Yes! If one likes to run past anything, then one must be aware that he/she will get brutally and mercely "gangbanged" at some time. And it is annoying as hell, and also frustrating, since one will lost more time and more souls when he/she was just trying to be quick.

Just like with ER, the toughest boss of these games is actually your character control (well, at least on mouse-kboard). My (now deleted) char bears so many salty curses for jumping instead of rolling and switching weapon wielding instead of showing second items menu.
Agreed. This video shows a lot of how FS aren’t the gods of game development people want them to be. Areas like Blight Town prove it further. They couldn’t even program walking over a plank of wood properly. Many times you can get stuck on geometry in the heat of battle and the hardest enemy is actually the camera once you “git gud”. Their world building and art design have always been the best aspects of the souls games. The combat tactics/mechanics are largely the same in every game with some changes in BB and Sekiro. Their games are still fun but people praise them like they are the absolute peak of game development and that’s just not the case. Elden Ring is great and easily their best game as far as mechanics and functional game play go but still has some BS moments as well (I’m still early on so I’m sure there’ll be some stuff that comes up as I play).
@@slartybartfast1112 that I can definitely agree with. I think the problem with people who defend "From Software" is they don't understand just how bad they can be. They like to just focus on the good things they do while completely ignoring all the bad. ER is fine on your first playthrough but it gets painfully boring on all subsequent ones to the point it kills your motivation to even make a new character at all. The endless copy/pasted bosses and dungeons, unrewarding exploration, and gigantic treks between locations don't help either. Open world just really doesn't work very well at all for a souls game.
