The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is the premier late night talk show on CBS, airing at 11:35pm EST, streaming online via Paramount+, and delivered to the International Space Station on a USB drive taped to a weather balloon. Each of her characters on ORPHAN BLACK had not merely a different personality but each one had their own soul. Every performance was mind blowing and absolutely captivating. The show was as addictive as a hardcore drug.
I still think she never got the accolades she deserved for that show. Not only did she play multiple characters interacting, she played multiple characters pretending to be other characters. And each one was so real they could carry an episode by themselves.

@@12fuxu2 Absolutely. That show demonstrated her to be one of the best actresses. She believably played an absolutely ridiculous number of characters, all with good accents, and she played them against each other. It was a really interesting concept for a show.

I'm a huge fan of Orphan Black. She was just mesmerizing and completely believable in each different character.
30+ yrs, I ve seen all sorts of movies, tv series...but I ve never seen anything like Tatiana Maslany @ Orphan Black. Its been years since I watched the series & am still mind blown by her super talent every time I think about it.
I just finished a full watch through of Orphan Black for the 3rd time and I can't help but see Helena in her laugh at 1:29, 2:05, Cosima in the little half smile speaking out the side of her mouth at 2:17, a bit of Sarah in her "yeah yeah" at 4:58 and "you don't wanna fight me" at 5:23, and a little Alison smile at 7:02. Gosh she's so talented it's ridiculous.
Tatiana is one of my favourite actors. And she just exudes positive energy. Great to see her getting all these projects and recognition.
She was just extraordinary in Orphan Black. I literally forgot it was the same actress playing each clone that's how good she is.

Same! I would forget every time that she was the same person in real life! She was absolutely each of her characters, completely different people for me.. though I knew it was all her. Cosima was my fav.
I lost interest in the show before it ended, but Tatiana was phenomenal!

Fun fact: They are both starring in a fiction podcast called Power Trip, which is about a woman called Jane (voiced by Tatiana) who gets mind control powers after a black market kidney transplant. It's freely availabe here on UA-cam with new episodes coming out every thursday and it's really fun! I'm also really excited for She-Hulk. I've been waiting for her to get more mainstream recognition after her legendary performances in Orphan Black, and I can't wait for everyone to discover how insanely talented she is. GO SESTRA!

It's a credit to her acting that I was attracted to some of her characters in Orphan Black but not others, even though they were all her.
While watching orphan black it never really seemed like the same actor was playing these characters. It felt like they actually managed to get clones to play the roles, its insane how good she is

The explanation I liked best about the difference between Banner's Hulk and the other hulks is that Bruce Banner was actually just mentally unstable. That "The Hulk" was always a part of him that he had trouble managing even before the gamma radiation, and his new transformation just gave him an outlet for it.
Yeah. Tatiana did herself no favours with her explanation for why She Hulk isn’t a rage machine imo. Half the comments you see about this show already are incels whining about her seeming to be “a better Hulk” than Bruce is already “cos she’s a woman and it’s woke!!” even though that’s not the case..
And Tatiana basically came here and said “yeah, she’s better cos she’s a woman” instead of giving an actual reason 🤦🏻♂️

He has DID, she doesn’t. Simple as that. The various incarnations of Hulk are manifestations of his various personalities. The new incarnation of the Hulk is the strongest because all the personalities merged back into one consciousness. Pretty sure it’s been the case since World Breaker Hulk. Possibly World War Hulk.

Sweet personality, gorgeous and all around a likable person from what I’ve gathered. I know she hulk gets a lot of hate but I hope it’s not cause of her cause she does her job so well.
our dog Seamus (black Labrador Kelpie cross) (both breeds very intelligent) had an outside kennel - but was pampered and spoiled, esp by my mum & was very much an inside house dog - the ONLY time he was in his 'dog house' was when he had been bad - he would put himself in there!!! only then would we look & find what he had done. so completely totally *understand* when Tatiana says "he's very responsible" 😻😹

I thought they were both professor hulk. Either way, they ruined him in the last movie. He should have been extremely angry after black widows death and fought Thanos a little, he should have got super angry and regenerated him arm and took out a good deal of the bad guys. Glad the arm injury wasn't permanent and screw the Russos favoritism.

I’ve never seen orphan Black but I saw the first episode of She-Hulk and found Tatiana instantly captivating and off-the-charts charismatic. The most likeable person in the marvel universe.

