Is the primary clutch supposed to move in and out freely like that? I have a g16 mine is real tight. Was also really hard to get the old belt out from under it. Do you think i have other issues?
I have a Yamaha g1 I just put a bran new starter belt on it I went maby a mile down the road and it somehow got stuck in the secondary clutch belt what are some suggestions please and thank you it’s been a pain in my butt lol
@@WeekendHobbyMechanic thank you 🙏🏼 I’ll check it out I just bought a new belt because like I said the last 1 lasted a mile lol I’ll double check make sure everything is aligned Is there a way to tighten the belt? I couldn’t find anything on it tried looking it up but nothing
my 2017 Yamaha gas cart has been losing power in the sense that going uphill is difficult. now even just two people i goes super slow to slipping. the drive belt is very loose. how loose should it be? i only have 50 hours on it. is there anything else that could cause it to lose power going up hill? fuel filter?
Measure the width of the belt (Should be 1inch wide or more). Check your air filter, clean it. You can jack up the rear, start it up and watch the clutches to make sure they're working.
There is no adjustment to the belt to tighten it or loosen it. The shaft centers are fixed. The belt becomes tensioned as the centrifugal clutch begins to move when the engine is throttled up. If the belt does not tension when the engine is throttled up then you likely have a mechanical problem with either your front or rear clutch.
Great video. No need to overthink it. Easy job.

No issues with your clutch.
thanks man.
👍
sweet and very easy to do
I pulled and tried to roll off the old belt and I cannot get it off. Any suggestions? Is there a drive belt removal tool?
I just cut them off. And then install the new one.

Wow. There is something wrong with the bracket causing alignment issues or the belt is not tighten enough.
