If you guys return to GDL, you guys NEED to go to Los Chilaquiles on Lazaro Cardenas. Traditional and fancy Mexican breakfast and a lot of celebrities have been there. They even have a wall of the pictures of said celebrities. Enjoy!
You guys would never loose me as a subscriber. I want to know the good, the bad and everything in between, about all the places you visit. Your honest opinions and observations are very much appreciated. You are a sweet young couple with beautiful personalities, plus, I love your fur child, Laska, who is now looking happy and very much loved by her human parents. I look forward to your future videos. Stay safe and God bless.
Word em up friend! I was gonna say the same shit . Additionally, I'm in my 40s, live in Mass, electrician, I think and watch your videos daily because I want to know what it's like , the good, the bad , the ugly , all of it to make a serious decision to leave everything behind to go to somewhere a little bit nicer and better , with more freedom. So your honesty is appreciated! Me
They say you appeal to the young crowd. Maybe so, but this 77 year old, likes your vids. Keep them coming.will be in Ajijic late dec till mid Jan. Hope you two are still there.
Great information from you two! I've been binge watching since I discovered your videos. I'm 64 and am seriously considering retiring in Mexico from the US. After watching your content on Ajijic, this location is quickly moving up to the top of my list. I lived in San Miguel de Allende for about 3 months - more than 15 years ago.
I love you guys for always being so honest and respect you for it! Everyone has their own opinion which is totally understandable but some comments are so mean . If you you can’t be nice, be quiet! Even if you disagree you can leave your opinion in an educated manner. No need for insults people!
I'm a 64 year old woman who also loves your videos. I have learned so much from them and will be coming to Ajijic next year knowing so much more than before I watched them! Thank you so much!
We really appreciate how you tell both sides of the story (unlike most other UA-camrs who try to make everything look perfect). Your honesty is much appreciated.
Nice job you guys are doing telling what you see about Mexico, good bad or just an opinion, I was born and race in Guadalajara and let me tell you guys great job... I’m a fan Tangerine travels. Saludos cordiales.
Love your videos about my hometown, Chapala, now that I'm stuck on Saba Island in the Dutch Caribbean at my vacation home for the duration of the pandemic until we get vaccinated and I can return for this summer...I hope. Couldn't go back for last summer/fall as I would normally do. Enjoyed seeing all my familiar places, my malecón, my Walmart, my restaurants, the LCS where I help teach line dancing (I'm 72 and most of the class memberts are older than I am,) and my neighborhood just 1/2 block from the Casita del Molcajete where you ate once. You likely noticed that there is little to no graffiti in Ajijic and Chapala. There are four of us, two in each municipality, who go out once a week and clean it up. Many citizens come up to us and thank us for our volunteerism and even give us money for supplies. We are supported by the Ajijic Garden Club for purchasing materials. We've been doing this since 2011 and once the towns were totally cleaned up, there has been a lot less new tagging. Of course murals aren't considered graffiti. Your videos have given me the urge to visit more parts of my adopted country. I used Spencer to upgrade my RT to a RP in 2013 when they had just first changed the rules and it took 6 months, now about 2-3 weeks. Isn't he the best? You are both good examples for North Americans coming to live in Mexico with the effort you've put into speaking Spanish showing the naysayers that it indeed can be done. You've developed good accents and you can say "rr" too! I've lived outside the US for 11 years now, also from Phoenix where I was a family doc for CIGNA most of my career, but have no reason or intention to return. I suspect you'll find a way to spend most of the rest of your lives headquartered somewhere in this beautiful country among its wonderful people. Keep on posting, I look forward to each new vid!
If people dont like honesty then idk what. I dont want to be told a fairy tale and end up going to a place and then it no be what I expected. Yall keep doing what yall are doing. Dont listen to the negative comments. Show us the good and bad. In my home town in mexico to me it beautiful, but theirs also bad things about it. But that is anywhere. Here in phoenix its the same. We have our good things and bad things about it. Summer suck but drive to sedona and summer is awesome. Anyone who moves anywhere should want to know as much as they can. And yall are doing a great service. Keep it up!!!!
