Hey folks. I love the guys and the show, and I’ve been a fan for a while. However, I do have to say the variety this season has been a little disappointing. Corey tends to play the same deck type each week and there’s a weird amount of threat assessment/kingmaking in Jon’s favour. I get the spite plays that occur, particularly from Stephen haha, but it’s beginning to feel less spite play and more the “don’t upset Jon” play from Corey. At this point, it may be worth removing the point system as it doesn’t seem to be relevant and it’s removal may allow for a more casual feel. This only meant to be constructive criticism. As a whole I love the stuff you put out. Thanks for the content!
Hey, editors, how about instead of spending time adding unpopular music, you spend that time putting up the cards properly in the card preview and keeping all the numbers accurate? It's telling that pilots were a standard mechanic last year and none of them know what it does. Corey's counterspell usage was baffling this game. His removal choices were less baffling, but more futile. Jeremy not using Boseiju on the artifact copy of Miirym made me sad mostly because he probably didn't know he could do it because the token wasn't clear. I preferred when the players knew the format staples, decks were in the 5 to 7 power level range with occasional trips outside with everyone on board, they played around the typical EDH "taboos" like 10 minute turns or multiple extra turns in a row, threat assessment wasn't always perfect, but it wasn't wrong consistently throughout an episode. I preferred what we had before and, while I'm still here for now, if the channel decides this is going to continue or lean more into these types of changes I'll probably choose to spend my time on other things. I hope I don't choose that. I've been watching the show for a long time and I'd like to continue.
Pilot tokens crew as if their power were 2 greater. Which means each pilot crews as if it were a 3 power creature. Meaning it only take 3 to crew Shirokai, not 4.
Oh look, Corey playing the same deck archetype he ALWAYS plays unless the episodes is themed.... Sigh Honestly, Corey is funny, but at least Justin fgave us significantly more variety. Corey literally plays U/W/x if possible, and frankly, it's getting a bit stale. Especially with with Shorikai, the most Draw - Go commander they've printed since Grand Arbiter.
you should do a sliver episode, where you play all 4 sliver commanders. there are 5 right? First sliver, Overlord, Hivelord, Legion and queen? Morophon doesn't count, so one will be left out and when you build the decks, you are not allowed to have the other commanders in the 99 :)
@@Misadon92 I agree but also if that's true why are they putting it all under stevens name instead of assigning that damage to the player. it's very weird, from later in the video when Jon attacks Steven with his commander they put the damage under Jons name. At this point, I think I'd rather they cut the whole point thing, it'd make someone having such a winning streak less annoying.
27 minutes into the video and all I can say is can Corey please be fired from Commander VS? Jon already has a 12 point lead and yet Corey makes decisions like he has a slim lead over Stephen and Jeremy and this is the final episode of the season.
can I say can you be fired from the comment section? Why would Corey allow a card to stay in play when it essentially makes his deck unplayable? If he followed your advice he would have been dead many turns earlier, without having even played magic

17:36 wrong, the pilots crew as if their power “was two GREATER” they are not crewing as if they have power two (2); they pilot as if their power is three (3)
I like Corey, he does bring some fun energy to the game, but I'm growing quite tired of his extremely poor threat assessment. If he was a regular player, I wouldn't play in any pod with him, only because I would anticipate him king-making the same opponent. Just my two cents.
Mirrym is way too strong, I don’t know how that was printed. Also, pilots can crew 3 because they crew as though their power is 2 greater and it starts at 1.
I miss Justin...Corey has the maturity of a 7 year old and is usually way too spikey of a player for this group. I think it's also caused others to up the power levels instead of being a more fun and casual group. He also gets so many cards wrong, just my opinion but not a fan of Corey.
exactly my thoughts. i find myself watching the show days after it finally drops instead of right away back in the day and mostly already with a sour taste because of Corey's insanely poor threat assessment and borderline stupid politics. also he probably thinks he is a good player, which is just not the case. so sad we cant have Justin back, but these facts only make the whole thing worse.

The Terror of the peaks does in fact see each other enter, so the OG will have three triggers, then each of the other three will have two triggers. 15+10+10+10=45 damage.
They do not all see one another since they're made by separately resolving triggers. If it was a single effect creating them all they would see each other. They see in order.
I love watching Commander VS but this season has been the most boring by far too watch. Every episode has been Corey and Stephen get into some minor dispute that takes one or both of them out of the game and Jon gets away with murder and wins. Most of the season I haven't even bothered watching the whole episode because 15 minutes into it it's already clear who's won so I skip to the end and sure enough Jon's won again.
Around 30 minutes Corey starts getting commander damage marked on Stephen and Jeremy despite not even being able to attack with his commander. This episode is kind of a train wreck in terms of fine details.

Ok can we talk about how dumb of a move it was for corey to let jon have 2 myriims but countered jodah. Ah yes i let the guy have the thing that will net him 4 dragons for the price of 1, but ill counter the thing that gives the other guy 2 creatures for the price of 1. Not to mention mryiim has ward so itll be even harder to remove both of them before jon can do anything, ive played against Myriim and as soon as you let them do anything the game is on a clock and you have to kill Myriim as soon as possible. Him letting Jon have TWO was game right then and there.
