Santiago never stops, whether its christmas or a regular day he still comes with a new vid! CHAMP. I am acc quite surprised by its performance, also same goes for the newer iphones that can run it at low settings ( maybe the 16 pro m can do medium now idk ) at 40 fps.
It's annoying that the Directors cut doesn't have the original included, but the Games more cinematic anyway so you don't rlly need to go above 40fps anyway.
Nice video Santi, some note in my experience playing they game on my laptop -The game is very demanding on the CPU (specially transversing on vehicles once you reach chapter 3), so acheving a HFR experience might be difficult on some CPUs, (for those on the ROG Ally and Legion Go 720p60s or 1080p40s might be the ways to go since there's no 900p res). -Theres an ultrawide mod for the game and might work on Deck but I don't think isnt working properly on 16:10 aspect ratio: the image looks kinda streech and theres ui issues like Legacy of Kain Remastered, so I would recommend to stick on 16:9. -If you guys have a 1440p/1600p screen or higher (or are using DLDSR) and an RTX card use DLSS on Quality mode, the game looks way better than the native res with TAA or FXAA
Great video im glad the hdr implementation is good. This game been in my backlog for awhile looks fun. I'm probably going to lock boss fights at 30 gptta give the deck some room to breathe lol shes dying
Hey Santiago I think you would like to try the DLSS enabler mod on BG3 on the Deck, I'm testing it and was able to get some solid 50s and even 60s early game. Did it on Cyberpunk and got even better results
Great video Santiago thank you! When you cap frame rates in game scope, do you also cap down to that frame rate in game or do you leave the frame rate uncapped? I wonder if leaving in game frame rate uncapped and capping via game scope may cause battery loss from extra work on the APU making frames. Also are you ever using in game vsync?
Hey! If you use gamescope by default it's locked to the fps to match the refresh rate, keeping the game uncapped. You can also disable the gamescope fps cap and allow tearing in the menu and use the in-game vsync. All available options, usually the gamescope fps cap has more latency
Is this the Epic version? cuz you don't have access to the shader cache optimization with the EPIC version, SIFU from Steam have a lot less stuttering on SD than the EGS one.
Thank you so much for doing this video. Timing is impeccable! Because I'm getting this game literally tonight. Should I get directors cut first or other version first is what I'm now wondering tho
It draws less power with lower gpu clock in directer cut, that’s why it has a bit less fps. Is that buggy or any configuration difference in both tests?
@@imacomputer101 No the Directors Cut has lots of new mechanics and gear and even some areas that the original doesn't have. I was saying you should just play the DC even if it costs a few FPS.

Can't wait for death stranding 2 :D
Also can you use dx11 on directors cut

Works a lot better on steamos than windows 11

Hello Santiago, how do you mod in the 16:10 aspect ratio? I managed for Elden ring with ER patcher, is it similar?? Thank you!
Try this: steamcommunity.com/app/1190460/discussions/0/2995422855903187073/ Good luck!
@ thank you! I figured out if you set game resolution to 1280x800 on the deck home then you can stretch the screen to make it look like 16,10
This game is all about visuals. I have it on 30 fps and no upscalling as FSR just deletes rain.

Hey! I will try it soon :)
Great job on this video, like the talk over the OG and Directors Cut. Makes me wonder your thoughts on Outer Worlds and it's Space Choice edition.
Thanks! On the Outer Worlds is a lot different, specially on visuals and performance, I will take a look at those soon :)
Thanks for the video! And what about 30 fps cap?
You can also do so! I would disable upscaling at that point, personally in this case I don't think is worth it, 40 feels so much better it's crazy

This is the steam version, I can attest to Sifu though, lot less stutter on the Steam version due to the precomp shaders
How did you get that HDR logo in the settings ?
If you have a Steam Deck OLED, you need to enable HDR in-game, and it will show up :)
@ I do!! And thanks!!
Steam deck on 🔝

Thanks! Only the Director's Cut can be purchased, so that's the only one, enjoy!
@SantiagoSantiago well that makes everything much easier to decide !! Thank you so much !! Your channel is amazing
I now realized you mentioned this right away in beginning of video but was at work when I watched this haha

Which device do you prefer? Steam deck Oled or Rog Ally
Personally Steam Deck OLED, way better screen color, longer battery life and in my big hands it fits better
You know what they say: big hands, big deck.
@ I see! Despite the Rog Ally having much better power than the OLED?
does directors cut support frame gen from dlss 3?
There's a mod for that yeah
You'd be trading so much content for like 5fps though.. And at ~50 fps that isn't a very noticeable difference.
@@hankhillsdisappointedsigh do you mean that the original non directors cut version has more content?
Oh I see what you're saying. Because he recommended the original for the additional fps. I agree.
