  • Rocky Mountain Construction - RMC to coaster fans - have been the hottest coaster manufacturer over the last decade. They're the first new company since the 90's to make such a quick and powerful impact on the industry. Their story of success is inspiring, and their ability to stick around is admirable. So what is it that makes them so special?
In this episode of Sightlines, we explore RMC's history, their projects, and what innovations they brought to the roller coaster industry. In the process, we take some lessons from them in how to thrive in tough times, how to build on your initial successes, and how to turn old ideas into new solutions.

    A couple quick notes:
At 14:53, we show a wooden coaster to illustrate a “rough” coaster track. The topic we’re discussing, about track wear creating roughness, is still true for these types of coasters. The method of track wear, however, is different from the process that makes tubular steel track rough that was described right before this clip. We wanted to add this note to make sure there wasn’t any confusion.
At 21:08, it’s mentioned that both of RMC’s 2023 coasters should be open by the time this video goes up. Because of a shift in our video production schedule, this was *almost* true. This video came out a little earlier than planned, *exactly* two weeks before Wildcat’s Revenge, the second of these coasters, will open.
We hope you enjoyed this video, and if you aren’t already, we hope you’ll subscribe to the channel.

It is so cool to see RMC utilizing some of the wooden coasters in their projects because you’re right in that they have a sound and feel about them that draws you to them. Sounds like this company is on point with their ideas. You spoke very highly of RMC. They should listen to your show and hire you as a spokesperson 😊

I think Joe Draves was a good replacement for Schilke because you lose one nutcase and bring in a crazier person (in a good way). most of us have seen arieforce and that is absolutely insane so I think the future is very bright for the company

Agree 100% that Draves is a good match for the company. His designs feel like a worthy successor to Schilke’s.

Every other video plays just fine, but 1 hour in with all the buffering on this one, (for the third try) im just accepting it as unwatchable. Literally only 8 mins. In after an hour.