"She-Hulk" is how she's known by the public, tho she continues to call herself Jennifer. Kinda like when some "new" style of music comes along, which is really just old school rock, and the industry labels it "grunge" but the musicians are like "what does that mean?" And it sticks because the public apparently needs convenient labels. So 30 years later, it's still called grunge, even tho no one in the bands that carry that label ever used it themselves.

"She-Hulk" was only created around 1980 to secure the trademark for a female Hulk. The same thing was done a few years earlier with "Spider-Woman".
Orphan Black is on my to be watched watched list once I finish NCIS among others. I am absolutely amazed at this woman's personality, beauty and personality. What is not to love?

I re-watched it recently. It still holds up, and her performance(s) are wonderful. There have been so many advances in CGI since then, that the mechanics of it feel a lot more obvious than they did when I first watched the show. But I found I adjusted to that about halfway through re-watching the first season.

She should have got the Emmy best actress for all the years Orphan Black aired the first release. As those were some of the best years of TV drama, she could have cast in some great roles. But the Emmys voters deliberately ignored her for 4 whole years and when she very deservedly won at last, it was on the brink of covid. That lost another 2 years of possibilities

I love she hulk. She's had her creative ups and downs over the years for sure, but she's a great character. She forgot to tell Stephen or possibly didn't know, that she hulk was arguably stan lee's last great creation.
Cute show, but I fear her talents may never be used to the fantastic level of Orphan Black again.

Jennifer can retain her intellect without the trouble for a few different reasons.
1) Bruce had already altered himself to be able to do so by that time. While a lot of it was a matter of working his way up to it by moderating his transformation over time, there were still physiological changes associated with the process that changed what it would do to anyone exposed to it.
2) Certain individuals have different genetic markers that cause them to react to the exposure in different ways. And Jen is one of them. It normally probably would've still made her Hulk-out as Bruce originally did, but her behavior would've been different, most likely. But between that and the fact that Bruce had already altered his physiology, she was lucky enough to only lose her cool and black out a couple of times.
3) Bruce actually did help her, by helping her understand her circumstances and the nature of her transformation. Had she not had that initial time to adjust, she might've kept running through the trees after murdering some dudes at a bar, now afflicted with the trauma of killing people and desperately splitting herself away from the persona that did it. It wouldn't have been the same as Bruce, but it definitely would mean she'd end up with DID.
Women are no better at compartmentalizing their emotions than men are. They just lash out in completely different ways because they're unable to really do significant violence. Men smash and stab and shoot...women do petty verbal backbiting and poison and similar things. There's no difference at all. It's not even that much of a men versus women thing...since plenty of inconsistently gendered individuals often do one or the other irrespective of their actual gender. It has more to do with capability than anything else. Women aren't built for fighting, men are. But there are always exceptions of a wide variety of sorts, and to just as wide a variety of degrees. But the rule still holds.

Robin Wright should have just handed over her Emmy to Tatiana, simple as that. Her acting in Orphan Black was absolutely extraordinary. Anybody else on that stage should have been embarrassed.
I believe I have not seen her in anything before (I think), but now I feel I *have* to do some research and watch her in some of her other series, but I'll settle for She-Hulk first 🙂.
Orphan Black is amazing, One of very few shows I've watched more than once. I'm not sure where it's available now though, it was on Netflix for a while but not anymore.
Orphan Black is a masterclass in character acting and story telling.
@@dzd2371 Yes, I couldn't find this series on any of the streaming services I'm currently subscribing to, including Netflix. That's a bit of a bummer. But I'll manage. The only remaining option would be to seek out the seasons released on Blu-Ray, but that's costly and I don't buy stuff on old-school discs unless I *really* enjoy it and wants the best image and sound quality available. But thanks for the tip. I'll keep an eye open and look for it to reappear somewhere 🙂.

Oh my goodness this entire time I thought she also played Deb on Napoleon Dynamite, but turns out that is another person altogether.
Actually, the reason is that when she got the transfusion, it was from smart Hulk not the original Hulk. He had already had his platelets modified to allow intelligence to remain.

I think it’s more because she didn’t have Bruce’s traumatic childhood and so she’s less psychologically damaged than him

But sure, go for the insult rather than the reason. Make theatrical cheap shots rather than rational explanations from the creator himself. Yeah, I am quite sure that is what serves the story best, irrational nonsense.