I appreciate you guys tell both sides to different cities, my wife is in a wheelchair due to MS We are currently in Mexico City and we’re heading down there in a couple weeks. Not knowing about the cobble stone streets and rough sidewalks it would have not worked well for us. Thanks for all you guys do!! Now looking for a city better equipped for our situation.
You might want to check out the city of Chapala. It is easier to get around in because the downtown area is flat. The malecon is beautiful and there are a lot of restaurants.
We want to know the real story about the places you visit - not some glossy, fake description. We want to know the best, but also what to avoid. Thanks for the honesty.
*LAWD HAVE MERCY 😍😍😍 I'm astounded from your Spanish improvement and complete happiness that are visible from the sparkle in your guy's eyes! I'm literally SHOOK, TiNgLiNg & Q U A K I N G over here! Keep up the improvement and keep spreading the love about Mexico! I'm still upset about Reddit having different agendas, I'm sure your articles were amazing and full of detail! People now a days prefer comforting lies than harsh truths. 🙄 Anyways great video as always, it will be an honor to meet you two one day! I'm in Pachuca, Hidalgo at the moment, but I never lose hope haha*
Awwww beautiful LASKA 💜💜😭😭💜💜 i missed her! And I’m glad you guys pinned the playlist of all the videos you guys made since the beginning because that’s how I watched all your videos LOL
Very good guys, I’m with you always support local venders and markets, I don’t go to Walmart unless I absolutely have too, I’ve seen many mom an pops businesses go down across the country here in the USA when Walmart shows up. I’ve traveled across the country and have seen it first hand. I’m also totally with you on giving money to people that earn it and are working for it, not the beggars that just come up to you for money. One more thing somethings that we sometimes think as bad things coming from the USA might just be different and we can’t come on as arrogant people thinking/acting like we are better.. not saying this is the case at all with you guys but somethings are just different in Mexico. Not saying México is perfect cuz it’s not and there’s stuff I don’t like either. Regardless good job on your videos, keep up the good work
Good videos guys! We are in our 40's working online and checking out Lake Chapala for the 2nd time. We now want to see if Guadalajara might be a good place for us to live for a couple years (we are finding the lake towns are too small for us). Do you have any recommendations for (in Guadalajara) nice walkable areas/neighborhoods with good restaurant and bars, not a flood area (WTH), great (high speed, unlike around the lake...) internet, social areas w/ things to do, and people generally in a mid 20's to mid 50s crowd? Suggestions are welcome, we are here for 5 more weeks to check things out!
As a northern mexican living in Jalisco, and tangerine fan, it's nice to hear the truth from time to time. Hope Laska is doing well. Never stop making videos
I love the fact that you guys are doing great. People would come out as mean most of the time but i know you are taking it as water off a duck's back. You guys are awesome and i love your honesty.
Please keep doing what you're doing! I appreciate your balanced and informative approach and your appreciation of the local culture. About the "Car Wahs", there is a great little taco place there you should check out .
I am from Puebla city (now I live in Canada), what I remember about the Puebla’s Centro was, in every single street everything that I was selling in that street was the same product, the street of photography where you can find all about it or the street of musical instruments or the street of school needs, and literally, you just find the school uniforms there and that street was exclusive for that type of products, I don't know if they still do the same, but the empanadas remained me a lot of Puebla’s Centro.
as a newcomer to Ajijic should drive there from Florida or should I fly there? I dont have any targetet place of stay and thinking that a car will help me to drive around looking for a place to rent .Thanks
I see you were there in September just 4 months ago. Our only destination so far has been Puerto Villarta about 8-10 years ago and said I really had seen all of Mexico. Thanks for your perspectives and lives in Mexico on the only side and the enormous country to see. You are both great ..
The mosquito-like bugs are called midges in English and they commonly swarm near water or marshy areas where they breed. They're all over my home on the shore of Lake Erie.
"Understood" is "entendido", not "intendido". You would probably be understood (hah!) anyway, but "intendido" could be misinterpreted as "intentado", which means "attempted". Vowels are often more critical to comprehension in Spanish than in English.
I'm of the same mind as you guys, shop first with the li'l guy, then if what you want isn't available with him, then go to Walmart. Glad to see Laska, as lively and playful as ever! :)
Hey guys how long will you be staying in Ajijic? I arrive in Chapala 9/14 would enjoy grabbing a drink or something to eat. I have been to Lake Chapala numerous times and may be able to show you a couple of hole in the wall places.
