This video is the latest instalment of Meet the Characters - with Vayetse and Ginny. Here I talk through some details current and historic. This should help new viewers and regular viewers alike. I really enjoy my time with these Lions ! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below and which part of the video you enjoyed most. Thank you so much for the ongoing support. Many people mention they find the content uplifting and it helps - if so, this one is for you.
Kevin, I always wondered, and I'd love if you could answer. This is hypothetical, if you were with all your Lions and Lionesses either from past or present, but one of them for some odd reason would attack you, do you think one maybe two or more would come and defend you/attack that lion/lioness? After all in a sense they see you part of their pack/group
Hi Kevin. I’ve been watching u and ur beautiful lions, leopards and hyenas since 2015 ish. I love what u do, I love how u care for the animals. Last year my mum was diagnosed with a severe form of dementia and I spend half my week caring for her to allow my dad a break. She is now like a child and can be quite aggressive towards me. But I started putting on lion whisperer tv and it actually calms her. She loves ur lions especially gabby. So id like to thank u on behalf of my mum as u r one of the few who make her smile. It’s made our days together a little easier. And i thank u for the wonderful work u do. Thank u. X
Kristy, I am a senior caregiver and I know what you’re going through. I have found that music can also help calm them down. Recently I put on a UA-cam compilation of babies laughing, then puppies and kittens for my client. She was smiling for quite awhile. I’m glad that your Mom likes Kevin and his pride of magnificent lions! That’s a big plus. Anyway, I’ll be praying for you and your family. God bless you❤️🙏🏼❤️
Vayetse has a beautiful mane, lovely and thick. Ginny is very laid back. I have a full body chronic high pain disability, watching the lions brings me great joy. Thank you.
At 10:16, I love how Ginny gently greeted/licked Vayetse 🥰 As for Mr. Big, he will always be my favorite, regardless of the grumpiness. He is such a special lion ❤️🦁❤️
Yes, exactly what wanted to say here❤ That gentle head-bump says it all. The relationship between Vayetse and his girls has been always the most consistent heartwarming and kindhearted, and respect for each other. That makes my heart warm and puts smiles on my face. I love this group even though we no longer have Libby, her spirit is always with them whenever we see them both. Vayetse is one of my favorites among them in your sanctuary because he is the calmest and gentlest lion among all of them. Vayetse the surfer dude ❤ grumpy or not, that’s the image of him forever in my heart ❤️ Thank you for sharing another wonderful time with these magnificent beings. Much Love 💕
2 years ago, I was doing my first volunteering/internship at a wildlife sanctuary in South Africa. On my 4th day there, we had a specialist big cat veterinarian come in to check on the big 13 year old male white lion for unexplained weight loss (and also for the 13 year old male siberian/bengal mix tiger, and his reduced eating+weight loss), the worry and frustration that arises from a situation involving an animal not feeling its best is almost unimaginable unless you've experienced it. It was an unfortunate situation for all involved, but I couldn't be more grateful that I got to be a part of it and have the opportunity to learn so much from a professional (assisting was limited, but I still feel so happy that I got to help with the process of moving them after they were anaesthetized, obserserving and learning from the vet and his assistant, and caring for the animals (from a distance) after they woke up! I've since returned to the sanctuary for a second, longer stay working as a volunteer/intern, and thankfully they are both doing much better now and have gained a some weight back! I'm about to graduate with my Bachelors degree and hopefully in a year and a half I'll be starting my Masters degree in wildlife biology, and I'm hoping I'll be approved to intern with the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia during my Masters! I'm currently doing whatever I can to be involved in wildlife conservation and rehabilitation here in Canada, but I really found my passion for African wildlife on my first trip, 2 years ago and I plan on going back many times!
Just want to chime in and say that for me too, the enrichment walks really are enriching and calming ❤ Vayetse, you gorgeous cat, you will always be a surfer boy, even if you are a bit grumpy in your later years 😎Love that affection between Ginny and Kev - really lovely moments there. And thanks for reminding us of dear Livy 😌Loved the moment where Ginny greets Vayetse with a lick - real affection there too! 🥰🦁🦁
She adores her daddy and the unconditional loving bond you have together is absolutely amazing , who wouldn’t want to have such a fantastic relationship with these beautiful little fluffy teddies 🦁🦁🦁🦁
Your videos make me feel good because you show an alternative way of life: nature, animal sensitivity, acceptance and respect. One of the things I like the best is that most of the time this lions keep in silence. ❤
Trapped in our concrete jungles, something deep within our genes make us yearn for nature. These enrichment walks are the best digital replacement that some of us can come by. Thank you, Kev and critters.
