    The thing about Season 2 that no one likes to acknowledge or admit is that Marcel was bullied. Yeah he was self important that season, and his arrogance caused him to be an ass, but everyone seemed to gang up on him from the start. Everyone was constantly plotting and conspiring against him.

    • @jeffross3504
      @jeffross3504 4 роки тому +18

      Yep, he totally was ganged up on. That was why Cliff thought he could get away with his stunt. A lot of the other chefs all kind of egged him on. Sam should have been tossed, too.

      I just finished watching season 2 and i am disgusted at two things. 1. how the treated Marcel and 2. the Mia and Cliff situation.
      Marcel was the easiest guy to hate on because he was disliked by all and i felt that some people didnt even dislike him because of their personal experience with him but moreso because they didnt want to become unpopular. A lot of the things Marcel did, like be cocky, was no different or not worse to how Cliff acted most of the time or many other contestants who constantly felt that they knew better. Also Marcel, based on what I say, was not a person who would always intentionally try to hurt someone and many of his comments or actions that offended people were minor yet they acted up because they knew they would get the support from other contestants. Peoples issue with Marcel wasnt what he did or how spoke but his social akwardness that made him come off as weird to those idiots!

      I absolutely think he should've won the competition because he had more knowledge, creativity, finesse and RESILIENCE than all the other contestant combined. I mean, he managed to get through verbal abuse, physical abuse and the fact that he couldn't count on anyone for help, when every other contestant always had someone to back them up in service and at the judges table. I believe the only reason he didn't win is because the producers thought it wouldn't be a desired ending for the public, because they assumed everyone hated him, which is untrue. Ilan was a big asshole, always offending Marcel with stupid comments and he was a very mediocre chef that didn't deserve to win. Elia was so fake towards Marcel and it made me sad that she turned on him when he thought she was the only person he could count on. Sam tried to do everything seem nice and ended up on the fence not to look bad to the other contestants or the public. Betty was the one that by far annoyed me the most, she pretended to be so nice but she was the biggest bitch and the one to start the whole bullying thing. I'm so glad Marcel has a beautiful wife, a baby on the way and successful businesses/projects. He was competitive and overly confident at times, but it is a competition and actually, some contestants were more arrogant than him but were completely forgiven by the others because they really just decided to hate on Marcel because he was the most talented, intimidating and yes, socially awkward.

      What I never understood was why those chefs, that attacked Marcel, think they were any better. They’re all arrogant. The only difference between them and Marcel, was they formed a “cool kid” alliance. In my opinion, everyone involved in that incident should have been eliminated.

      @@kerrihennebury7616 They think they are better because they got to get away with their shitty behaviour just because their personality suited those of the other chefs. Marcel wasnt a mean person he was just very socially akward but he never intentionally hurt anyone. Plus there were manyyy cocky chefs in that competition yet Marcel was the one they attacked because it was popular to do so. And i agree when it came to the cliff situation Cliffs actions were one thing but seeing Sam just sit there and watch, not even trying to get involved. i got scared watching that because that could have gone wrong real quickly. I would also like to mention how Sam was cleary more sober! What was stopping him from telling drunk Cliff to get the f off.

    How is rehashing old new tidbits from TopChef mostly while TopChef was still airing that season when these tidbits were presented the "truth" in any way shape or form? The video starts off trying to be a "Let's spill the tea" but slowly fizzles into repeating things already reported many times before from various sources. If you were going for an effect like "Let's spill the tea," there has to be new, controversial things to present. The only praise I'll give is the one about the contestant with the book and movie deal. That's an A plus. Let's have more A+ content spread throughout next time.

      The whole psych evaluations isn’t that shocking, as that seems to be typical on reality shows for various reason, ranging from legitimate safety to personality exploitation/matching (though that tends to be more prevalent of more drama-fueled reality shows and comps, and Top chef is far from the most drama-inducing reality comp.)

    In the case of the hazing/ hair cutting incident after the Black contestant was disqualified, Tom Colicchio went on to say the following.
    "I DIDN'T LIKE HIM HE WASN'T GOING TO WIN ANYWAY"
    That sounds like racism to me.
