absolutely! the drops were fine on their own but the two pistol bullets stuck together were one of "those" finds. that just shows you how much practice they had with their firearms. hope the river clears up soon. that place is pretty nice! Thanks for sharing Beau.
I've always loved archaeology, which is why I enjoy this channel. Mr. Chigg's enthusiasm is always contagious as well. It won't be much longer, and I'll go ahead and buy a metal detector, probably just like the one Chigg uses. Cheers!
He really does have a way of making you want to learn more about the colonial era and recover some of those lost relics. Every piece is like filling in more of the story of those lives and events.
Chig, you're really incredible. I mean, looking at just how rugged that landscape is, and noting how small those bullets are, it's so impressive that you're able to find them - like finding needles in a haystack made of water and sharp rocks. If it's there, he's gonna find it! LOL
Hey Ken, I’m a fellow Michigander! Just curious of the county your in office you don’t mind me asking? I never run into any one locally that finds artifacts it was curious of what areas of our state we can find stuff colonial as well.
@@dylanlitwinski2418 I'm in St. Clair county . The farm land is the place to look for arrow heads in the spring . I've never found and artifacts in my stream/river .
@@MrScottgp not every river but a lot. people used them for everything from dumping their trash, fishing, trading, traveling, etc. research is your best bet to find out how long the river has been in use
LOL geese rattling the brush ... brings back the mad Beaver attack. Great day on the river like the brass plug, reminds me of transmission drain or fillers and of course barrels too.
S Awesome finds today chigg. This looks like an awesome place to spend the day checking for those civil war camps. Im sure there are lots of relics that are just waiting to be uncovered up on those Banks. Great video. An congrats on all your finds today. Have an awesome weekend. An we will catch you on your next adventure. 😁👍👍
As I’m watching from Missouri, I am envious? Well, itching to be in a location like where you are! I haven’t ever (that I know of) been in a Civil War era location. I have found an infantry button, but I found it in front of a home built in 1910 and adjacent to an War of 1812 cemetery. That is all I know. Chig, your water hunts and knowledge are incredible! Thanks for sharing!
@@jacobcarrico1 I appreciate that..even if I did come down, I would know where to start. I think I can find an area or two here. It is all about the commitment, I guess!
Hi Chigg! Well .... Not a bad days hunt! You found goodies both on shore and in the River .... Also, some good prospect areas for the next trip there! A pretty good Diggin' Day! Till next time ..... Have A Good Day!!!
@Aquachigger hey chiggs :) for in the future when you find those hem weights near a body of water. “Ladies were known to sew weights into the hem of their smock-like bathing gowns to prevent the garment from floating up and showing their legs” . They also used them on the bottom of dresses too. Loved the hunt :)
Oh my goodness.right out of Gone with the wind! A hem weight! I've read about them never seen one! Ladies of that time had so much fortitude! Heavy skirts and petticoats and tight shoes and corsets to endure...and hem weights too!!and soldiers had them sewn into jackets?
Haven't watched TV for four years. Turned it on today and saw you in River Hunters! Loving it. Couldn't believe it was you when it came on. Well done! Nice to see you here in the UK
Great video, awsome finds. Somehow the Canadian pennies seemed out of place and time for that area. Very odd for them to be there. Finds are finds. Thanks Chigg 👍
Couple hundred years ago at that exact spot...a person may have feared for their life for many reasons, soliders, natives....the Chigg fortunately only has to fear canadian geese!
Hey Beau I think you're half dollar from 1816 is counterfeit due to the US Mint burnt down that year and no capped bust half dollars were minted that year. Oh well, nice boolits !
I recently found a very small what looks to be gold gilted button that said "Rich colour" on one side and a small eagle with its wings spread on the reverse. I'm not sure but I believe these buttons were very popular when Andrew Jackson was president and are commonly referred to as Jacksonian
At about 16.00, you were complaining about something in the air making you cough/sneeze. You were under a Sycamore tree... The mealy powder on the back of the leaves makes me cough and sneeze something fierce. I'd bet that's what was getting to you, too. Fun hunt though. Looking forward to your next vid!
The Civil War paid a visit to my town and damaged or destroyed every building in La Vergne, TN. Both sides met up in force 15 miles down the road in Murfreesboro where they slugged it out for a couple of days. I keep saying I need to metal detect the creek behind my house but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
Thanks for sharing Chigg! Your river adventures are always fun! @Aquachigger **I was wondering what, if anything, did you do differently this time from the last time you where there years ago?
@@michaelkullas2031 Thanks, I understood that at different times Chigg was looking specifically for different relics. I have not stated my question well. I was curious if Chigg had a different approach, method, SOP, ETC... to how he metal detects. What has he learned over the years (like securing a bottle in your pouch) that has been beneficial! Thanks though, for recalling what he mentioned at the end of the video! CHEERS!🤙
Was there a battle in that area? I was wondering if troops scrabbling up the bank may have slipped and dropped bullets or been shot from the other bank and fallen? I suppose you'll never know!