Too bad for the people in Guadalajara that you lost. Sometimes the truth hurts! We prefer honesty.Keep up the great work. We are glad Laska is doing better, poor baby fur child. Please continue to make honest videos, you will have more people that respect you, and will stay with you forever. You will not loose us!
Keep it real ! I hate those everything is horrible or don't dare say anything negative videos. You guys seem very fair and love the videos. No place is perfect. Keep up the good work.
It was just awful food and bad service. We don’t want them to get more business but we also don’t want places retaliating against us while we still live there for giving them bad press
I'm enjoying your Lake Chapala vids. I'm glad you decided to stick around and get a real feel for the place instead of the typical one or two day "hit and run" coverage that most vloggers put out. If someone told you that you have to stay there for a year, how would you feel? Is there enough variety nearby, or would you get bored?
Thank you for your honest reviews. I'm from GDL and personally, I thought you were kind on the city. Don't me wrong I love it there, but I also don't put on blinders. My main issues are: 1. Traffic. Ay güey...So much of it 🤯 2. The smog near the city center 3. The noise 4. How long it takes to get to a destination that really isn't that far away. I'm really enjoying your channel so please keep up the good work.
Uggh! I just paid $240. cdn. for a cleaning & de-scaling & that is after paying $114. for X rays to see if I needed any fillings or extra work done. We are considering Lake Chapala area as soon as the travel restrictions make it a little easier to leave & return to Canada.
I'm Mexican, and while what you say could be true for a few businesses, that's not the rule for each one of them. If I requiere to go to a Barbería (Barber Shop) I would hesitate to go to that place if it's written like "Vartverraía", etc.
I don´t know that kind of insects but I think sometimes down there are called "bobos" ( traslated as silly bugs), here in Sonora sometimes in rain seasson we have this kind of anoying swarming bugs but the ones we have here are teeny tiny bugs, as small as a head of a pin, we call them "bobitos" (teeny tiny silly bugs)
Good day guys, I just want to say thanks for been so nice when you talk about my city ( Guadalajara). I work for an american company and all my gringos coworkers área afraid of México. I will going ti recomend them your channel so one day they come here and felt in love of it as you guys did.
From Medellin Colombia scooters are awesome!!!! Also I would kill for a Walmart in this huge City! What is weather like there? Wanted to see lake and if there was fishing or if you could have pontoon boat on it too? :)
Just subscribed because i want to hear the truth about Mexico ,so many of the utuber s sugar coat everything ,you guys tell it like it is ,keep up the great work
Thanks John! We do it for everyone who appreciates the honesty. Plus, if we were always walking on eggshells to keep everyone else happy, we wouldn’t be happy and it’d show through in our videos
ha! you saw hundred of empanadas in Tlaquepaque because it was Semana Santa. You didn't visited other churches but around every church in the city there is somebody selling them in that week.
We're in San Felipe, Baja. Wish we could afford to move to the mainland. Would love a cooler climate with more fresh food variety. Came here from Western Washington--trees and rain. Here, it's all hot, dry, desert.
it's on the gulf coast of a peninsula, separated from mainland Mexico by the San Andreas fault and the Gulfo de California (aka Sea of Cortez--a tourist board name I detest.)
Rainy season here right now in Ajijic, so so every single inch of the area is green. Later in the dry season the mountains and hills will brown-out as the trees and shrubs drop all of their leaves. I came from western Oregon where it's so green, I've seen moss cover houses and parked cars.
I encounter items that aren't priced all the time at Wal-Mart. As much as it bugs me, I can totally understand. With hundreds of prices changing daily, it's hard to catch all of them.
I love that you guys are "keepin' it REAL" for your dedicated viewers. This Nana will be visiting for a recon data between mid-Jan through mid-Feb. Hope you'll let me treat you to a meal if your still there. Are the scooters electric or gas operated?
