      The question is if that strain existed even before this rag. Who was copying who is hard to determine.

    This is an excellent rag, but in the D major part, WTF ARE THESE 32ND-NOTE JUMP CHORDS??!!

      It is a good one to be sure. You don't see a lot of dotted sixteenths in ragtime except sometimes in novelty rags, but's it's a nice touch for a folk rag, gives it a jazzy feel.