Hi Kevin, I just wanted to take a moment to express how grateful I am to be part of this community, especially after such a challenging couple of years. Discovering your UA-cam channel last year was such a delightful surprise! Your dedication to those beautiful animals has truly made a difference in my life and helped me navigate through tough times. The walks you share are not just enriching for the lions; they bring joy to us all too! Thank you so much for everything you do! Kate x
I think everyone is loving Vayetse so I do ! For me he is the Lion of the Lions , the King , such a beautiful cat !!! And Ginny , what can I say except : wonderful girl !!!
There's so much negativity in this world, and every time I watch one of your videos it reminds me of the positivity and love in this world. You do more than you can imagine for more of us than you could imagine.
Thank you for always putting a smile on my face. Watching my beloved country self destruct becauseof corrupt politics, and experiencing nationwide abject ignorance is challenging. So thankyou for the joy you bring.
@LionWhispererTV Thankyou so much! Beautiful Blessings to you all, especially Kev, whom I adore, and his magnificent Animal Ambassadors. ❤️ Especially Darling Meggie!! XOXOXO
The grumpy look he has on his face as Ginny approaches and she gives a little loving lick which completely disarms him 10:11 These animals feel so deeply, what a beautiful moment
Love seeing Vayetse and Ginny! I'm a little surprised that Vayetse has gotten grumpy with age. He was always so chill! Ginny calming down with age seems normal to me. It's nice that your relationship with her has been able to improve so much. Of course Livy is greatly missed along with her hijinks. Mischievous Missy. My knowledge and joy have grown a lot over the years of watching Kevin with all the animals. I'm so grateful for the time I spend watching all the Lion Whisperer videos. It makes my heart happy.💖🦁
Today's video was a very welcome distraction. I appreciate it so very much Kevin. It was beautiful spending time with you and your magnificent lion and lioness Love this series so much. ❤❤❤
Smiling becomes second nature as we go on the enrichment walks with you and your four-legged family Kev. Seeing you with them has become a large part of our lives and you have the comments to prove it. Hearing the banter you have with Vayetse, Ginny and the others at the Sanctuary is priceless and the unconditional love is undeniable. I love the way Vayetse comes to greet you when you first enter the enclosure and the way Ginny sits with you in the shade and gives you a head bump as you blow on her. the simple things in life are often the best. Keep the videos coming Kev. Love and blessings.
Watching the lions always puts a huge smile on my face! :) It is very therapeutic to watch them, as you mentioned Kevin! Love walking with Vayetse and Ginny so much. So sweet when Ginny licked Vayetse on the face. I get such a peaceful & happy feeling watching! I love the shirt you are wearing and ordered one too! 🥰
Hi Kevin , I am dealing with alot right now including another cancer scare (I do not have another cancer tests came back yesterday )and I have cancer presently . I and how much it helps me cope with also have other health issues and a bi-polar grown son . I am one of those people who greatly benifit from your wonderful videos. I just want to thank you once again for all the good that comes from all of you . Please give your furry crew a kiss or a scratch or a snuggle from me :)
you're so right Kev, your shows are my ZEN time. I absolutely smile, and feel better after every video. I've been watching you for so long, I don't remember when I started. I love all the animals so much, and have never met a single one. THANK YOU for all these years of WONDERFUL shows! I've always wanted to contribute, but I'm too poor....but that doesn't stop me from reposting and telling all kinds of people to watch you. Maybe you could do a special video for those of us too poor to help... because we still help, even if its just word of mouth... Love you all so much and LOVE what you're doing. Peace and love Kev, to you and all your kids. :)
Yes Kevin you are absolutely correct: your enrichment walks are just about as therapeutic for me, us, as for you and your "family"! Thank you for dedicating your life to these magnificent kitties!