Another excellent relic recovery adventure by Chigg, a man with a brass bung, old dog and a wobbly kitten. Much respect.

Love watching these vlogs. Love all the Civil War bullets.
I love the chewed bullet. Squirrels do that. Nice video. Happy place and I thank you.
Yes Chig thank you for caring about and saving our history..so connected to the old and gracious cultures of the past!!
Have a river on my property similar to that no war fighting here. Just indians . Michigan

Awesome site! I bet there's a few buckles and plates hiding around there! The river relic vids are always my favorite.
Outstanding hunt Mr. Chiggles. Can't wait until you revisit this spot.
The two civil war fused bullets are definitely my favorite
Loved that little brown bottle.
LOL geese rattling the brush ... brings back the mad Beaver attack. Great day on the river like the brass plug, reminds me of transmission drain or fillers and of course barrels too.
That's a pretty good haul there, Chigg. Lots of good bullets and a neat bottle

That absolutely was a super video. Awesome Chigg.
Chigg, we don’t have pennies anymore in Canada so it is a recent relic
Great hunt with lots of finds
That brass "bung screw top lid thingy" looks like a plug for swimming pools. Use them to plug the jets when pools are closed for winter.
Awesome one Beau! Lots of cool finds.
Good one, my friend!

What about a episode up on top of the bank, where you found the first bullet on the ground/rocks? Maby a campsite up there. Greetings from Denmark
Some lovely finds well do 👌

Have u dug around Paw paw Wv? Lots of revolutionary era travel through there.

Chigg's hard as nails, even uses rocks for knee pads, and fought off a rabid beaver, but Canadian geese still send him scampering though. 😁
nice bullet day. Bet that field above pays off. Might be some fossils hiding in that shale too
funny start !!!!!

If someone asks for a sip of beer, hand 'em that shrimpy brown bottle. Nice new pick without a magnet I see. Damn. ✌ 😃
30 yrs ago, i woulda went straight up that rock face. Not now! LOL
Interesting hunt - really enjoyed this one.
Thanks again Chigg 😁 👍

Nice spot!!! Mashed bullets are so cool. If they could only tell you there story!

In Civil War battles, it was not uncommon for bullets to collide in mid-air. The museum in Petersburg VA has examples of such collisions.
Good vid Cigg.
Chigg, I hope you have permission to go up on the bluff of that shear rock face where you were pulling bullets from! I wanna go with you if you do!

Dude! I saw your pick laying right there.
They popped out like a herd of rabid beavers!!!
Hey! River janitor, pick that up.
Chigg said Bung Hole hahaha..."Bung Holio" 🤣

Chiggs 🤘👍🏼🍺
Pretty little worn out river bend!
I'm from Canada Chig must have dropped those for ya last vacation.....lol Man i sure wish people dropped coins as much as they did bullets?
