♥ "You don't know what you really like when you have too much." That goes along with the decluttering philosophy that says if everything is important, then nothing is.
This resonates so much with me. I started incorporating "useful" wall decor, hanging a trivet up when not in use, a basket for my tea bags, my straw hat, etc. I am so sensitive to my surrounds these days that I am uncomfortable visiting people in cluttered and overstuffed homes.
I felt lime you were speaking directly to me. 😂 When I think of the “decor I’ve purchased from thrift stores, TJ Max, and everywhere in between” I absolutely cringe! Thank you for leading the way to a more minimalist lifestyle. Your home is really lovely. ❤️
When you showed the pictures of your early attempts to make your house a home and described it as shabby chic but really more just shabby, I really related. Our first home was cluttered with cheap, mismatched items that I though gave it a homely and farmhouse cottage feel. Housework was always a chore and I never felt my home looked presentable. I still haven't quite found my style, although I am getting closer, but simplifying and minimising visual clutter has helped enormously. Your videos always give me inspiration and great tips. ❤
Love the use of real plants in your space. I’ve been going through my seasonal decor and really paring down. I do like bringing out a few sentimental pieces each season, but I’m so tired of shuffling stuff around! I think I’ll dedicate one or two areas to seasonal stuff and let the rest just be year round. So fun to see your old pictures and how far you’ve come. Very inspiring!! ❤️
I am in maintenance declutter mode but I find so many helpful tips from your videos. Sometimes things go out of my house because I buy a better quality replacement. But then that leads to me decluttering more items. I have started putting things aside that I don’t think I’ll use and decluttering them after a few weeks if I know I can live without them.
Great content! You're helping me find my way back to a more minimal lifestyle. Clutter creep set in during Covid, but thanks to your inspiration, I am getting back on track!
Home decor stores are my weakness. So many cute things! Right now I’m trying not to go see the new Easter stuff because I know it’s going to be adorable & I’ll bring home more that I don’t need. I have Easter/spring decor already from years past. Plus, it’s literally wasting $$ that could go to savings. Thank you for your tips.
Hey Becky, in my opinion you should remove all the shelf’s specifically by the tv wall Making it completely bare. It can freshen up your space. Plus you don’t have to ever dust it anymore. Huge progress so far! 🎉 sending you lots of love 🥰🎉
❤ Since I started watching your content and learning from your personal de-cluttering journey, I’ve increased my own de-cluttering. I was holding onto items big and small for sentimental or financial reasons. You got through to me when you spoke about the “combustion rule” especially. I was keeping objects just in case…. I’ve always worried about my grown Son and Daughter having to sort through what they would consider “my junk” after I die, so the more I can move on now the easier it will be for them. Thank you Becky and I wish you and your Family good health and many more happy adventures together. P.S. I love seeing your gorgeous dogs in your videos. ❤️🌻
New subscriber here… I have lived this lifestyle going on 8 years, it’s just so peaceful, and calming to live like this… no one realizes until they decide to live minimally or should I say intentionally I will binge your videos, I love being around like people 😊
Now that I have hung a couple of pieces of big art that I love in my home, I find I don‘t need much else as distraction and that my home interior follows the art and I no longer „need“ smaller, more cluttery decor. Also, now that I am in my 50s and have inherited some beautiful things, I don‘t bother with generic decor. We love and use our antiques, instead.
I was the opposite with decor. I didn't know what I liked so I didn't buy any. I still don't know what I like and still haven't bought any. Ive bought plenty of other things like a garage wall full of storage bins
Lots of good easy ideas here. I have been taking everything off a shelf or sill and only putting my most favourite thing/s back. The window sills are now bare always. I really like this one!🧡🩷
Becky. Wondering if you could either respond here or do a video on something I'm wondering about. Since you are newish to having a YT channel, how did you get started? Meaning, what resources did you/do you use to start? Camera, lighting, editing, etc. and anything else that a newbie may need to know. Along with blogging, I'm considering a YT channel as well. Thank you thank you thank you! Leslie
I’m struggling a bit because I have crystals and tarot cards collection Iv decluttered at least 100 black sacks of things I’m in a one bed flat and disabled my daughters do my house work bless them I started off with a five bed house now only me lol and my woofit but I feel like I’ve not done enough though x
You either love decor or you don't. I like a coffee table and side tables. I agree a few blank wall look great! I have donated a lot of decor. Minimalist decor is nice, but it is not for me! I definitely don't like a mess or clutter. Too much decor becomes very heavy. I get it. 😅
I love the small, lightweight coffee table. We have a small ottoman with storage that we use the same way...plua as extra seating. I love the look of big heavy coffee tables, but I don't like having that much floor space taken up or having to walk around them all the time.
I feel the same I liked our big, heavy white coffee table it was farmhouse looking but I wish I had a dollar for every time I ran into it or tripped over it, or had to ask Jordan to help me move it because it was so heavy 🤣🤦🏼♀️

That is one of my favorite sayings 💕 and it has always been true for me!
That is so true. When you declutter down to only the things you REALLY like, you find out the rest is just stuff.

I’m so glad I’m not alone! hahah I’ve spent so much time and money on decor I’d like for a month or two and then switch out 🤦🏼♀️
I love love love your channel. Always inspiring and real❤
Thanks so much ❤️❤️❤️
One more thing.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the music you choose for your videos!! Peaceful and relaxing home with music to match it. ❤
Thank you so much! I just started using a new service so that’s great to know ❤️
Wonderful and doable tips. Your home is lovely and warm. Love the color and the accent of the wood and plants ❤

Thank you so much for sharing ❤️ it was such a struggle keeping up with all those things, but at that time I didn’t know there was any other way.
YES!!!!! Blank spaces!!!!
I wish I could get my husband on this train. 😩
Love the peaceful feeling and look of less is more decor!!!
Thanks so much ❤️ I’m lucky because my husband already likes a more minimalist modern design so he was very happy to get rid of all my decor 🤣

@minimalease it’s a sleek socket from Amazon
@@minimalease thank you!!
Sheer curtains in a living room are not practical, especially when it is dark out. People live in living rooms, day and night.
To each their own 👍 this is my opinion
