Barbershop fragrances are my favourite fougeres. I know I haven't tried all those awesome barbershop fougeres out there, but for now my favourite and daily driver still is Platinum Egoiste, I'll always have it in my rotation 😅
I have every single one of those. Which wouldn't be surprising given fougere is my favorite genre. My favorite barbershop fougere is Beau de Jour, but THE quintessential Barbershop Fougere in terms of scent profile is YSL Rive Gauche Pour Homme. You could also throw Creed Bois du Portugal in there if you want. I would also add Floris Elite to the group. Pardums de Nicolai New York Intense as well. Rogue Perfumery has a new one out called Targhee Forest, which is like Rogue's heavy oakmoss version of a Bois du Portugal.
Finally got to try Gravitas today. What an evolution it takes. One of the better openings I have smelled in a spicy fougere, then it gets quite coriander dominant which I like but dont love, and then that coriander dies down into a patchouli and vanilla scent which to my surprise, started smelling like ani as the top and mid notes started fizzling away. What a ride. Need to give it a few more wearings :) Hope to try Essentia at some point, hopefully someone in NZ nabs a bottle.
Thanks for updated barbershop list!!! Have many from this list. My favs are yours also beau du jour and 2 you didnt mention, Amougage Bracken and fougere royale

Great list, and many of these are on my "want list". Sartorial is fabulous and I need to pick up a full bottle. One mention about Xeryus. I pick up a strong violet note throughout so if you're like me and prefer violet as more of a supporting note you may want to pass. Love Rive Gauche, but if you don't want to pay $$$ River Fougere by Dua is a great alternative (if it isn't sold out).
Xeryus is a wonderful fragrance and a staple in the collection since its original release. Layers really well with Terre d’Hermes. Try it and you’ll see.
Great video Dan, I love all the fragrances in the list, talking about invasion barbare that I love, I was watching JJ live a few hours ago and he compared it with 1725 (Casanova) by Histoires de Parfums... what do you think? what is your favorite between these two?
Thank you so much for the Super Thanks Fernando. Yes there are similarities. I found 1725 had a slight licorice note that differentiated it. Definitely similar though.
@@MrSmelly1977 I am but a humble UA-cam user who has been bestowed with the grandmaster of fresh/herbal fragrances Mr.Smelly. Have a pleasant weekend, sir.
Branch out and make outdoor videos. This is ok but Rich Mitch unintentionally did a remake of Get Carter when he visited a remote reservoir and reminisced about watching the sun rising over the waters. It had a gritty northern crime thriller vibe.
All of these suggestions are top notch. Has anyone tried Alexandria fragrances original creation "dapper 1959". It is so ridiculously good. The absolute quintessential barbershop frag to me. Its their take on an italian barbershop in the late 50's. Crazy good stuff.
Haven't you done this list like 300 times? You need more descriptors because you've done so many, like top 10 barbershops for a Sunday, top 10 barbershops for eating fish, top 10 for pushing Naughton & Wilson on people, top 10 for, well you get the idea

If you have Chanel egoiste then you don't need anything else....I love the og & egoiste...will always have them both
My favorite barbershop perfume: Chanel Platinum Ēgoïste
As someone of the same generation, I love your taste in frags, Mr. Smelly. And always happy to hear you talk about barbershop scents.
Thank you so much. I appreciate the support.

Acqua di Parma colonia
Paco rabanne pour homme

What about Fougere L'Aube from Rogue?
Beau de Jour is also my favorite of the genre. Paco Rabanne Pour Homme (green bottle) is also right near the top for me.
@@dorianducker4802 PRPH was up there. It was butchered.
My top, currently, is Amouage Bracken Man. It is superior to TFBdJ imho.
Replica at the barbers is pretty good imo
Yes ! I am wearing that today funnily
I wish Gravitas and Gravitas Essentia were availiable in Brazil. I'm a sucker for fougères and Beau de Jour is my current favourite from my collection
Beau de jour is a great fragrance
Dior Eau Sauvage , Pino Silvestre, Chanel Allure Sport Cologne, Floris 89, Truefitt & Hill Apsley, Tom Ford Beau de Jour
Great video with some great choices in there and I enjoyed it and have a blessed day
Thank you Michael
You welcome keep up the good work GOD BLESS 🙏
YSL Rive Gauche still the King of barbershop 💈
Yes!
@@MrSmelly1977I just snagged two bottles of this and I am SOOOO PUMPED!
I have two of the vintage black can bottles also.
@@andreawilson6887 from where?
I got three YSL RG original cans with one body wash left .

Awesome list, sir! I absolutely love Sartorial!! Has some sentimental value for me, so it's tough to top!!
Thank you so much! Sentimental associations can be very important in loving a fragrance !

Xeryus brings back memories.
You're not being annoying by throwing Gravitas in there Dan. ⭐ It fits right in. And I agree with all of your picks!!
Thank you!
I've heard nothing but good things about it, purchasing a bottle next week.
I own a bottle of ADP Colonia Futura... Would that be considered a Barbershop fragrance also? 😊
Great videos Dan,keep up the great work
Tom Ford's Fougere D'argent is also great. 👌
Great choices my friend!!

Acqua di Parma Colonia my alltime fav. Good enough for Cary Grant & Katherine Hepburn good enough for me.
Milano Cento and Bon Monsieur are both excellent! I also love Masculin Pluriel by MFK and Heritage by Guerlain.
Thanks, all great fragrances.
Great video mate - superb choices!!
Thanks a lot Greg!
Ysl rive gauche is the best!
Sir you are far better reviewer then others you Tuber like Jeremy fragrance and 🎉
Thank you. I do respect Jeremy.
Dan! check out De Flore by Athena fragrances... a near 1-1 of Rive Gauche. I have both and wear the Athena often.
Sir, I’ve just ordered a sample of Scandal by Roja as I’ve heard it’s a “modern fougere”. I trust you completely. What say you?
Scandal is pretty nice, but I think Roja's Danger may have better Fougere bonifides.
It is a great fragrance and I doubt you will be disappointed.

Paco rabanne pour homme, aqua di parma essanza both my favorite barbershop fragrances.
I was glad to see Gravitas Pour Homme on the list, I got it and it's very nice!!
Thank you so much!
Beau de jour is really great in small amounts.
Would you consider Creed Green Irish Tweed as barbershop?
Bois de Portugal is the true barbershop fragrance from Creed but GIT is right up there too in my opinion but not as much a barbershop type to my nose
@@mnnicholas304 Fougere Royale, Bois Du Portugal, Viking and Beau De Jour would be my ultimate Fougere Avengers 😃😃😃
I was expecting Bracken man in the list. Best fougere I know
Unique and wonderful!
Great list

How did I miss that!
Loewe Aqua Él is Good?
Watch “Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai.” These scents are the way the mafia bosses smell. Great selection, Mr. Smelly.

Creed Viking
Dior eau sauvage edt is one the best barbershop fragrance
I LOVE Rochas Moustache' edt :)
I don’t know why, but lately Beau de Jour smells very very green on my skin to the point I can’t stand it anymore
Thanks.
They discontinued Rive Gauche because it was good.
Platinum egoist
Creed BDP is the best of the best
A crime to not have Floris Elite on this list. Love you anyway. Great list otherwise.

Excellent.
