- Touta Matsuda is my favorite character in Death Note. People often ask me why he's my favorite. There are several reasons why I love Matsu, and here they are.
Please realize that everything in this video is based on my opinion only. If you don't like Matsuda, that's fine and I can respect that. I'm not trying to change anyone's mind.

The way Matsuda respect Light and always believe on him, yet he's still the one who got the guts to put Light down with the shot, that's truly a person with sense of justice!
Exactly! I agree completely. And I love that Matsuda was the one to shoot Light. If it had been Aizawa or anyone else, it wouldn't have had the same impact because everyone else already suspected Light. The fact that it was Matsuda, added shock value because you don't expect him to turn on Light like that. Thanks for watching!

Right? I like that too. That even Ohba couldn't bring himself to kill Matsuda and realized how important Matsuda is to the story. I'm glad he felt this way and that Matsuda survived. @Kitsune's Trove same I was rooting for matsuda when he shot light because he felt betrayed. I just want to give matsu a big hug and tell him that everything will be ok🥺
Never got the hate Matsuda has. He's a great guy and I felt for him the characters didn't give him the credit he deserves. Hell during the Yotsuba arc it's because of him the team got to speed up their pursuit of the "Kira" in their ranks. Seriously he's risked his life a lot for the case which I think is pretty commendable. Not to mention Light's betrayal I think hit Matsuda the hardest. Like think about it besides Soichiro, Matsuda was the only one kept trying to defend Light and when he finds outs the truth plus Light calling his own father the VERY man he respects a pathetic fool he's emotionally devastated. That's what makes hits gun shots at Light as amazing/satisfying as they are because at that point he's just done with Light's crap and I was with him when he pulled the trigger. Also helps even Ryuk likes him which is pretty cute.
I agree completely. I always felt so bad for the way everyone else treats him. They all act like he's a useless idiot and don't trust him to do anything more than being Misa's manager. The whole reason he sneaks into Yotsuba to begin with was because he felt like he had to prove himself to everyone
And you're right, he got them a big break in the case by doing this, yet he never gets credit for it.
Honestly, Matsuda shooting Light is my favorite scene in the series. I couldn't stand Light by this point and I love that the one person who took him down was also the one person who always believed in Light the most. And I agree that Light's total lack of remorse for his father's death is what really pushed Matsuda over the edge. Soichiro was like a father figure to Matsuda and someone that Matsuda looked up to and respected.

I've thought about that, too. I think if they ended up together, Matsuda would be so overcome with guilt that he wouldn't be able to keep it hidden from Sayu. I think he would have eventually ended up telling her everything.

I've actually been planning a video of Light moments. I only avoided it for so long because, as the main character, he's in almost every scene, so I had to go through and pick out certain key moments, unless I wanted to make it 2-hour video, lol. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of Light, I know that there are a lot of people who like him. So yeah,, Light Moments will be coming in the near future. Thanks for watching!
