Also the book for anyone who has never taken drugs can get a good idea into the psychology of those who do and lifestyles of them. That it seems he really wanted to put across with his book.
Phil k dick the author of the book was an amphetamine addict and hardly did any l.s.d. plus he smoked weed. This story was from the result of the damage it did to him and those he cared for around him, his writing was often fuelled by binges on speed which as a drug depending on the mind is briiliant for articulating your thoughts but has bad side affects including delusions and extreme paranoia. But he was clearly well on the ball with his philosophies and completly aware. A true genius.
The suit is a representation of of his job. Fakeness. Not knowing his true self or what he is doing. This entire film is symbolism and referencing. The suit is not just a hi tech suit and it doesnt have anything to do with the drugs. He took the suit off when he left work yet he did drugs after work. The suit is not just a suit.
Wow, It flashed back the moment I've first seen this movie. So much pain, so much frustration, and all those flushing feeling of regret on the end of this movie.
That suit must be some advance stuff, embedded soft electronics, color changing fibers, built in audio / video capabilities, wireless networking, electronic countermeasures, etc.. That's right out of star wars but it's probably only 5 years away..
