I highly recommend getting EmuDeck, I have emudeck and i've been playing all of the old ratchet and clank games, and the sly cooper collection on my steam deck, and its been amazing
Got my Deck a week ago, but it made it way easier to sit down on the sofa at the end of a busy day and get some undistracted gaming in. Love that thing!
I been playing on PS for around 15 years and never thought about trying Xbox or even getting myself to Steam. However, last month I built my own first PC for the first time ever, and realized how much I was missing playing on steam with all these fun little games, sales, friendly policy for returning games, and the best thing is the graphics and performance I feel like I made the best transition from PS to Steam. I still play on PS, but I can see myself slowly leaving PS behind over time. Now I’m thinking to get the Oled Steam deck and this is what I decided to do today after going through so many reviews. I will try it myself.
It’s a good introduction to Steam if you’ve never had a PC or you want to play some of your PC library portably. I definitely think it’s worth it especially being on sale and also getting it through someone selling online too. I’ve been a console gamer since forever, so, this really opened up my eyes!
Congrats on finding steam. Terraria way back when it came out got me to download steam the first time. Like you said, what an incredible library steam is and valves customer service is one of the best.
100% That’s what sold me honestly. The Library and knowing that I’ll have those games for every generation of Steam Decks to come and eventually on PC when I buy one.
Valve knew what they were doing. I think this is why it's better than the other handhelds out there. I feel like Asus and MSI kinda just saw what Steam did and rushed out their own thing just to have it. But Steam, knew what matters and delivered a whole package that we and use easily and enjoy.
Pretty great video especially for your first video on the channel. Love my steam deck OLED. Not sure if you are into JRPGs but games like Persona are fantastic on steam deck.

It seemed like EVERYBODY was laughing when the Switch was announced. Gamers were like, "lol so weak, RIP nintendo lmao" and critics weren't very kind either. I was like, "Wait, it's a portable console that you can hook up to your TV? With detachable controllers? And you don't have to buy a game TWICE just to have a portable version for a handheld console?! Dude, this RULES!!" ...And so, the Switch singlehandedly started the biggest handheld console war ever. 🙂
I agree man. I just finally picked up a SD less than a month ago and I don’t regret it at all. I let my last gaming PC get quite outdated and my main personal computer is a Mac. I do hate windows. So I’ve been stuck with PS5/XSX. Picking up the deck has allowed me to get back into games I’ve been missing. Anything main stream AAA I can play on my consoles without any issue. I even played through the original Spider-Man on PlayStation and now I’m playing remastered on the deck. It’s a game I probably wouldn’t have reinstalled on console. But I never got to play the DLC. Playing fresh on deck has been great and performance is surprising. Thinking about another play through of Ragnarok on the deck now. Even having these games on console I feel like actually playing them again on the deck when I otherwise wouldn’t be gaming at all. It’s kind of amazing. And yeah, more powerful handhelds exist. But the ease of use for this as a casual device is next level with SteamOS. Love it.

@ Yeah man 100% and while I like to support Valve, I’ll admit that with SteamOS on a more powerful device the choice will be a lot harder. Whoever has the best balance of ergonomics, graphical processing and screen quality will probably get it for me. The OLED is amazing and even against higher refresh rate with VRR I’ll still choose the OLED every time. Once these other guys stop using LCD my wallet is in trouble.
The Steam Deck turned me from a casual Valve supporter into a hardcore Valve supporter. The handheld itself, with the dual trackpads and back buttons, is perfect for portable PC gaming and emulation. There's a relatively small - but not insignificant - difference between a "portable PC gaming and emulation" device and a "portable console with Windows OS" device. Somewhat small difference, but the choice is clear for me (and other Steam Deck enjoyers).
Yeah I’m on the same boat. I loved Valve for a while but didn’t have a device just yet to enjoy what Steam could offer, and getting the Steam deck really opened my eyes 💯💯💯
i orderd mine 2 days ago, the 1TB model. i was on the fence if i should get the 512GB or the 1TB because i know how to upgrade the SSD but the tempered glass of the 1TB really sold me. i know people say that you could put a screen protector on the lower model to reduce glare but to me based on how my friends steam decks looked with it on it wasn't the same so i bought the 1TB model.

@@coolermaster yeah honestly handheld gaming is the way to go. I tried VR and all types of gaming the last few years, and there’s nothing like a good handheld… just pick it up, pass some time, watch some tv while you play, destress etc.

In short, console and mac are holding you back bro... free yourself 😅 Just have the steam deck on the go, and a PC on an Oled or Miniled TV, you can add a surround sound system to that for best gaming and movie experience. 🤙🏻 That's what I do, mini led and surround, proper HDR on games like Cyberpunk, Dead Space or any game that low light ambient is part of the setting, is more important IMO than running the game at ultra settings, HDR trully makes a difference. Also surround sound 5.1, it adds so much to immersion.

I ordered my steam deck yesterday (got the 256GB LCD model). I Have a PC and a PS5 but the PS5 just hasn't been fun at all and i dont like paying $80 a year for cloud saves, and online multiplayer when steam allows both and more for free. I also just want to play fallout 1-new vegas, the batman arkham quadrillogy, and the old COD Zombies on the go with my PC saves on there. I feel like the PS5 was a huge let down in terms of games and decisions. PSVR2 was going to save the PS5 i thought but sony is treating it like the failed PSVita. They also upped the price of PS+ from 60 to 80 dollars a year for the same exact thing. And almost all of of the PS5 and series X exclusives are already on Steam. I just find it pointless to own a console now (nintendo is still good, but im not interested in the switch). Ive had some serious thoughts on selling my PS5 recently, i dont play it nor do I have fun on it, its a youtube machine now lol
COD this year made me start shifting all of my games to Steam. Truly opened my eyes to how much better they treat their community compared to console players! Can’t wait for you to experience gaming on the Steam Deck. Truly one of my favorite devices I’ve ever bought!

Bro do the full switch to PC. I still have and regularly play games I bought over 10 years ago. Compare that to all of the Wii eShop games I bought that are now gone forever. 10 years from now it will be the same deal, all of the money spent on switch games will be gone in a puff of smoke but I'll still have my steam games. Same goes for the hardware, my current PC is still in the first PC case I ever bought 12 years ago. You just upgrade what you need to when you need to. Can you say the same about your PS3? I know I can't.

This handheld is awesome and as long as i can play older AAAs im happy. Bought the steam deck lcd 256 for 230$ a month ago go just to see what i thought about it. Ive already swaped the ssd to a 1tb and bought a 1tb sd card. Im also thinking of getting an oled-one since i liked it that much. As you said, this got me back to gaming aswell. Didnt think anything would. OUT, Holo Cure is awesome on the deck, and its free!

if you can afford it, OLED. OLED is simply better in every capacity, and the screen difference is just absurd. Beyond the screen, it has a better battery and slightly better performance. but I have to emphasize how much better the screen is compared to the steam deck base edition
I agree! Although, other than the screen being a sweet upgrade-if you’re on a budget; you’ll still have tons of fun on the LCD model. The games are really what make any device fun anyways!
I think game devs are also seeing how successful of a handheld it is similar to the switch, so, I’m sure more of them are willing to make an optimized version of their games to work on the steam deck too! I mean seeing God of War and games like CyperPunk working nicely on the Deck is a crazy feat

It was ROG ALLY for me... i am loving all the games running at 70 to 100 fps using afmf 2 upscaller

tbh steam deck probably would play gta 6 at low settings. i dont see a reason for steam deck 2. it already has a 6nm chip.