Matti, you stated food allergies were better. What percentage of organic food do you eat? We were planning to come for my Wyatt to heal, after heart surgery. Then I heard that Monsanto had polluted the water with glyphosates or Roundup. Is the organic market a large percentage more than regular produce? Appreciate both of you! Joy
Unfortunately we can't answer this with any specifics. We don't make a point of asking about or checking into organic foods. Since being in Mexico, I rarely have issues with food anymore, unlike in the US. While in the US, pretty much ANY food I put into my mouth caused a terrible reaction of one kind or another. We've heard rumors of Monsanto (or Dole?) adding pesticides or some chemicals to the berries grown on the south side of the lake, but that's ONLY rumors. We don't have any science-based information on that. As for the farmer's market on Tuesday, it's a small percentage of the available produce around town. Hope this helps!
It would be helpful to add what. Season you’re in to get an ideal of the weather. Also would love to know if any hairstylist who works on blondes in Ajijic - color specifically. Thank you.
You guys might want to think about leaving out the word ‘negative’ in your commentaries. It’s loaded with bad connotations. Perhaps you can talk about the aspects of Mexico which are different from the United States and Canada. No need to use words that imply a judgment. This is just coming from an old marketing guru.
Exactly a lot of things are different but this does not mean they’re negative thing to other people or Mexicans, some things are just bad be it here in the USA, Canada or Mexico but a lot of things run different in Mexico, México has its imperfections no doubt about that but so does every other place on earth. Nothing wrong with showing or saying the less pretty things it’s part of the equation but saying some of these things that are different are bad is just plain wrong cus that’s just stating your opinions.. regardless your videos are great
That advise could be very usefull before the use of "ugly" on that title. I´m following TT for very long now and i felt as well upset when i read the tittle before watching the video, but TT must realize about how bad is the bulling we get from people in the states, their goberment and president, and if it wasn´t eneoght we get TT using "ugly" when "ugly" is what we got from our neighbors. They can be super objective with out using words that can feel insulting, i felt that way as well as lot of us, that felt it like a betrayal from them when they even got a recognition from a famous local news paper in regards the job they were doing to promote our city, what a way to trought everything great the´ve done before to garbage, and i´m not saying they were ment in the comments they left on that video, because that was not the case at all, that´s the reason that it boders me more, because they affected their channel and perception lots had in regards them just to catch lot of viewers. Keep in mind guys that the insults that some of your viewers tell you, are anything compared to the humilliation, offenses and bullying we got from your country, and even though that feels horribly insulting, even tho, we welcome you and support you, thats the reason you lost suscribers.
It was a bummer to learn of that one place you dined at that over charged you both. No doubt they do exist unfortunately, not only in Ajijic either... Stay safe and thank you much for sharing :)
Was in Ajijic in April of ‘18’. Don’t know how I missed not finding Pilar’s but next time I’m there (maybe this fall) they will definitely be on my hit list😄. Tnx for the hot tip👍👍
YOU BOTH ARE GREAT! I LOVE YOUR HONESTY AND DO NOT WORRY ABOUT LOSING SOME SUBSCRIBERS...THERE WILL BE MORE COMING UP AHEAD....I LOVE YOUR DOG TOO! LASKA RULES!! :-) GOD BLESS YOU ALL! I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!
Who needs Netflix? Tangerine Is The New Black. Binge watch our story from the beginning! goo.gl/DkBwuX

We really wish more people took your advice. Thanks for always leaving such nice comments :)
Yes, opinion in "educated manner" 👍🏼
I'm a 64 year old woman who also loves your videos. I have learned so much from them and will be coming to Ajijic next year knowing so much more than before I watched them! Thank you so much!
We really appreciate how you tell both sides of the story (unlike most other UA-camrs who try to make everything look perfect). Your honesty is much appreciated.
Thanks David! We're happy to hear you appreciate our perspective! What's life with rose colored glasses anyway? ;)
“Aguas” is also used to tell some one to be careful or watch out.
me and thousands of people like me appreciate the facts! Thank you
Nice job you guys are doing telling what you see about Mexico, good bad or just an opinion, I was born and race in Guadalajara and let me tell you guys great job... I’m a fan Tangerine travels.

Keep telling it how you see it. It your experience, your point of view, and we want the positives and negatives.

queretaro is flat and has good size sidewalks. its cheap and close to wine country while a big city its a lot more mellow than a mexico city
Could you please share the information of that specific house you stayed in Ajijic? like the aribnb link or something? thank you!
