That's what I call thinking outside the Usual Yacht. Looks great. I love the long pool idea moving about.

Methanol is clearly the way forward. I'll be very excited to see the first climate-neutral yacht actually be built. While I laud the innovation on display here, I do rather doubt the first such climate-neutral yacht will be that divergent from the more classic look and function. Still, in terms of pushing the envelope, this is clearly pushing all the buttons.

I hated the first 28 seconds of the video. Interesting concept, but I think all those plants are going to be destroyed on your first trans-Atlantic crossing. The tennis court is a very specific past time that I don't see being utilized often. The water path and park just seem like an absolute nightmare for the crew to maintain. Where is the galley? Who is separated from it? Does the owner have to go below deck or do the guests have to go above deck? What happens when someone wants a midnight snack? And why not make the tennis court area a touch - and - go for the helicopter instead of the bridge?

I think that yacht designs like this are all well suited 'only' for their passengers on excellent climate voyage days.
I get why yacht owners feel like the central area of the yachts do not get used much, as they arrive at their yachts most likely get a tender/helicopter on preferably good days, but they'll missing that area when its not good climate and their passengers are below deck/waterline without much to do.
I like the swimming pool, nightmare for the naval architectures as water spillage down, healthy and safety with children falling, the glass strength, ballast of counter weight.
As for the propulsion of the yacht, I would hope this is soon a real opportunity for the future of water crafts. It'll be a financial win for the person's/companies that can make it happen.
The earth is getting more and more boats/ships every year and the planet is suffering from a lack of necessity in a macro compliance and evolutionary development aspect.

Your last sentence makes absolutely no sense when compared to reality.
The main salon is rarely used by guests and owners because they spend their time either outside or on the sun deck. The main salon is mainly used for parties when the boat is docked, and for crew when dealing with off-season activities/logistics, thus it's the least-used area.

@@grondheroAbsolutely no sense (1st point) is not recognising other usages, like if the yacht is going to be travelling in bad climate.
If the yacht is going to be used on voyages, the weather is not going to be good all the time (the earth's climate, it changes). My point was that no one wants to be high up with out feeling safe on a terribly rainy day and with rough seas.
This design does not cater for bad weather conditions, bar lighter sea conditions and calmer raining days.
I not saying that I don't like it, I'm saying it's not fitting in with a realistic chance of being built if it doesn't address voyage passages that would make it more bearable on bad sea days.
Therefore my original point was that this yacht does not fit with reality, I'm not sure what you referring to saying that my point does not fit with reality?
Ignorance is again a good example of what you have to say about a subject matter that is not to your liking. You underestimated that this could have been done decades ago with more deliberate and direct forward thinking ideas back then, yet a decade later we still don't have enough companies still wanting to pursue it more vigorously. So, again you're wrong to say IGNORANT, as if you have the correct.

    • @grondhero

@@lionelgower6877 I don't think you're understanding the words you're using. To begin with, _climate_ and _weather_ are two different things measured in two different ways. Climate is measured in decades while weather is measured in days.
Outside explorer yachts, nobody charters a luxury yacht for bad _weather._ (Climate is irrelevant here.) Luxury yachts are all chartered for "perfect" weather or ideal conditions. The worst weather they might have is a rainy day or afternoon. If the weather is going to be bad in one area, they'll sail to another.
Luxury yachts aren't cruise ships, so they rarely go on "voyages." The vast majority of charters are one week _or less._ Occasionally you might get 2-4 weeks, and once a year someone might charter for longer, but that's extremely rare and not something the ship would be built for. If a luxury yacht goes on a "voyage" it's generally an Atlantic crossing between season (there's a Mediterranean season and a Bahamas season).
For this particular yacht concept itself, if the weather is bad, they have the "sky lounge" to take cover in. If the weather is rough, they'll go "below decks" (below the main deck) where their sleeping quarters are, because they'll feel less effect from the waves there.
I stated _"Your last sentence makes absolutely no sense when compared to reality."_ In case you don't understand, your last sentence was _"The earth is getting more and more boats/ships every year and the planet is suffering from a lack of necessity in a macro compliance and evolutionary development aspect."_ In no way is the planet "suffering from a lack of necessity." That's one of the most ignorant statements you can make on many levels. If something is unnecessary, it's not going to be created (aside from government bureaucracy) because there will be nothing to maintain it.
The luxury yacht market is booming for several reasons, but demand and accessibility are part of it. Another reason is that the yacht builders are all streamlining for more and more environmentally friendly boats, _and that demand is coming from the yacht buyers._ From the material used to build the hulls to the engines and exhausts. Not sure what you think a "lack of ... evolutionary development aspect," is, but it definitely doesn't apply here.

@@grondhero Your statement is absolute and final, oh no, that's just your OPINION.
WOW, you are not in touch with reality. The weather is a constant changing thing, even less than a week away from the home port, it'll charge the worst.
Don't give up on the reality.
Climate is something I was referring to you about how the earth isn't a constant and not referring to the period.
'Absolutely no sense' is just letting anyone else with a different perspective on on something that you don't have a COMPLETE MONOPOLY on the subject matter.
Absolute is final and no one is available to have a opinion because you think so, no I disagree and not respectfully.

@@lionelgower6877 "Life is tough. It's tougher when you're stupid." - John Wayne
Again, you trying to use _climate_ to reference _weather_ is bad, and now you're doubling down on it. Again, climate is measured in _decades_ not in weeks or months. And Earth constantly changing isn't simply due to climate (which is a result of the sun and our orbit), but to tectonic plates. No one is going to design a boat around tectonic plates.
Your comment is stupid because you're comparing things that shouldn't be compared. It's like if someone complain about how shoes are designed compared to highways. It's a fallacy makes _absolutely no sense._
"The weather is a constant changing thing, even less than a week away from the home port, it'll charge the worst." *Stop being so stupid.* _Seriously._ Weather doesn't simply "get worse" because you move from point A to point B. The weather on the eastern border of a country isn't the same as the western border, unless it's a very tiny country.
To make things simpler for your tiny brain, if someone is chartering a yacht in Monaco and wants to go to Barcelona, but it's raining, they can instead go to Crete where it's not raining, or vice versa. _That's how chartering yachts works._
My parents live a 45 minute drive away from me. They've had thunderstorms on days where we've only had overcast. They've had rain where we've stayed dry. Sometimes, we both get rain. _That's how weather works._ If it's storming at my parents and they drive to my house where it's a clear day _the weather doesn't get worse "just because."_ *Stop being stupid.*
You evidently don't know much about yachts, luxury yachts and the chartering of yachts. Stop trying to make _absolute statements_ when you're ignorant. Stop trying to double down on your statements just because you're hubris is in the way.