I think that was the first time I learned about Kevin's work was in the documentary that covered the story of Vayete and his brother dying from the snake bite. And Vayete hiding behind Kevin when he tried to introduce the girls.😂 aww how far they have come. What a joy to see them enjoying life.❤
Love you, Kevin! You are one of my few hero's in this chaotic world. Thank you! Thank You! Thank You!!! (72 y/o retired USA physician who would like to visit your compound if my health holds out).
So glad Vayetze is better. ❤ Love the updated meet the characters. I don’t think he’s a grump . 😍 And sweet Ginny. Do find the changes were after losing Livy? Curious about that. Also I agree the enrichment walks and them loving jumping on you bring so much happiness to me. ❤❤❤
Kevin you have No Idea what a Blessing you and God's animals are to the thousands of us fortunate enough to live vicariously through you on The Lion Whisperer TV!!! God Bless ALL of you! 🙏🙏🙏😇
I am always going back to watch the old videos. I love the relationship you have with your lions. You are so lucky that everything worked out for you to build your sanctuary, and move them all to this wonderful place. You have matured along with your lions, mans it has been beautiful to see. I talk about your sanctuary all the time to other people. My family just laughs at me and say, “there goes mom and her fascination with lions.” After watching your lions for awhile I started watching all kinds of UA-cam safari channels where they go on a drive a couple of times a day and see what wildlife they can find. Naturally my favorites are the lions, and also the elephants. They have a unique social structure, and are constantly looking out for one another.
I can’t believe how long I’ve been watching Kevin’s channel. It started with Kevin’s book and then a video. Then after I retired I found UA-cam and it’s been looking forward to Kevin’s videos. I love wildlife videos. They are therapeutic for me. The only downside is these beautiful lions eventually pass away. Thanks so much to Kevin, and god bless him and his 4 legged friends.
Brilliant vid Kevin, so good and emotional to see Lions that have passed and bring back such good feelings seeing them. You are only 50, that's nothing, still decades left in you yet. Just have a sit down and tell the younger Sanctuary workers to do the hard work and you just concentrate on walking with the animals. Thank You to everyone at the Sanctuary for looking after all the animals. ❤
I'm pretty sure I remember in one of your documentaries back in 2012 that Meg (and the late great Amy) is a lion that you trust with your life. You even said that you could happily fall asleep in their enclosure and you'd be perfectly safe.
I find your walk videos therapeutic also. In addition since I can’t afford big travel your posts expand my life and my consciousness. I caught me domestic cat Tilly rolling in poop and it is so sweet to see that behavior in a couch kitty years removed from the wild but still marking.
It's incredible that you get so close to these beautiful big cats, but to actually see you cuddle them is mind blowing and there's an obvious emotional attachment. You're a lucky man.
I've been trying to compile a list of all the Lion's, Leopard's, Hyena and other animals that have been in Kevin's care from documentaries like Dangerous Companions, Lion's on the move, Living with Lion's, Bondi vet, Lion Whisperer TV etc. So far I am at 47 lion's, 4 Leopard's, 24 Hyena and 1 Giraffe- Gambit. It has certainly been a life of commitment to them all by Kevin and his staff and we thank you for it and we have been privileged to have been a small part of it.
@mary-anneswanson1428 I loved the 8 cheetahs I watch 3 of the cubs that were rehomed at amacahala game reserve and last time I watched them they were doing well I don't know where the other 5 went if anybody knows I would love to hear about them
Great walk. Yes, Kevin, we walk with you and the lions and enjoy every second of it. It definitely enriches my day. A tear came to my eye when you were speaking of Livy💙...she is gone but will never be forgotten. I honestly thought you would have said that it was Vayetse that you trusted with your life, but Ginny seems like a great choice too! Mr Big is as handsome as ever..love that big boy❤
Always a must for me on a Friday to watch the latest video. Not only are the Lions incredible but your description and informative nature of the videos is fantastic. Thank you Kevin ❤️
I absolutely love watching your videos-they ARE enrichment for my heart and soul in stressful times. Thank you Kev, Jenni, Vayetsi, and the rest of the beautiful crew!