Jeremy not leaving up plaza of heroes to leave protection for his Jodah is a misplay. Also not killing the player with the most likely board wipes in their control style deck, is also a fail.
Miirym is an absurd card. I was so hyped for him when he was spoiled, I immediately built the deck to replace my Lathliss deck. But it was much less fun than expected, definitely not aimed at my LGS's power level. So I nerfed the deck by including only Forgotten Realms/Baldur's Gate cards. It's still hilariously powerful. That said, Jodah is an absurd card, too. But I increasingly dislike Jon's spikey playstyle and Corey's seemingly random thread assessment. Sorry boys, the group's dynamics have changed for worse. If I took a shot for every time I heard "Wow that cards messed up" I would be a dead man.
Thanks for the content!
miirym seems really strong, especially when all 3 other players ignore your side of the table and king make you. Still enjoyed the episode though
50:25 Stephen names the card Reprieve like way before it was printed in the LOTR set. Illuminati confirmed.
I'm mad that Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor is ridiculously powerful, and no one sees the value. I guess I should make a deck tech on him, because he is nuts.
Why not put the deck techs in the bio?
Anyone else notice the alchemy version of teferi?
Yeah, this channel is just becoming so, so sloppy. IDK what is going on
I know I’m late but I think Corey was trying to make Jon archenemy because he didn’t expect anything out of a miiyrm deck except attack phases.
I missed having regular new episodes on Wednesdays, thanks guys
the pilots crew as if the power were 2 greater, meaning the 1/1 you get crews for 3.
Why use alchemy tefers to refence the paper version?
Shorikai ist an Artefakt when he enters the battlefield not a creature and you can tap it direct for the abillity
Yoshimaru gets a counter whenever a legendary permanent enters the battlefield so boseiju triggers him too
Can we please get Justin P back, Jon is literally riding on Corey back. No fun watching!
I like the Tef art you used was the one from Alchemy not that they are different I think.
Oh look, Corey playing the same deck archetype he ALWAYS plays unless the episodes is themed.... Sigh
Honestly, Corey is funny, but at least Justin fgave us significantly more variety. Corey literally plays U/W/x if possible, and frankly, it's getting a bit stale. Especially with with Shorikai, the most Draw - Go commander they've printed since Grand Arbiter.
Wouldn't even mind as bad if risk assessment (or reading cards) were strengths of his.
how many times did they say it... TWITTER POLLS DICTACTED WHICH COMMANDERS WERE PLAYED.
Jeremy ran the deck in such a weird way especially with the relic he could have stormed off so easily yet missed the opportunity almost every turn
I think Cory missed the reason why Shorikai was a favorite commander of 2022.
Are fan requests done on Twitter? I always miss them.
you should do a sliver episode, where you play all 4 sliver commanders. there are 5 right? First sliver, Overlord, Hivelord, Legion and queen? Morophon doesn't count, so one will be left out and when you build the decks, you are not allowed to have the other commanders in the 99 :)
The dog that gets a counter every legendary includes lands by the way
31:02 not sure why Jon and Steven have taken damage from Coreys commander.. I don't think this was done correctly.
I think they are inaccurately assigning the Sheoldred draw trigger damage as commander damage
@@Misadon92 I agree but also if that's true why are they putting it all under stevens name instead of assigning that damage to the player. it's very weird, from later in the video when Jon attacks Steven with his commander they put the damage under Jons name. Like, that's wrong.. Jon didn't receive 6 commander damage.
@@Misadon92 I really enjoy this series, but man has it fallen quite a bit in terms of production. I'm glad life totals are being kept track of better recently but who made the decision to assign commander damage that way. it's very confusing.
@SinistrDairy so i have noticed that they track how much dmg each player has dealt to the others and the marker refers the color of the player
This killed me, the pilots crew for three, not two.
the phases of the turn still trigger even though the player is dead
I believe someone already said it, but Shorikai's pilots crew as a 3/1.
Also those pilots crew for 3 towards vehicles not 2
Corey is absolutely insufferable. His threat assessment is awful, and the fact that he lives to screw over Jeremy and hand Jon wins is so irritating. It's been a while since I've actually been able to finish an episode because of it.
This type of comment is so tedious by now. The kingmaking is usually done by Stephen making spiteful plays against Corey, which causes him to respond in kind. It's not a major defense for Corey, but Stephen contributes just as much on most games.
@@l337suxx0r It's hard when Corey builds a threatening boardstate and then uses it for his poor threat assessment to screw over 3rd and 4th place to not target him. He had a smothering tithe and card advantage and overloaded a cyclonic rift. And Stephen is contributing to kingmaking? The person who was in 2nd place threw the game directly to Jon.
@@myaramiu I'm referring to many more games than just this one. Plus Stephen had already been threatening do what he could against Corey for hitting his commander immediately. That's been a very common behavior of his before Corey showed up anyway.
