You can see the wear patterns on his tools, I'm not surprised after he's been using them for 70 years. My respect to this craftsman.
WOW, it's amazing what a good artisan can produce. Superb craftmanship. Greetings from Paraguay.
There is just something satisfying watching things being built
I love watching old craftsmen doing what they do best. Lost art and talent. Inspiring to say the least. Japanese are amazing people.
It's not a lost art and lost talent if people are still doing it.
@@chrisstearns10 True Chris, but its only the elderly people left doing this type of work.
@constantinep.9357 I am 39 and have been doing woodworking all my life. I have seen others younger than me taking up woodworking in UA-cam videos. Sure, there might be fewer people doing it, but there will always be people picking up woodworking in the future. It will never die out completely.
There is something in China that this kind of carving carved is lifelike to learn more about China
It's irrelevant art because machinery does what they do with better precision.
Although it maybe is just a wooden spoon, the effort, dedication and craftsmanship adds to perfection which gives a value more then just a spoon. A beautiful creation.
My total respect and admiration- A true Art-Form.
Workers/craft persons are very focused good ethics and fine details, a tribute to them all including the sound, camera and editing
That wood has incredible straight grain.
Hermoso, maravilloso, extraordinario. Gracias por compartir.
Những nghệ nhân Nhật làm thủ công khỏi chê chỗ nào, Họ làm sắc sảo tuyệt vời 🇯🇵👍
this is impressive, the control he has, Hats off
Love the sound of the wood. Good effort. Keep it up! Awesome mastery, a pleasure to witness.
Nice and excellent hand skills amazing. Thank you.
I'm so impressed on the tradition they have on their work they do.
When Sansei asks you to hand him tool number 3-15.4a from the wall, you better get it right for him. True master 🇯🇵🙏
🇧🇷🇧🇷Japan! We the world respect and LOVE YOU .🇧🇷❤🇧🇷🇧🇷
This man is a gem 😊❤
Truly a craftsman what an honour to watch him work😊
That is a lot of process when making a spon! And his tools are amazing
parabéns .muito top bom trabalho valeu sucésso e abraços.
👍👍
Always HAPPY to see a new Video from you!!!!
Superb being given the opportunity to watch a master craftsmen at work
He make it look so easy, but I know it took years to gain that level of experience. ~ Paul ~
These Japonese are virtuosos of blades, but also douer to perfect, a perfect work. Like wooden spoons, the pipe the melangeur . What I like about them is the Katana blades, which cut like butter. These blacksmiths are gods, when the Tamahagane flows. To make a powerful blade, it will pass between several craftsmen to perfect it , that the Samurai used several centuries ago
This satisfies me on every level
That is some good quality 👍 nice job on the details it came out great 😃✌️❤
japan tech giant but still there are traditional masters it's a great thing
He is quite a Master at the work he doze. I bet he take grate pride in the pipes he makes.
Yes ! But i have worry's about smoking from a pipe with solder ??
Untuk di pasar Asia prodak Japan memang teruji kualitasnya. is the best japan.
🇯🇵 Jesteście wspaniali ❤ Dziękuję
I was relaxing so much watching those ladles being carved, then all the almost Zen-like relaxation fell away in front of me when an industrial process with robotic arms started hahaha
lol I was dozing off then jolted awake when the robot arm flew across my screen.
Old Masters are the best. It helps to be Japanese perhaps. I wonder what else he has done in his life.
the fascinating thing about the japanese is, they can be cutting edge total quality modern production, yet still have room for ancient craftsmanship. don't see that in the US
Race has nothing to do with it. They have several thousand years head start, and population density orders of magnitude greater than ours.
"don't see that in the US" - Yeah, and the US has lost it's manufacturing too. Weak leadership sold the country out.
Hands and eyes of a master!
Wonderful work ❤❤❤
❤❤❤😊🎉💞🔥.
Svaka cast majstore
Outstanding workmanship, if you order a japanese tool, you know it will be the best tool you could ever own.
Too bad he can't put a decent handle on any of his own tools.
Amazing Great Job
For rough machining on the periphery, tools such as electric saws can be used.

This is really traditional and a joy to watch - I wonder, however , how he makes a living given the time taken to craft these things.
They must retail for huge amounts.
Adoro artesanato.....💖💖💖
Vielen Dank für diese Videos. Liebe Grüße Gerry
Amazing tools
Merci pour la vidéo!
Wow so amazing . Very skillful
Funny that with all the automation the human eye hand coordination is still required.
Props for him i would definetly hurt myself that is IF i will make to his age! ❤👍👏
The craftsman’s website lists “cherry blossom”/Sakura as the material used for the version of the ladle shown on the video. Other ladles list chestnut.
Everything looked great when it came to the mixer. Apart from the fire/electric shock risk that is the motor connection. How hard would it be to just stick them in a little enclosure?
Great video, thank you for sharing!
One very small correction for future videos, 49:17 the legs are not placed in a mold. In metal and woodworking, that is called a "jig". It holds the pieces in the correct position for welding, fastening with bolts, screws, glue, etc. You can see it at 48:45 as well, when the worker uses the three clamps, that is also a jig. 🙂
The jig is up
I would call that a fixture. A jig also guides the tool (like when used for drilling, it also guides the drill), a fixture does not.
The ladles are beautiful
Bu ustaya saygi ile selamlıyorum cok merak etmişimdir Bu kullandığı ağaç kutugu ne olabilir şişesinden cok guzel kasik olur kestanedende olur bunlar hangi ağacı kullanıyorlar merak ettim sadece
Super good make !!
Wonderful.... the master spoonmaker it's a step down of Buddha
Cool hash pipes!
Masters of the woodworking craft leave no tool marks on their final product.
I would have liked names and other metadata, e.g. who the man is making the wooden ladle, when and where it was recorded, where to watch more of his work
Ngưỡng mộ ❤❤❤
Love to get some of those engraver tools
Where can I buy one of those silver pipes???!! So beautiful! Google isn’t coming up with any good results….
Very nice video ❤
Very interesting. Thank you. Domo arigato)) can you say, whats wood use?
If the carpenter uses electric tools, it can be done at a fraction of the time. But by making it all by hands… it’s like creating unique art works. Would I be willing to pay more for is craftsmanship? Definitely! Unlike identical machined utensils, each one would have different ‘fingerprint’…..So ‘Japanese’.
Then there’s hand pallet fork lift, laser cutting, robot welding….all about precisions…..Again, also, so ‘Japanese’!
I remembered watching Begin Japanology about mini factory. Some part of JAXA’s Japanese rockets that went into space were made by a little metal shop with very few employees rather than a giant manufacturer!
Proklit tangan manual tapi keren
I would love to learn about all of his tools
Greetings coming from Indonesia, Maluku Province, Aru Islands, greetings fellow anglers and always strike greetings
Banyaknya alat pemahatnya keren bisa bisa buat apa saja
nice...what skills...
France merci !
Great holding drvices
_“I just saw the coolest video about an old man who makes wooden spoons!”_
If future-me traveled back in time to talk to past-me, I probably wouldn’t believe me.
Great video!thank you.what kind of wood is used for the ladles?