Yes Kevin, I too, love the enrichment walks with all the lions. They are definitely characters, each with their own personalities. TY…and of course the lions🦁🦁 💕
At some point on a Friday, I remember Friday=Lionday and I smile in anticipation. It never disappoints. It always lifts my heart. As you say, it enriches my soul and my human. Always grateful not only for your relationship with the lions and all the creatures in your care, Kev but that you share it with us. What a wonderful ripple of heartful loveliness this is. Thank you 😁❤️🦁
Maybe you are right, "therapeutic" might be the right word for what we see of you interacting with these big cats - or the reverse, them interacting with you ! It is clear, anyway, that seeing your video-clips is more than relaxing, it is a pleasure ! But it also generates envy !! How lucky you are to have such personnal links with huge lions !!
Mr. Richardson, I tip my glass to you! I have watched your vids plus I have been fascinated with Lions since my early childhood. I'm 58 now so it's been many moons ago. I always watch any program or National geographic programs that talk about all the big cats family, such majestic animals.I appreciate you having this sanctuary for these big Cats. I would love to be able to walk side by side with a lion, such an incredible dream.
Love seeing Vayeste and Ginny they are gorgeous!!!! Miss seeing Livvy so much loved how playful she was. Always love watching your videos over the years and it still amazes me how close you are with these amazing lions and I enjoy seeing their personalities. It was so sweet when Vayeste and Ginny went up to each other in the video you can see the love they have for one another ❤❤❤❤
i am very jealous of what you do.....not only do you get to give them an amazing and safe forever home but you get to bond with them on a level that very very few people get to experience....i have been watching you from years and love seeing your relationship with the diff animals you have there..
Love these walks. How many people can say the were out walking their lions! I hope Big V's grumpiness is just old age & not something else. I've become a bit of a "cranky" old lady of late LOL. Sweet Ginny misses Livy too & I think she is always with you when you are with her pride mates 🥰
You can see how a person could totally miss a lion stalking them….Vayetse blends in so much with his golden mane…They’re both beautiful. I remember Vatetse’s brother 😢. It was so sad and heartbreaking bc he was so young. I remember when they were being observed for a documentary…Vayetse Ginny and Livy had a series of enrichment puzzles they had to figure out to get to the goodies within. The guest observing was sitting a healthy distance away in a canvas covered truck with no glass windshield between her and the pride. Vayetse got super curious of her and stood on his hind legs to look into the back of the truck 😂😂. All of a sudden you hear a soft voice calling out for Kevin to help! As much as I love these beauties I’m just not sure I’m brave enough to handle piquing the interest of Vayetse lol
Vayetse still has a beautiful mane. He and Bobcat are my "mane men" - Bobcat being number 1. Vayetse wins as far as names go. I've been in love with his name - and the name Pelokhale - ever since first hearing them, so many years ago. I've forgotten what they mean though.
I am two weeks away from back surgery. I have had other surgery and treatments over the last several years to no avail. These gorgeous lions make me forget my troubles and my great pain. Thank you and them. Yes, these are therapeutic in many ways.
Incredible the interaction he has with these magnificent animals...I went to a private game reserve and got within 5 feet of a big male lion and was terrified...but knew I had to muster up the courage to look him in his eyes as I may never experience it again. These vids are just amazing
Love watching your walks with all of these lions. It’s just so exciting. Years ago when I was real young, I got to pet a mountain lion, and I was so thrilled over that I couldn’t believe it. it was just kind of sitting there purring and I was reaching through the fence petting it as the the keeper told me how and that was magnificent!! I would love to be able to pet a lion. Thanks for sharing. God Bless You and Yours.

Can’t blame good ‘ol Vayetse for being grumpier with age. Aren’t we all? 😂

Awww Vayestse is just a grumpy old man but hasn't lost his class.
Ginny is naughty but a sweetheart ❤️
How fast time flies! I remember Vayestse as a very young playful lion! Well, none of us is getting younger, I guess :((
Maybe a Harrison Ford kind of grumpy old man. He's still got it! 😊

So unique. Each displays their elements of aging. You have supplied them with continuity of respect. It makes all the difference. Thank you.
I often watch these kinds of videos, when I want to restore my faith in humanity. It gives me so much hope, when I see people treating animals well.