@@l337suxx0rdon’t act like Corey isn’t constantly helping Jon win. Just because you have a weird obsession with Corey and Jon doesn’t mean Stephen is nearly as guilty as Corey is in terms of king making.
@@l337suxx0rthis type of comment is so tedious by now, you left another defensive comment here to protect your man friend cory
After reading the comments it blows my mind that no one pointed out how the editor was counting Sheoldred's card draw damage as Commander damage even though it wasn't combat damage. Maybe it got pointed out later in the video but I just couldn't bring myself to finish the video after all of the mistakes/misplays.
Day ??? Bc I lost count: I’d love to see Lost Companions. It’s my idea of having a decklist and a companion outside of its color identity. For example, Grixis nightmare tribal with Kaheera as the companion. I think this original and not really done yet. I loved to see it and how spicy the team can make the decks 🎉
You have to burn their counter spells, cant let them hold up your spells hostage because "you want it to resolve" lol
How is Corey activating his commander every turn? I don't see where he's getting the 1 mana.
Part of this is just underrating mirrym too. That card is ridiculous in its own right.
Man, it was super obnoxious to see Corey get all giddy with Jon winning another game at the end. I can get that he misjudged Miirym power and let it resolve, Jodah can be quite scary. But man am I tired of Jon just running in the lead because no one challenges him. At this point, I think I'd rather they cut the whole point thing, it'd make someone having such a winning streak less annoying.
Y'all really brought up the alchemy version of Teferi on screen. I
27 minutes into the video and all I can say is can Corey please be fired from Commander VS? Jon already has a 12 point lead and yet Corey makes decisions like he has a slim lead over Stephen and Jeremy and this is the final episode of the season.
can I say can you be fired from the comment section? Why would Corey allow a card to stay in play when it essentially makes his deck unplayable?
If he followed your advice he would have been dead many turns earlier, without having even played magic
@@Gunnarr123abc I was unaware that Jodah and Starscream made Corey's deck unplayable. I must have missed some interaction there👍🏿
@@Gunnarr123abc Yeah sure lol... Denny is right. Corey countered Jodah and Starscream and also literally let Jon win with his plays of getting rid of the sheoldred literally to just die to the rest of Stephens stuff...
Corey just has 0 threat assessment in 4 player games, he's literally propped up by SCG as a good player when he obviously doesn't even read the cards in his deck. He has ALWAYS been annoying and propped up by SCG.
It's obvious that we're all missing Justin. He is leagues above Corey.
So is there anyone here who actually enjoys the Dynamic Corey brings to this group?
Why would Jeremy not attack all out at Corey after the Cyclonic Rift? 😩
The Pilot token crews for 3 and not 2. Its wording is 2 greater
Are we misunderstanding that teferi? its only on his turn they cant cast o.o oh wait they linked the improper arena card text, is that card that nerfed on arena? Also the pilots are 2 greater, so its power 3 for crew not 2. Only needing 3 pilots.
Anyone else dying to see one of these guys run Auntie Blyte?
17:36 wrong, the pilots crew as if their power “was two GREATER” they are not crewing as if they have power two (2); they pilot as if their power is three (3)
This is significant because it brings the number of pilots required to crew it from four (4) to three (3).
There should be penalties for King Making. It's getting so old now.
@@cuthere80 He also doesn't read his cards and misplays a ton. The episode he played a snow deck he misread 4 cards and played a card wrong 3 times...
Corey is just not enjoyable to listen to either... really miss the chill attitude of the table before Corey came around...
@@myaramiu What, you don't enjoy the obnoxious stoner laugh after EVERY SINGLE WORD that he says?
The Terror of the peaks does in fact see each other enter, so the OG will have three triggers, then each of the other three will have two triggers. 15+10+10+10=45 damage.
They do not all see one another since they're made by separately resolving triggers. If it was a single effect creating them all they would see each other. They see in order.
The Miirym list only has 99 cards?
Yay Commander!
Corey continues to strongly hold first place for being the most obnoxious player ever to sit at the SCG Commander VS table.
Honestly watching Corey kingmake week after week makes me not really want to watch anymore
This type of comment is so tedious by now. The kingmaking is usually shared by others, such as Stephen making spiteful plays against Corey, which causes him to respond in kind. It's not a major defense for Corey, but Stephen contributes just as much on most games.
I hope Corey figured out he only needs 3 pilots.
Man again they made a mistake on reading the card the pilot crews for two more so total 3 power on crew cost. The other week it was on goblins
John has that many because spite being last in points Jeremy dies first
Ok can we talk about how dumb of a move it was for corey to let jon have 2 myriims but countered jodah.
It wasn't important, but those pilots count as 3 power, not 2
The games of king maker are getting annoying.
Can we have Justin back now?
boseju triggers yoshimaru
you guys are great
Kudos to Corey for leaning into "everyone is going to hate me"
Jeremy not leaving up plaza of heroes to leave protection for his Jodah is a misplay. Also not killing the player with the most likely board wipes in their control style deck, is also a fail.
Corey wasted way too much control on frivolous stuff.
I find myself enjoying other Commander content more.
