Feeling the shout-out love! ❤ As you know, I tried minimizing gift knits this year, which totally worked! ... up until I decided to make things interesting with a quick hat project this morning. Tis the season! I purchased Iris as well! I can't wait to see how our sweaters turn out!
I adore Wicked. I’ve seen the play about 4 or 5 times so I scooted to the movie ASAP! Loved it and would go again in a heart beat, but just haven’t had the chance yet. I think your wicked knits are spot on. I may have to borrow that idea and throw a Wicked inspired knit into my mix. I am working on the Half and Half Triangle shawl by Purl SoHo in a Royal blue and white for my granddaughter for Christmas. She is in her second year of college at U of Ky and blue and white are the school colors. 🤞that I get it done in time. It will be close. Also knit a cabled hat in Clinton Cashmere for my daughter for Christmas. It is in Jason’s Cashmere Hat by Sweet Fiber. That’s the extent of my gift knitting this year. I subbed as soon as I heard you gushing about Wicked. Love that show. Merry a Christmas.
This year is my first year gift knitting, but I think I have been way to ambitious with two sweaters, a pair of mittens and a scarf ! This has been a lesson for me because one of the sweaters won't be finished so I've knitted a promise keeper instead to show that it is coming haha ! Next year will be much smaller projects but I love the intention behind the gifts so I will do it again :)
I would do the collar first, then finish the sleeves and the body. Only then you will be able to see the actual length since the collar will cinch it all in. I think that the designer's intention is to use the collar to make final adjustments as you mentioned, though starting with the collar seems more efficient - and it will save you from pre-blocking.
Thanks for another great episode. I gift knit socks and catnip stuffed cat toys for the grand kittens. If you want some color theory inspiration, you should check out Shannon from Whiskey and Wool. She’s a very talented knitter and spinner who discusses color theory frequently in her podcasts. Happy Holidays! Ps, I’m currently knitting the Alaska sweater.
@@bridgetbrimm9893 thank you for watching! That’s so cute!! And thank you for the recommendation. I will be checking out her channel tonight! And are you liking the Alaska sweater?? What colors did you choose??
@ I’m using Knit Picks city tweed in Kelp and cascade 220 in charcoal for the colorwork. The pattern is written really well. I saw in one of the projects on Ravelry that the knitter liked the fit so well she was knitting another without colorwork. I’m hoping it becomes my go-to raglan too. Right now the Tolsta and Autumn League are tied for that role.
I wonder if it's because you would knit the sleeves in the round at a tighter guage because there is a smaller circumferance. I f you know your guage on 4m socks for example, you would know.
Definitely a gift knitter, it is my love language 😊The sweater you are wearing looks amazing on you!
@@TRaceTK aw, I love that! And thank you so much!!