Love the enriching walks. And the trust you have is incredible
If anyone's interested, one of the early documentaries Kevin did had Vayetse, Livy, and Ginny as cubs. Vayetse was a very sensitive, shy boy. 😊
And yes, it is very soothing to watch you and your lions. It is something very special to watch the unique bonds between the lions and you.
Vayetse and Jinny as the rest of the lions are super cats!!! Love all the kids Kevin, your animal Kingdom is awesome!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
"Let you know about it!!!" LOL - Love you all. Always great and inspirering to see you and the lions together!
I find your walk videos therapeutic also. In addition since I can’t afford big travel your posts expand my life and my consciousness. I caught me domestic cat Tilly rolling in poop and it is so sweet to see that behavior in a couch kitty years removed from the wild but still marking.
I love ❤️ seeing 👀😍💕 these Gorgeous 😍💖 Lions 🦁❤️😍💙💕♥️🦁!! 😊❤😊
It's incredible that you get so close to these beautiful big cats, but to actually see you cuddle them is mind blowing and there's an obvious emotional attachment. You're a lucky man.
Yes, that is true. You are walking the lions, and I am happy to watch.
Dont forget 8 rewilded cheetah cubs :)
@mary-anneswanson1428 I loved the 8 cheetahs I watch 3 of the cubs that were rehomed at amacahala game reserve and last time I watched them they were doing well I don't know where the other 5 went if anybody knows I would love to hear about them
Beautiful Vyetse and Ginny ..have a soft spot for Ginny. 💖🧡💛
I'm starting to get grumpy too in my approaching middle age so we have the same growing pains Vayetse! He is still a sweetheart at heart ❤️
What a blessing they are to watch walking free.you are so gifted in what you see in your lions.takes a very special human and of course lions
I remember that, so sad. He cried day and night 😭 Now he looks wonderful and happy ❤🦁🐾
I am going to meet these beautiful characters when I visit.
Oh that's really cool to see a termite mound dug out into a burrow, I didn't know animals would do that to a termite mound.
Lizards do it anteaters to
These beautiful Friday's videos always makes my day. Even more today on my birthday. Thank you Kevin! ❤🦁🐾🐾
Yay ! Happy Birthday Patricia, have a great celebration !
@LionWhispererTV Thank you very much! Just made my day even better! Much love! ❤️🐾🐾
I would say the walks show a mutual trust. Their trust in you is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. They treat you as Pride.
They are beautiful 😍 sir hats off to u 😊 love from India 🇮🇳
Vayetse is my favorite and always will be. He has a charismatic way about him, and he flaunts it. Lol ! Thanks for sharing, Kevin. 🙂♥️🦁
Thank you 😁❤️🦁
Thanks Denise - so great to read this.
Kev your vids are beautiful. Makes me feel homesick when I hear you speak and see the bush. Of course your fur babies are magnificent.💜
🙏🙏🙏 for the Lions and you too
It was so sweet when Vayeste and Ginny went up to each other in the video you can see the love they have for one another ❤❤❤❤
Thanks!
Thank you
i am very jealous of what you do.....not only do you get to give them an amazing and safe forever home but you get to bond with them on a level that very very few people get to experience....i have been watching you from years and love seeing your relationship with the diff animals you have there..
What an incredibly history of this group....thank you, Kevin, these enrichment walks are amazing.
You’re so in tune with your animals. It’s beautiful ❤
My family and I love watching the lions and we appreciate you and everything you and your team do for them!
They are so very precious. So happy for them to live long amd well like this
Vayetse still has a beautiful mane. He and Bobcat are my "mane men" - Bobcat being number 1. Vayetse wins as far as names go. I've been in love with his name - and the name Pelokhale - ever since first hearing them, so many years ago. I've forgotten what they mean though.
Yes its lovely to see them walking free and trying to catch warthog’s really nice to see them giving you a love too !
Thank you Kevin, your team, and your family for all you do for these magnificent beings♥️✨💫 You give me hope♥️✨💫
Your videos help to take us into another world.
Thank you Kevin for being you and providing so much for these beautiful animals ❤️ ♥️
A lovely way to start my Friday!!! Thank you for sharing these beautiful cats!❤❤❤ Never ever get tired of watching your videos.
