anymore. You know what, as I said in the video I have no idea how did they do it but the sound of this has some serious vintage character! I've recorded I don't know how many guitar videos today with top end guitars but this one is the best one by far. This guitar sounds the best acoustically as well. It produces a serious amount of overtones! Watch my video I try to demonstrate it!
It was made in 2022 in Nashville and every Gibson fans know it come swith amazing features that weren’t available before: hot hide glue neck joint, aniline dye, amazing quality ultra thin nitro finish, hand wound CustomBucker III (alnico 3 unpotted) pickuos etc…This comes with its certificate and the original hard case.
This has the most sought after neck shape: the famous 59 Gibson neck shape! It’s so easy to play…and it’s really really hard to find one of these on the second hand market.
Especially in this VERY VERY NEAR MINT condition! It’s got a few micro marks here and there but nothing serious (check the high res pictures and video). I'm extra picky, this guitar is in much better condition than any B-stock or ex-Display guitars in the big shops. No dings, dents or buckle rash, just micro playing marks.
Well, the sound is killer. Warm, jazzy and mellow! I don’t know how the hell did they design this at Gibson but it sounds ACE in almost every genres.
At this price it’s a great guitar for life for the player, investor (these are great investments with guaranteed serious value increase over the year) or collector!

can I ask, why I see some Custom shop 1959 ES-335 with white Gibson label on headstock, but some are orange, what's the differences? Thanks,
@@HuyVu-vq7ldI can tell you for sure why- the white label means the 335 was built in the Gibson USA production factory and the orange label is built in the Gibson Custom Shop.

Listened a lot to this. My 335 sounds similar. But it lacks this initial attack yours has, both acoustic and electric. It's either a bit more muffled on the initial pick, or I my fingers are!
Great, extensive, enthusiastic review. I am on the hunt for a ‘59 reissue either VOS Custom or Murphy Lab. My Custom 335 from 2009 is wonderful but, after having played some real vintage models, I am set on a ‘59 for all the reasons you’ve articulated. I’ll even trade my mint PRS Custom 24 Artist Package 20th Anniversary if I find the right ‘59. Your video only reinforces my resolve. Thank you.
So, I got a Murphy Lab ‘59 335 with light aging and it is, as you have demonstrated, absolutely fantastic. Even better than I had hoped. So resonant, so translucent…
Which one do you prefer ? 59 or 64 for jazz ?

ES335 is a fat sounding instrument in the neck. In the bridge it's mayhem. How can you not love this?
