It's a tragedy that a man like Elon Musk can amass this much power. He got into a position where each of his deranged statements "has to be" treated seriously by journalists worldwide and it just baffles me. There is some comedy in seeing him fail and fail again but in the end those failures really don't have to bother him. He's been the laughingstock of half the online world for at least a year now and that has done so little to limit his power. Even if Twitter fails in the near future the damage to an already broken discourse is done and he will still own infrastructure on the scale of early 19th century monopolists if not more.
Musk is 21st century Henry Ford. Smart but evil. Ford greatly contributed to the holocaust and hitlers war machine by peddling anti semitism and YT supremacy. If it was just his own companies, he was destroying, it wouldn't be so bad. He's making a lot of related techs look bad through just being in the same field as him. One of the main things in any business is to under promise, and overdeliver. It not only gives you a buffer, but the other person will be really happy when it comes in under time/budget. You don't need me to tell you that stuff happens, which you can't control. Elon just wades right in there, making outlandish claims. Alongside being a pretty unwholesome person in public, and treating his workers like crap. Then, like you say, he blames everybody else for his own failings. Whilst expecting people to fawn over him because he's just so cool. Like his solar roofing tiles. There's an English company which have way more advanced ones you can cut, and don't demand you lay them in one plane. When all the hype is around some not so great Elon project. I apologise for that bias, brilliance is not reliant on age, Vigeland is indeed a brilliant analyst, and clearly works extremely hard in order to have the understanding of these issues that she displays, she must do a great deal of thinking and reading, and it shows. The others are very good, this is in no way a criticism of them. But she is a stand-out. Given the parlous state of journalism in many of the so-called western democracies right now, it's a great relief to see younger journalists who are this good. I actually understand him clearly. One sign of autism is bluntly stating his mind and feelings. Most people don’t understand this. Specifically neurotypical people don’t seek to understand neurodiverse people. This segment was clearly about hating Elon…
There’s definitely something to that, and for them to presume to draw meaning from Musk’s body language carries some risk of ableism. But I think we have documented enough evidence of Musk and his voracious and shallow need for continuous positive affirmation that even if his constant glances toward the audience were themselves not neurotypical pleas for approval, we’d probably still have a good chance of being right if we guessed he was seeking approval from the audience.
How does he not recognise that the main reason advertisers are pulling out is precisely because his antics are viewed negatively by most consumers or "the world" as Elon puts it. So the jury is already out on him and we reject him entirely.

It's actually nice that advertisers didn't fall for his Israel stunt where he clearly went there as a way of trying to convince people that he wasn't antisemitic.
Israel is antisemitic, so it really doesn’t make a difference.
Hilarious to see a guy pretend to have principles (free speech; individual rights and liberty for all) only to drown them in a river with one ass-kissing visit to an apartheid state.
The thing that always amazes me is continuing to call people "minorities" when they are in their own countries, where they are the majority. That in itself says all you need to know about the attitudes and biases of those kinds of people, who only see one perspective and in their minds all the rest of the world are "the minority" even when they vastly outnumber the west.

Elon is walking in the similar direction today.
It seems like musk got into the business of electric cars, space industry and AI to achieve political power one day .
By owning crucial industries for future technology, he has successfully made the US government dependent on him. Despite biden admin criticizing him, the US govnt is still forced to work with him.
Even the government is powerless against him. Now he meets world leaders during wars despite not having any qualification in the government.
It is insane how much power one person has amassed.

It's also so extremely obvious whenever Elon is speaking in some public setting how very hard he tries to project a number of characteristics that he just doesn't have. As a business owner there is nothing more sad than seeing another business owner stand over the corpse of their failed business and say it's everyone's fault but their own. A stance they take the opposite of when it succeeds. Turds.

Emma Vigeland is fast becoming one of the hands-down best and most perceptive and articulate journalists in the US. This might be my own old age (in my 60s) bias speaking, but I'm constantly astonished by how young she is, given her brilliant grasp of the detail and nuances of the topics she presents. I apologise for that bias, brilliance is not reliant on age, Vigeland is indeed a brilliant analyst, and clearly works extremely hard in order to have the understanding of these issues that she displays, she must do a great deal of thinking and reading, and it shows.
