Looking good Dave, concrete pours are always a worry.
@@2MuchColinFurze yes just started uncovering it today, very satisfying 😀
Colin and Tom Didn’t fancy coming helping ?
@@incorrect1844 they were probably working in Tom's shop.
Maybe Chris Bibby was at Colin's?
It's always a great week when it has a Furze day and a tunnel dave Friday init
Concrete, bunker and tunnel. You’re living the dream man!
It's every blokes fantasy to build underground bunkers and tunnels. I love watching Colin Furze videos as well.
I pretty much only follow YT channels where it is someone excited about what their are doing and want to share it with other like minded individuals. If they happen to make a side income or even become a full time YT - I'm more than happy for them!
Sharing something that you personally find of value is a sure way to eventually get viewers IMO, as other people will find it of value too.
Always looking forward to the series updates, another great addition!
Oh how cool! Can't wait to see the ceiling of the bunker take place too
Colin will be super proud 😁👌
Those diagonal reo bars are to resist cracking that would start from the weak spot at the corner of your cut out, smart move cos cracks always seem to take the path of least resistance.
You are an inspiration to us all!
When we were kids, we had all sorts of crazy ideas, including digging our own tunnels by hand (35 years later, they are still there). This sort of stuff just appeals to the inner child in me and I wish I could do something like it! I hope that you're able to get done everything you want to do. It's really cool. Thank you for sharing. And may YT take off enough for you to at least help a little with the finance part.
This vid made my day. Also I'm horrifically jealous of your mig welder, mine 15 year old cheapy would never give such clean and quick welds on rusty metal.
Those welds were not technically necessary. Most would have used wire. That was just an excuse to use his shiny new machine. 🤣🤣🤣
@@synicyst9925 100% I'm just jealous of anyone with a better mig welder than me.
Proper graft Dave .. and its looking sturdy, built to last 🙌👌 cheers Rob
Very nice, Dave! Glad you ordered enough concrete. Thanks for sharing this project with us!
Safety squints are the ultimate welding accessory! Awesome project Dave!!
Dave mate it’s coming along just nice now can’t wait for the next one mate keep up the hard work mate
Thanks, will do!
coming along very nicely Dave ... thats gonna be a cracking bunker 🙂
Great progress! Pouring the concrete is cool. Ultimate internet unboxing video up next!! 😂
Alright Dave, nice to see the walls up mate proper cracking on with it well done. Watched collins update yesterday seems you did some nice formwork with he insulation board, collins side didn't come at as good it seems lol
I was thinking the same thing, need to comment on his video 😀
Great job Dave! That’s a lot of work by yourself. Enjoy the videos.
Thanks, glad you like the videos 😀
Good work Dave. That's some heavy duty shuttering. Looked like bloody hard work.
Great job, thats a lot of work, I need a nice cold beer just from watching it
My nerves were jangled just watching. Wow, that was some pretty serious building work. Good job and thanks so much for making and sharing your videos.
Absolutely loving this project, can't wait for the next episode.
Glad your liking it, next one will be out next week I think
im loving the progress so far keep up the great work!
Class progress, well done on getting it completed, when it is the first time doing it.👏
The rebar and form work look really nice.
Progress!
Side subsidence are problematic in open basements scenarios.
Speed of completion is of the essence.
I should get me some popcorn and watch this with some beer and relax be safe everyone
Plans are for perfectionists Dave lad, who needs plans when you don't need em. Right next video please.............
Great stuff Dave, lots of progress, really coming together now.
Fantastic watching this come to life and the hard work you put in..
That's coming along nicely. Keep up the good work.
Great job Dave, glad the pour went well I was holding my breath watching :) love the customisations to the kit
Glad you liked my modifications 😂
man this is looking real expensive now.. Very cool , awesome progress !
Cool beans Dave. Not sure what'd hurt more, all that serious graft, or paying for it!
Your videos are always a welcome addition to my day. Thanks for the content!
Glad you like them!
Even as a labourer for a company that did forming and pours, concrete day is stressful! Looks like a great job!