I am in Ajijic now because of you guys! You covered everything we’ve seen the past few days.
We want to know the real story about the places you visit - not some glossy, fake description. We want to know the best, but also what to avoid. Thanks for the honesty.

Ahhh! That's so awesome! We love to hear that people have binge-watched them all!
What should we do for Mexican Independence Day?
Go to Puebla
Explain a little of Mexico history in your videos, like extra info, you can begin with independence day
You guys should and only should try Grito in downtown GDL. It is amazing.
Should you want something less crowded try Glirieta CHAPALITA , which BTW,you`re more familiar with.
CDMX Zocalo. You have seen nothing like it.

Thanks for sharing the info. What’s the situation with mosquitoes in Chapala/Ajijic?
I’ve watched DOZENS of your videos for two years BUT this is the BEST on I’ve seen on many and the is the BEST on Ajijic. 👍🏻
Tengo sesenta y nueve años. 😉

She seems to be healing up :) Thanks for watching!
Another great video guys!! Have you any plans to visit Chapala as well as Ajijic?
We’ve been to Chapala a bunch and made a few videos there. We love it!
Keep on being honest about places, both good and bad... very much appreciated !!
I love the fact that you guys are doing great. People would come out as mean most of the time but i know you are taking it as water off a duck's back. You guys are awesome and i love your honesty.

She hasnt uploaded any new videos in a while. I also have been wondering why , hope shes okay.
@@406rogelio It seems very strange to me. I also hope she's well, I think the Tangerines were in contact with her, but it was several week's ago.
I miss them. they are vegans and I relates to their videos.
If you saw our @TangerineTravels Instagram post, you know that we might have another UA-camr collab coming up. Any guesses what channel it is? ;)
Thank you for your honesty. I appreciate that in your videos.

I honestly really like you guys. Your reviews are great and I like the way you represent with honesty.
Where is Pilar’s located? Do you know their business hours?
Thanks guys for de videos i am from chapala but live in the USA but my sister lives in chapala and she is bilingual so thanks for been so open minded
Hey guys how long will you be staying in Ajijic? I arrive in Chapala 9/14 would enjoy grabbing a drink or something to eat. I have been to Lake Chapala numerous times and may be able to show you a couple of hole in the wall places.
What kind of camera do you vlog with? It must be light for you to be able to hold it out for so long.
How much is your house rental...looks really nice...love that backyard :) :)
How come you could not name the place you grabbed breakfast in San Antonio?
It was just awful food and bad service. We don’t want them to get more business but we also don’t want places retaliating against us while we still live there for giving them bad press
@@TangerineTravels Ahhhh, point well taken! Understood.
Where is Pilar's place? Is it on the carretera?
It's on Google Maps as Restaurante Pilar. Near the corner of Ocampo and Río Zula
My main issues are:
1. Traffic. Ay güey...So much of it 🤯
2. The smog near the city center
3. The noise
4. How long it takes to get to a destination that really isn't that far away.
I'm really enjoying your channel so please keep up the good work.
Thanks for appreciating our perspective! We love GDL and the surrounding areas. No city is perfect :)
im from guadalajara and i love your videos! keep it up!!!
Thanks Eduardo! If you haven't seen all our Guadalajara videos, you might like this playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PL_1iJW4YPFcOybtRjs_eqLBuS3H6kYM3N.html
Thanks for being honest about Mexico. It's much more valuable than the sugar-coated stuff. Love the dog, too!
Uggh! I just paid $240. cdn. for a cleaning & de-scaling & that is after paying $114. for X rays to see if I needed any fillings or extra work done. We are considering Lake Chapala area as soon as the travel restrictions make it a little easier to leave & return to Canada.
I love to hear your negative and positive experiences and that is why I keep watching your channel AND DONG THAT BELL!!
20k so cool :) great video guys as always and very funny the tangerinesaurus segment 😂😂
l totally appreciate the honesty, in life you gotta know the good, the bad, and the ugly!
Did you know that mexicans small businesses use to write with a misspelling just to notice them?
