Forget where I heard it but the saying goes “a falling gun is all trigger and a falling knife is all blade”

Nothing to prove here, other than I was happy to have a drop safe gun at the time (HK P30). One time I was running drills in gravel and slipped, let go of the gun on accident, and when it hit the ground the barrel was aimed at me. After clearing it I had to take a quick walk and the whole time I was glad it was drop safe and unmodified. I'm now more comfortable with a not drop safe gun as Ive improved, but I always think about that moment when I'm running something not drop safe
Chrome CZ with the OLight O-Dot and it says “BIG SCIENCE WORD” laser etched
Who else is just waiting for the staccato P drop test?
The CZ armorer channel did a test on this with regular firing pin and extended firing pin with an empty primed case! With the extended firing pin it was not drop safe but with the standard firing pin it was drop safe!
"Children all around..."? It's a spring, a tube, a follower, and a base plate. Harmless. TSA is stupid.
Always gotta get the kids involved
Title of the next controversial video: "Sig has the best QC"
I was 5 feet away from a guy holstering a Shadow went it went off. It was a steel challenge match and I was watching the holster when it happened. He did not apply the safety when it went into the holster, and it fired when it went in. It was a fully enclosed holster. Missed his ankle by about 3 inches. The RO was a joke and I spoke to him after it happened for not DQ'ing the guy for not applying the safety. This is why I was watching, because I suspected he was not applying the safety previously either. I can't say that I know what set it off, but it happened.
I have a Swampfox Justice 2 on my G34 and honestly, it's great. You can get one for like $200 shipped and it's clearer than my Holosun SCS Carry.
Clearer?
@@HWG-wm8ld The glass isn't as tinted. The dot has less bloom. There's less emitter glare.
Ben and Joel Edge together should be the video title.
My only question is does no one use the half cock on there cz? It's literally there for it to be decocked and hammer not resting on firing pin
I would love to see IDPA and USPSA change their rules to allow it. Unfortunately, the way the rules are written for Production/SSP, a DA pistol without a decocker has to start with the hammer in the fully down position.
@@daninva6458 was not aware of that but that does seem dumb especially since cz even says to carry it either cocked & locked or in the half cock position
Why doesn't CZ just install a decocker on the S2 ? We don't use the safety anyways in production.
Agreed and I would definitely carry one on half cock rather than fully down for carry.
i get the guy saying you should load the pistol for the drop test, but it should be dummy or practice rnds. the added mass in the magazine could influence the drop test.

Can you do drops with the shadow 2 with the hammer back?
I was a Policeman at an airport. Its ridiculous to think an unloaded magazine would be confiscated. But TSA is another Federal agency always looking for more work and if I intervened it would usually make it worse for the citizen. Shooters, security people..ect often forget their guns in their carry on luggage and this you want to avoid. Ammo and knives would simply be confiscated and a report made but a gun will get you pinched every time. I never got called over an empty magazine, which might as well be a fountain pen, but TSA can be a hard bunch to reason with. Something about that job just makes them ornery. The airlines can be just as bad. I had a counter-drone's hold up shooter's because they didn't have their ammo in the exact box's they bought the rounds in so I used to carry in my work bag empty 9mm ammo box's for citizens who got held up like that so's they wouldn't have to lose their ammo. I would tell them the JHP's were from the exact FMJ box's I pulled out my ass for them.
The idea there's no Ads only negligent is one of those mantra that only lasts till you get into gunsmith ING or manufacturing you're own firearm designs.
Iv seen guns fire when they were charged, fire when you drop the slide with the slide release, even one where the safety being released was enough movement to set one off.
Race holster negligence is an issue and you should NEVER attempt to catch a dropped gun.
Theres a lot of ways modified guns can get sketchy and that's always something that makes me question the drop tests and claims of an AD though.
CZ marketing department: What do you think guys? "Doesn't pop on one drop?"
Unloaded magazines are clearly not appropriate for children 😂
‘The NY incident’ was 80% negligence, 20% CZ. A culmination of poor attention to detail, lack of physical ability and terrible luck. Wasn’t the first gun dropped.
I heard in podcast once NSW Operator decocked his MK25 / P226 and it went off . Didnt hot anyone and luckily he was pointed in safe direction. To say all AD / NDs are 100% user is BS .
In this case at USPSA for sure its user error .
Thoughts on Canik, specifically the Rival-S
With all your years of experience and all the rounds shot down range, what pistol and rifle peak your interest and / or excite you to shoot?
Hello Ben this not on topic but can you go into what we should expect from your revamped book and the pending release date
I don't get the preciousness about pistols. The second they get shot, for me, they stop being pretty and start being tools to be used and maintained until they break or I get bored of it and move onto a new gun.
The shadow 2 was never ment to be drop safe its a comp gun or was never advertised as drop safe. So i really dont see what were trying get out of this.

@@HWG-wm8ldThis is the way 😃
Do we know that the XC has a normal length firing pin though? Maybe, in their quest to getting a 2lb trigger pull instead of doing things the "right way" they are using light hammer springs and making up for that with an extended firing pin.
That's irrelevant. It's the factory configuration is considered a duty gun, so that's what should be (and was) tested
@@lordhellfire153 100% agree, but if it's all standard parts then this problem isn't unique to the XC at all. I'm unaware of any 2011 on the market with a firing pin block and a LOT of builders are now selling "duty" guns. I'm aware that this will be possible on every series 70 type gun on the planet, but it should be a bit tougher than the first go lol.
@@bentastic27 Makes me wish Stealth Arms would make a series 80 Platypus. That'd be a hell of a duty gun
Please for the love of god don’t tell me vortex is tryna get you to review their CCW dot😭💀
Ben any chance you get a stock 3 pro tell us what you think of it,,,,, pleeeeease
Piss off the right people and getting what you need = all around winning.
S&W already leaked the new vortex sight.
User was shooting CO, it was not a race holster!
Can you drop test the timney trigger on Glock with blank case with primer thanks. Many youtube vid say not drop safe
I've done extension research on this and have never seen anything proving that it is not drop safe. The timney trigger cannot override the safety plunger spring. Whatever you have seen is most likely goons taking trash.
Pop! In one drop.
Do a review on new Osight please
It’s an inexpensive optic that may work.
Can't throw the mag away in the trash. But if was a bag of used syringes they'd have been happy to take them out of the bag and toss them in the kid's play place for you.
BEN! Won't you please think of the children! THE CHIIIIIIIILLDRENZ!!!!