Yes it was! Glad it all worked out 😀
Great video, looks stressful as hell though, pouring a concrete base is one thing, but doing walls adds so much complexity!
That subterranean growroom is going to be mint 🤘🌲 leepy wil be so jealous . Keep on keeping on. ❤
Nice job Dave, love the fact you’re sharing your project. 🍺
Thank you! Cheers!
That's a great leap forward and looks really good. I can't wait to see the big reveal when the formwork comes off.
Great video Dave, nice to see it progressing in the right direction mate, that is towards your house 👍 looking forward to seeing the roof slab going on .
Thats a huge amount of progress, very nicely done. That will be there for ages I imagine, very cool to build something that will last
Good work Dave and thanks for sharing I’m always looking forward to your videos on your channel can’t wait to see what’s next
Awesome, thank you!
You’re awesome man, and I love that you’re Collins friend. I wish I could build a bunker. In America here it’s a little bit difficult dealing with the neighbors and the government.
Great job with the rebar and forms. That's what will make or break a concrete pour. I bet the walls come out very nice.
Yes they have come out good 😀
Love a bit of welding with full safety squints
I hope you will be able to make money off your UA-cam videos because it is so much fun watching imaginative people like you doing what I would love to have been able to do.
Nice to see the channel growing Dave. You'll be at 50k soon. Bunker is coming together. Always a great day when I get your notification 🤘🤘🤘
Alot of hard work there Dave !
Keep it up looking forward to seeing it all done 👍.
Yes I’m looking forward to seeing it finished myself 😀
I hope you feel better soon Dave
Bunkers getting along nicely 🏆
You’ve earned a sub Dave I love seeing people make these bold feats of engineering it’s really satisfying
Welcome aboard and I’m Glad you like the content 😀
Thank you
Bloody brilliant Dave
Looking good pal… doesn’t look like it’s a high water table but a water bar wouldn’t have been a bad thing.. seems like you have everything in hand and making a decent job 💪🏼
Very cool. The diagonal steel above the tunnel entrance is there to tie the corners to prevent corner cracking.
Just a suggestion: concrete shrinks as it cures always. Insidently, it also generates some heat as it cures. The steel re-bar cage actually expands some as the concrete warms up but shrinks back as it cools. The concrete only shrinks as it cures . Over its life, any expansion of the concrete is minor. As the concrete shrinks a lot more and faster than the steel rods, you want the different pieces of rod to be able to slide a little to prevent cracks forming in the concrete. Thats why tie wire is used. The only welding ive seen in years of concrete work was to make very large re-bar longer. They used a special cad-weld just to make a continuous long verticle 5cm bar. I really enjoy your work and wish you the best.
Rebar formed into welded mesh is very commonplace around here. Even for reinforcing beams in concrete slabs, they use trench mesh - three bars of heavy rebar bound together with very light cross bars.
It's a great project mate. And a great milestone to get all that concrete in.
Great work!! Nerve wrecking when concrete started flowing. Happy that it went alright. Thanks for sharing another great episode. Cant wait until next update.
Shuttering with metal looks a lot nicer than trying to do it with OSB/Ply.
Topdon products seem pretty good, I have been using one of their diagnostic tools at my workshop for the last couple of years and it works really well and is way cheaper than running a snap-on/Autel/Bosch, I have been looking at the thermal imager but can't justify the cost to how much it will get used.
twitchy bum time there Dave with the bolts pinging off, looking awesome!
Subscribers pouring in as fast as the concrete in this video! Great work Tunnel Dave!
Yes the channel growth has been good for the last month 😀
blimey that really is going to be one hell of a bunker dave, awesome! 👍
This was fun to watch. When we pump concrete in norway, usualy we use a pump on a crane, then we pump around 3 times. ,that way the concreete can settle a bit under halfway, before we do the last two trips atound(offcourse all the same day when it is wet). When concrete get a little time to settle, you kinda remove a bit of the preassure to the frame. If that made anny sense? Looking forward to more updates. Keep up the good work😊🇸🇯
The third mesh and concrete video I’ve watched this week. The Restoration Couple weren’t building a bunker, unlike the others.