Oscar Alfonzo clever
Not sure if that’s true in all cases, however I usually avoid businesses with misspellings, therefore that strategy doesn’t always work 😉
I'm Mexican, and while what you say could be true for a few businesses, that's not the rule for each one of them. If I requiere to go to a Barbería (Barber Shop) I would hesitate to go to that place if it's written like "Vartverraía", etc.
I think that is brilliant, and to think of the kind of person that would take the time to go inside to correct it. Bravo!
Great jo!! Love your honesty and stratforwardness!!
Soriana is one of my favors stores to shop whatever I need when I am in Mexico or Mercaditos nearby .
I'm still here . Love the honesty
Thanks for stickin' with us Remie!
Hey guys, I would love to meet you before you leave. . When do you go? I love mocojete in Chapala . My treat if you have time.
Just subscribed because i want to hear the truth about Mexico ,so many of the utuber s sugar coat
everything ,you guys tell it like it is ,keep up the great work
I appreciate the honesty, btw. Who knows what UA-cam is doing, they're not transparent and you can't please everyone
Thanks John! We do it for everyone who appreciates the honesty. Plus, if we were always walking on eggshells to keep everyone else happy, we wouldn’t be happy and it’d show through in our videos
I appreciate your sharing the balance
i agree in its value
Thanks!
ha! you saw hundred of empanadas in Tlaquepaque because it was Semana Santa. You didn't visited other churches but around every church in the city there is somebody selling them in that week.
How come you didn't say the name of the first restaurant, you bleeped it out? I didn't see where you answered this if you did. :)
+EresParaMI We didn’t like the place. Thought it was overpriced and just not a good value.
We live an hour away from Ajijic.....going top Ajijic next weekend...hope to bump into you guys...
We're in San Felipe, Baja. Wish we could afford to move to the mainland. Would love a cooler climate with more fresh food variety. Came here from Western Washington--trees and rain. Here, it's all hot, dry, desert.
Zenjim237 San Felipe in Baja is the mainland (since San Felipe is not an island)!
Or it is?
it's on the gulf coast of a peninsula, separated from mainland Mexico by the San Andreas fault and the Gulfo de California (aka Sea of Cortez--a tourist board name I detest.)
Zenjim237 not that it is important...

You should go to la Barca Jalisco
I feel it is something very good to express honest opinion about everything. You will get more subs tangerines, have a great time where you are.
It would be helpful to add what. Season you’re in to get an ideal of the weather. Also would love to know if any hairstylist who works on blondes in Ajijic - color specifically. Thank you.
Two sides of the coin in anywhere is Perfect, good job !
Yes, please always be honest....whether it’s good or bad.
Go to super lake, there in ajijic and tell us what does you think the products that sell it
We have a husky as well and yes, toy lifespan is measured in minutes.
I really like your videos. I prefer knowing the truth, good and bad. You guys are doing an amazing job!!! Thank you so much
You guys might want to think about leaving out the word ‘negative’ in your commentaries. It’s loaded with bad connotations. Perhaps you can talk about the aspects of Mexico which are different from the United States and Canada. No need to use words that imply a judgment. This is just coming from an old marketing guru.
+Roberta Rand Thanks for the advice :)
This is the most intelligent comment :)
There are things in Mexico that are negative for Mexicans too. No need to cover it. The trick is knowing which things are which.
It was a bummer to learn of that one place you dined at that over charged you both. No doubt they do exist unfortunately, not only in Ajijic either... Stay safe and thank you much for sharing :)
You din´t go eat at Don Perro toady?
Ummm...we may or may not be at Don Pedro ahora 😂
is the lake swim-able? Does it stink? Dirty?
I want a T-shirt that says Tangerine is the new black! Would buy from you!
Yesss! Amazing idea
Great idea!
Or one with two smiling tangerines wearing mariachi sombreros. I'd buy one.
I just want to say thanks for being honest, that have more value for us, Thank you a lot!!
There’s an increase of retirees from the US and UK retiring by lake chapala. It’s interesting! Check out the retirement centers in the town
Was in Ajijic in April of ‘18’. Don’t know how I missed not finding Pilar’s but next time I’m there (maybe this fall) they will definitely be on my hit list😄. Tnx for the hot tip👍👍
Love the videos... thank you!
Hey guys, the bugs are called moyotes.
You guys just add credibility by covering both sides of the topics in your videos. Keep em coming.
