    I discovered that riding these routes , you go right by some good stuff. So now I ride areas , not concerned with a route or a constant loop . Down and back's are ok with me and often a damn good ride ! 👌

    Doing what has to be done. Documenting for future generations. When all the kids have Ipad implants in there heads and never breath fresh air they will muse over your travels. Bought my Ct125 after watching you and ANG go insane across the country on the TAT. Bought my RE Himalayan after watching your channel. So happy with both of them> Thank you Johnny POW!

    Great footage. I love this sort of stuff. Very hypnotic. Music sounds a lot like the band Explosions in the Sky. Good stuff.

      Thanks for the feedback - appreciate your watching! It’s going to be several weeks before any new videos, so hopefully parts 2 and 3 of the these SM500 videos, plus the two-part Shakedown rides with Ang I have posted since will entertain you until I’m back with more footage.

    You should try a WV mountain road run. Lots of curves up and down.

    I'm torn on my next bike. I have a TW200. Just sold a DR650... great bike but didn't like the seat height. I'm almost 50 and just want something great for trails and backroads. How has the Himalayan held up for you? I'm a skeptic...

    • @JohnnyPowRides
      @JohnnyPowRides  9 місяців тому

      I sold it. Was too piggish and slow. My DR 650 kicked its butt in every way, so once I got my DR fixed up I got rid of the REH.
      The one thing it was good at was slow gravel forest roads, but so is the TW I assume.
      I am interested in the upcoming 450 Himalayan but it still might not be as good as my DR. I’m tall so I love the DR size.

    Video is tack sharp buddy. 60fps lookin good!! Would you mind sharing what mic you use, sounds great

    • @JohnnyPowRides
      @JohnnyPowRides  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks. The mic is nothing special. Sarmonic lavalier (was like $30 on Amazon) into the mic jack on media mod. I'm working on trying to optimize the video quality on YT but as you know the compression can make it look blocky and grainy. I've been experimenting. My next video might be 30p to see if I can retain some sharpness but reduce the file size and stream demand. My internet at home actually has a problem keeping up with the data rate at 60.

      @@JohnnyPowRides cool! Yes sir, same here, I film mine in 4k 30fps and it seems easier to upload, stream etc. Learning the editing software has been one of the hardest things I've ever done. People say its because of the brand I chose (davinci resolve) but it's free!! I'm still learning buy getting there. I think the 60fps is great if you need to slow the footage down or do slow motion. But 30 is plenty fine for regular video. The color and brightness is spot on though man. Bravo!

    How would you compare the Royal Enfield to the DR?

    • @JohnnyPowRides
      @JohnnyPowRides  2 роки тому +1

      In my "shakedown" videos (a two parter on my DR) I talk a bunch about my thoughts on this. But I'm now home from doing the GCDR on the REH and I'll go ahead and say it. I wish I had the DR for it instead. But on the other hand, on gravel type forest roads (like what we mostly rode) it did perfectly fine. Got good gas mileage too. So it's hard to say. I just wanted more power some times but the REH did 3400 or something trouble free miles on the trip. I did zero maintenance to it, just gas and one chain adjustment

    Thanks for sharing. Did you get the Himalayan pannier rack?

    • @JohnnyPowRides
      @JohnnyPowRides  2 роки тому

      Yes I have the OEM pannier racks and the hard cases - but for adventure riding I use the soft bags for safety. I only really use the hard cases for around town errands

      Thank you. I got my himi today. Rode 50 miles. Need a new seat. Had a hell of a time shifting. Couldn't get my boot under the lever. For higher gears. So for the community. Have your shop set your bike up for you. So far new seat, new mirrors , an shifter adjustment. But love it. Let's ride.

    Man , I got taken out by a bicyclist on the wrong side of the Rd. He was on a big down hill , so he was going 20+mph. .... I said you were f'n on my side . He says .... It's one lane 😖.... His carbon fiber bike was in two pieces , and I wasn't sad about that 👌

      I've noticed in life many people process both just fine, and the music just mentally fades to ambience. Some love the roar of engines and can let that fade to background as they hear chat. Most of that set don't like music, and most of the music set don't like noisy engines or wind.
      Some can't process two sounds at once and just despise any other introduced sound...the other sound takes over their one channel hearing.
      However, none of us can really assume everybody thinks and hears just as we personally do. Different presentations for different people. Best to find your own enjoyment presenter.