What channel is that?
EPIC Dave as always and thanks for sharing ❤keep tunnelling
Dave, I love your enthusiasm and the way you try to avoid saying "Sodd it, it'll do" cos we all know some people will complain, as long as it holds up and it's to spec so that the man can't get you, then you don't have any worries. keep it up fella, you do you.
Yes I’m just trying to make it as good a job as I can, concrete has come out well 😀
Love watching your videos. Keep up the great work and fantastic content.
Thanks so much!
Never seen a form like that used in a concrete pour. Seems like a whole lot of labor. Should be fun to disassemble. Thanks for sharing.
love it, seriously cant wait to see the end results
Excellent work! Glad everything held.
Me too!
Very nice Dave, I bet you're glad to have the pour done!
Yes just want to get it filled in around it now and the pressure is off 😀
Great work again Dave, concrete day. Been there before 😅
Looking awesome now can't wait for the end of the your project I bet you're shattered, 😉
Wow! You are really moving on this Dave! Well done! Glad the head injury was miner…doh! 😂
Yes just a scratch 😂
Bloody awesome!! Great progress, might be able to go to the pub now...
Not yet, got to get the formwork out yet 😂
Looks great Dave! Hell of a project!
Yes it’s a bit more of an undertaking than I first thought but getting there now 😂
Great video Dave, excellent update, including the camera work and editing 😛
Thanks, it’s getting easier 😀
Up here in Michigan we call that a basement. I would think a bunker should be at least 10’ under group….perhaps I should stop thinking.
I love these videos though. Keep up the awesome work and God bless.
Yes you are probably right, it’s just the way it’s connected to the well and other room it sort of makes it more than just a basement I feel 😀
3 cement mixers! Your walls are even bigger irl or the useable volume of a cement mixer is smaller than I imagined.
Great entertainment. Thanks Dave.
They hold 8 cube each so needed just over 2
19:45 Amazing how much heat dissipates from setting hydrating concrete, its a perfect exothermic reaction with the water.
If you _can_ make money out of UA-cam Dave, then good luck to you. Its hard to make cash in these times, every penny counts!! Go for it!
I wondered what you were up to when I was down at the Depot and I saw the Mixers over the Hedge.
Lovely job.
good job
Thank you! Cheers!
Great work! Looking good 💪
All of this to get a service pit for the railcart! 😮
Fantastic job grab a well deserved beer
It's always stressful doing a concrete pour there's so much time and money at stake 😮
Yes just one more pour to do next week and I can have a brake from concrete 😂
Mega video Dave! Looking good.
Glad you enjoyed it 😀
Great video Dave 😊
Dave is way ahead of Collin!! I think I am gonna win my bet.
Colin’s job is a lot harder considering his building site is right on the edge of the pavement and his job is on a different level, I’m just trying to beat the weather ideally 😀
just discovered you're channel you're well on you're way 👍 and let's face it ever bunker should have that trolley 👌
Welcome aboard, yes every tunnel needs an electric cart 😀
looking good mate tidy job that
Great work! Keep it up!
It's interesting how you use a very different method to Colin. Is yours just more 'industry standard', or did you need the gap between the concrete and ground for drainage? Would it even have been possible to use shuttering on just the inside?
Probably to save on the cost of concrete!
So cool
This is quickly going to be an addiction stronger than any drug.
Bloody excellent
It looks great! I am a tad concerned that you won’t be able to cover it over though as it seems high…
So cool my bunker is living in NZ hope that works lol
Looking good but where's the kicker? You should put a kicker in.
You need to dig a walk through tunnel on the other end that goes us a lift to under a liftable fireplace. Then you can easily being stuff into the house and back. And you can dig another few levels under this room and under your house like colins bunker but 40ft high ceilings . Just dig a ramp down to underneath so you can keep going with your backhoe. 😂
